General Coffee State Park, Nicholls, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park with live oaks, long leaf pines and so many other trees that every space is shaded. Every site is also a pull-thru. There are great hiking trails and a wonderful variety of birds. We enjoyed listening to the frogs and owls at night. The park includes a heritage farm that offers a small museum and a number of farm animals. The goats, chickens, sheep, ducks, turkeys, horse, mule, pigs and donkeys eagerly look forward to treats from visitors. The farm pond is nice for fishing. I took away a star due to the lack of WiFi at the campground. We camped at General Coffee State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Destin West RV Resort, Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The nightly rate reflects a 2 month stay; the single night rate is considerably higher as one would expect in a beach area resort. The sites are nicely spaced and are paved with bricks that match the patios. Each site has a table and benches. The laundry room is small but clean and is open 24 hours a day, as is the pool. The draw back is the lack of shade and the noise from the boats on the Santa Rosa Sound and the jets from the nearby air bases. Nevertheless, it's clean and in a great location. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Eagle Ridge RV Park, Eagleville, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The rate represents a Good Sam discount and a weekly rate. The sites are reasonably level with a lovely view into the valley and the pond on the property. There is very little road noise and no trains or planes. The owners live on site and are very helpful. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Will be back again. We camped at Eagle Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Prairie Motel & RV Park, Anton, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park is 100 miles east of Denver in farm country. It's maintained for harvest workers but is a good spot for a overnight before or after the city. It's bare bones with grass sites but excellent hookups. Be sure to call during harvest season as it's usually packed. The sites are side-to-side and could be very tight with slideouts. We camped at Prairie Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice family owned facility behind a Family Fun Center. We were just looking for an overnight with a pull through site. They were very helpful in getting us set up. Would definitely stop here again when traveling US 36 through Kansas. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

St. John's RV Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The price is Passport America cost. The site was reasonably level with a table and benches. A shuttle picked us up, took us to St. Augustine for our sightseeing expeditions and home again. There is a flea market on the grounds that is open weekends. In addition strawberries may be picked at the flea market for a reasonable cost. The location just off I 95 was convenient. We will stay here again if in the area. We camped at St. John's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Walkabout Camp & RV Park, Woodbine, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The price is the Coast to Coast members cost. 50 amp service is an additional $2 per night. The laundry room is clean and convenient but expensive. Nature trails are available for strolling. They would be very muddy if it had rained. There are only a few shady spots. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would like to return for another stay. We camped at Walkabout Camp & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Falling Waters State Park, Chipley, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful state park with a waterfall. We were here just one night and wished we had planned for longer. The pull through was a little tight but doable, and the cement pad made leveling simple. The playground would be a delight for any child. We camped at Falling Waters State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park far enough from I25 for quiet, but close enough for convenience. We arrived in time for the sand hill cranes annual migration to the nearby National Wildlife Refuge. It was delightful to watch and listen to the birds. History buffs will find many great areas to explore within about 30 miles. We've been here several times and always find the owners helpful and the grounds in good order. There are no frills but good pull throughs for overnighters. We camped at Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
