Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park gets a bad rap from a lot of big rigs because of its location in a pine forest. It is an older KOA park that was built before the big rigs. And yes, the streets are narrow and the corners are tough for the big ones. With that said, this is a pretty park with lots of trees and shade, birds and squirrels. We love it. We had one of the best spots in the park and we extended our stay because it was so peaceful and beautiful. The maintenance crew is awesome and are working constantly to keep it looking nice and clean. The showers and laundry are great. Wi-Fi was iffy, but adequate. Cable is great. We will definitely be back. We think this is the best park in Flagstaff. It is not a typical parking lot and that is what we like about it the best. We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Motorhome.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located about 12 miles east of Kingman and it is surprisingly very nice. The sites are very spacious on gravel. The bathrooms are individual and nice. There is limited cable and good Wi-Fi available at each site. While there is some road noise, the sites are far enough away that it is minimal. This is the first time we have stayed here and we will be back. At an elevation of 4,300 ft., it is much cooler here than in downtown Kingman or Needles. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

Barstow / Calico KOA, Yermo, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is actually a very nice park. It is clean and nicely maintained. The trees are finally getting big enough to provide some shade and they are between each site. The amenities are clean and nice. Staff is also great. We always stay here when going through and will be back in the future. We camped at Barstow / Calico KOA in a Motorhome.

Likely Place RV & Golf Resort, Likely, California

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here heading south on Hwy 395 because the options in Alturas did not look that good. I note that one review gave this park a 10, and while it is nice, it is not a 10. It is out in the country situated on a golf course. We do not play golf and would not call this a resort. The RV spaces are a nice size with grass between each site. There is no TV, but the WiFi is excellent at our site. There is a grill at the office. It was nice and cool and we enjoyed a great view of the golf course. We would stop here again. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Lakewood RV Park, White City, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is listed in the campground directory under Medford although it is right off of Hwy 140 in White City. We are headed to Klamath Falls, so it was very convenient and easy to get to. It is a small pretty park in a quiet setting. No Wi-Fi, but excellent cable. Bathrooms are older, but ok. A nice stop for overnight. Close to Walmart. We would return when in the area. We camped at Lakewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

AtRivers Edge RV Resort, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest park in Brookings, although the section with the permanents is not as nice as the transient section. We had a river view site which was just gorgeous. We saw deer daily and picked wild blackberries. The weather is usually nicer than in downtown Brookings, as the fog will lift sooner. There were problems with the Wi-Fi, and phone reception is poor. Good cable. Excellent staff. We would stay here again. We camped at AtRivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Port Orford RV Village, Port Orford, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This pretty park continues to be one of our favorites. The owners could not be nicer and go out of their way to make sure you are welcomed and feel at home. They work tirelessly to maintain their park in pristine condition. The WiFi and cable are both excellent. Bathrooms are spotless. Landscaping is superb. If you are looking for peace and quiet with super friendly people, this is the place. We camped at Port Orford RV Village in a Motorhome.

Rogue River RV Park, Shady Cove, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our top five favorite parks. This year they have Wi-Fi at each site, and while it is only fair, it is an improvement. The park itself is nothing special, but it is nicely maintained. And yes, the spots in the middle are close together. We make reservations way in advance to secure one of the spots right on the Rogue River and it is spectacular. The river is right out your door. We love Shady Grove. There are some excellent restaurants. The manager of the park and her staff, as well as the permanent residents, are all very nice. We love it here and will be back. Summer months are really crowded, but in May it is really quiet. This is fish country. We camped at Rogue River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Premier RV Resorts of Redding , Redding, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty park, nicely maintained, with patios at every site. The bathrooms are individual and private and everything is spotlessly clean. The office staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. It is also in a quiet location unlike other parks in the area. Excellent WiFi and OK cable. We would definitely stay again when in the area. It is a nice half way stop between Sacto and Oregon. We camped at Premier RV Resorts of Redding in a Motorhome.

Placerville KOA, Shingle Springs, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This park is actually located in Shingle Springs, just a few miles from Placerville. It is also situated right on Highway 50. However, after you are in camp, for a bit, you don't notice the traffic noise and this time of year it was minimal. We loved the grass, trees and multitude of birds. The owners are super nice and keep the park well maintained. There are not many RV parks in the area and the more popular one, about 20 miles away, is quite a bit more expensive, so this KOA is actually reasonable. We enjoyed our weekend stay very much and having the buffet next door at the casino was a nice bonus. We camped at Placerville KOA in a Motorhome.

Dos Reis Regional Park, Lathrop, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at this lovely park about once a year. This year it was as pretty as usual in the spring. There is hardly ever anyone here which only adds to the peace and quiet. The on-site hosts keep a keen eye on the comings and goings, so you feel safe and protected. The park is close enough for any shopping you need and far enough away from any freeway noise. The showers are funky, yes, but they are doable and the peace and quiet more than make up for the plumbing. We will be back. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This park continues to be nicely maintained. The staff is excellent. This time of year, it is quiet and very pretty with lots of trees and grass. This is a perfect place if you like fishing or golf, both nearby. We stay here almost every spring and will be back in the future. We love the country feel in the middle of a huge metropolis. We camped at Sugar Barge Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We chose to pay extra for a water view and even though there is a fence, the view was still very nice. We had site 41 which is very spacious. This park does not have a beach but our view looked out on the beach of the other campground in the area, which caters to kids. If you have kids, go there. If you like peace and quiet, stay at Mission Bay. The park is secure, easy to get in and out of and close to all attractions. Cable and WiFi were both OK. It is an OK park and we would stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.
