High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located where Interstate 70 and Highway 83 meet. It has easy access in and out. It is not exactly an RV resort, but it is adequate for an overnight stay. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The site is plenty big although the rig next door is close. There is excellent cable and the restrooms are super. There is an on site restaurant that is a must do. The food is excellent and the owner is the cook. We will definitely return. There isn't a lot out in this part of the country so finding this oasis in very nice. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Robidoux RV Park, Gering, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty park, out in the country, and away from the noise of the city. There is lots of grass and trees. Everything is neat and well maintained. The sites are spacious and you do not look into your neighbor's rig. Scotts Bluff Nat'l Monument is nearby. Excellent cable. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Robidoux RV Park in a Motorhome.

River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort, Evansville, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We were a bit disappointed after reading previous reviews. This is basically a dirt parking lot. There is astro turf at each site which is new. The trees have been planted and will be better as the park ages. Cable tv is minimal but ok. We used our own Mifi which worked well, as did our cell phones. The park is supposed to be on the Platte River, but we did not see it. The trains are very close. The only sites available were very short, but we made it work. I guess most sites are filled with permanents. The good: we are on the other side of Casper and will avoid any traffic in the morning. We might check out other parks in the future although they received terrible ratings. This one is ok for a one nighter. We camped at River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort in a Motorhome.

Ponderosa Campground, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This park has an excellent location right in town, near the Buffalo Bill Museum complex. It has excellent cable. We used our own MiFi. The biggest negative is that the sites are so close together. The rig behind us is less than three feet away. We are on a cul de sac, and had to move our car so the folks next door could get into their site. We also had quite a bit of road noise. That being said, we have stayed here before and would return, based mostly on the location. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful RV resort. Everything is maintained perfectly. Each site is spacious, with plenty of room for a motorhome and tow car. Each site is nice gravel with a patio, grass and trees. Cable is very nice. We have our own MiFi which worked well, as did our cell phones. The best part of this park is the location close to Yellowstone. We were able to go into the Park several times at different times of the day. We will definitely return. This is one of our favorite parks. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located behind a truck stop, which sounds awful; but it is actually very nice. It is well maintained. The sites are spacious with excellent cable and wifi. Our site was on the end with a large tree. The bathrooms are new and nice. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is because it is just a basic gravel parking lot, but, it is nice. The manager is very helpful and accommodating. We would return. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Grand Coulee RV Park, Grand Coulee, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is nothing special, just a dirt parking spot. But it was the closest to the dam. We had planned on doing the night light show and wanted not to have to drive far in the dark. Cable tv was excellent. Bathrooms are older but adequate. There are prettier park in nearby towns. We would probably not stay here again but only because we have been there, done that. We camped at Grand Coulee RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a gorgeous park with lots of grass and trees. The sites are nice and large on grass and alternate backing in so that you are not close to your neighbor. The park was full of camping families due to the amenities geared to the kids. There is a nice pool in the park and everyone was rafting in the Methow River. No cable but good wifi. Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA, Concrete, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large pretty park with lots of huge trees and shade. There would normally be green grass, but they are suffering with a drought this year. As usual, this KOA is geared towards the kiddies. The sites are spacious and away from each other. This is a combination Thousand Trails/KOA park. We would stay here again when passing through. We camped at Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Fidalgo Bay Resort, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a few waterfront sites and had we stayed in one of those, our review would probably be higher. We were in one of the back in sites with no view. The roads are gravel and thus, it is dusty. Some of the sites are very close and tight. It is nothing special. We were disappointed. We love the area, but would not travel up to this area again just for a parking spot in a gravel lot. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

John Wayne's Waterfront Resort (formerly Sequim Bay Resort), Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The selection of parks in this area is poor and this park is the best in Sequim. It is a basic, gravel parking lot with a somewhat view of the marina. The name of the park has changed and the sign for the park is hard to read, but it is the park right across the street from the marina. The showers are clean and the laundry is older. We used the laundromat in town which was excellent. The manager is very friendly and helpful. This area is beautiful and there is lots to do. WiFi was ok and cable was excellent. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at John Wayne's Waterfront Resort (formerly Sequim Bay Resort) in a Motorhome.

Quileute Lonesome Creek RV Park, La Push, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a gravel parking lot. The restrooms are clean. Maintenance on the property could be improved. But the RV park has sites facing the ocean, which is excellent. The nice beach is a very short, easy walk from the park. However, if you are searching for a warm beach spot, this is not the place. It is foggy and cool a lot. There is not much in La Push so you must get supplies in Forks. We loved it and will return. We camped at Quileute Lonesome Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bay Center / Willapa Bay KOA, Bay Center, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty park with lots of trees and spacious sites. But the best part of this park is the pride of ownership of the owners. They are constantly cleaning and maintaining the park, and go out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable. The park is spotless and everything works well. It was packed over the 4th of July holiday and yet everything ran smoothly with all of the kiddies being entertained. The beach is nothing special but it is fun for kids and dogs and clam diggers. We would stay here again. It is definitely a hidden gem. We camped at Bay Center / Willapa Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Westgate Motor & Trailer Court, Ocean Park, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that is about 11 miles north of Ilwaco. Some of the sites do have a distant view of the ocean but it is not worth paying extra for. If you are able, you can walk to the beach, but it is quite a ways. We checked other parks in the area, and the walk to the beach is about the same. This park has not been kept up as some of the other parks have, but it is adequate. Cable is fair, restrooms are clean, laundry is cheap but only one machine. We would stay here again. We camped at Westgate Motor & Trailer Court in a Motorhome.
