Camperworld Hot Springs, Garland, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects RPI rate. Open RV park, sites are gravel with small grass areas. Each site has a table and fire ring. We tried one site and could not level, so we moved to another site and had no problem with leveling. Pull through sites would not accommodate our 40 ft. rig with toad. Water and electric are good. The pool temp is 98 degrees due to the hot springs. Staff was very helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Camperworld Hot Springs in a Motorhome.

Roaring Run Resort, Champion, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here through ROD, so no charge. This is an okay park, but we only stayed overnight. The roads are pretty rough, with large dips. They need to trim the trees. We could not get into the first site assigned to us, site 7. Unable to get satellite TV due to the trees. Verizon Mifi worked well. Dogs are allowed but there were restrictions on where they could be walked and we were warned about the waste patrol; not an issue for us as we pick up after our pets. Our site, 10, was flat, but the electric and water were on the wrong side of the motorhome. There is no sewer hook-ups; only 30 amp. No WiFi, no cable TV. Staff were friendly and helpful. Doubt that we will stay here again. We camped at Roaring Run Resort in a Motorhome.

Pier-Lon Park, Medina, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. I gave it a 9 because I thought the price was a little high. No discounts. A lot of seasonals, but the park was nice. Easy to level the motor home. Staff are very pleasant. Spagetti dinner for $5 on Saturday evening was nice. Able to run the dogs in the field. Plenty of activity for kids. We will stay here again. We camped at Pier-Lon Park in a Motorhome.

Hunter Cove COE, Republican City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice COE park with large sites and fire ring. There is a playground but no swimming access. There is a laundry, which was very inexpensive: $0.75 for wash and dry. Rt 136 west from Franklin really needs repair; the road from the east is much better. We camped at Hunter Cove COE in a Motorhome.

Fort Kearny State Recreation Area, Kearney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Typical state park. Nice staff, but you are charged for the site, a $7 reservation fee, plus $4 per vehicle, that is $4 for the motorhome and $4 for the car. The nice ranger at the gate did not make us pay for the motorhome, but we were just lucky and only staying for 1 night. That is why I gave this park a 6. Too expensive for only an electrical hook up. With discounts we could have stayed at a full hook up park for less money. We camped at Fort Kearny State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park. The price is with a Good Sam discount. Most of the sites are pull through. Easy in and out off the interstate, but outside of the rig you could hear the traffic noise. The park was very busy with travelers. A little expensive. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is the nicest KOA that we every used. They have all of the amenties. I gave it a 9 due to the price. We paid $40, and that was a rally discount price which I feel is too expensive. But, the park is well maintained, the sites are a nice size. We will not stay here again only due to the high price. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice town park. I gave it a 9 because it did does not have sewer and water hook ups. The sites are large and flat. There are no trees. Nice beach for swimming. The dump station and water fill are both east to use. We stayed in site 33, which was nice and flat. We will stay here again in the future. Lake Thunderbird State Park, Norman, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 nights in site #1 in Sandy Point. This area of the park had very recently been hit by a tornado, so much of the area was not open. Our site was level, with a concrete pad which was long enough for our 40 ft motorhome. It was an easy back-in with the parking lot in front of us. We stayed in a 30 amp site with no sewer. The directions listed are from I-35, but if you are coming in on I-40, you can use the Choctaw Rd. exit and head south for 10 miles. The road has no shoulders, but is straight. Turn left at the "T" intersection and you are about 1/2 mile from the entrance to the park. The I-35 directions send you through the town of Norman. The staff was very nice. We would stay here again. We camped at Lake Thunderbird State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Texoma RV Campground, Gordonville, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice preserve. It is in good repair, the staff is friendly, and the activities are well done. Bathrooms were clean. The adult pool was very nice, except that the spa was not working. The family center spa had no heat. We were in site Q45, a 50 amp site. The area was quiet, even though we were here for the 4th of July weekend. The Friday morning cinnamon rolls were fresh and the weekend breakfast was a good deal for the money. The only reason that I gave it a 9 was that the store could have been improved with a better selection of merchandise. We camped at Lake Texoma RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Big Red Barn RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice stop over park. Passport America rate. Close to Rt. 71, but far enough away that there was no traffic noise. Gravel site, with concrete pad under the picnic table. Friendly staff. Level sites with some shade. Small playground, no pool. We would stay here again. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Fort Smith State Park, Mountainburg, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in this state park. The sites are large, with concrete pads, nice new metal picnic tables, large fire rings. Each site also has a gravel tent pad. Nice paved roads. The campground over looks the lake, but the trees block the view. Most sites are level. The AAA sites have 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There was a $4 daily fee per person to use the pool, which was open 12-6pm. The road to the park is steep with curves, but easily driveable. One of the nicest state parks that we have ever stayed in, and we would stay here again. We camped at Lake Fort Smith State Park in a Motorhome.

Kan-Do Campground & RV Park, Montgomery City, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice mom & pop type campground with a Good Sam discount. The owner was very nice and assigned us a pull-thru 50 amp.site, #4. It was fairly level and about 150 ft. long. There are all dirt roads, our site was dirt and gravel. It is actually two sites, but the owner told us that she was not assigning anyone to the front site. We had no one next to us on either side. No problem with opening our slides. Good free Wi-Fi. There is a large older, swimming pool, volleyball net and a playground. Also a big grassy field in the middle to run our dogs. Laundry had 2 washers and dryers, cost for washer was $1.25, a lot less than the $2.00 we have been paying. The park is located behind the rest-area at mile marker 169, but the rest area is currently closed. We could hear some highway traffic, but it did not disturb our sleeping. Directions to the park were correct and it was a clear, easy ride to the park off the interstate. We would stay here again if traveling through the area. We camped at Kan-Do Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with everything noted above. This is a very nice park, with great amenities. We have enjoyed our stay in the area. The only issue we had was leveling the motorhome. The paved roads and sites are nice. We stayed in 66 and then moved to 155, both of which we had problems leveling. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Shady Rest RV Park, Shady Springs, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park in the Escapees book. It was not listed on the brochure from the information center at entrance to the state. The road into the park is narrow and a long part of it is dirt. The road is winding with a 90 degree uphill/ downhill turn. The site we were given was gravel, in the middle of a field, but there were sites ringed around the field in the trees. There are no facilities, although there was a full hook-up with 50 amp. The staff were friendly and very nice to us, but I would not recommend the park as there is nothing there and the road in and out is narrow, winding and scary with tree limbs hitting the roof of the motor home. We camped at Shady Rest RV Park in a Motorhome.
