Pomo RV Park & Campground, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park based on previous ratings and on the fact that we do not like rustic campgrounds. This is a pretty park with nice owners who keep an eye on things. We liked the fact that each site has bushes between them which makes for privacy. We checked out other parks/campgrounds in the area, and while pretty, most were too rustic for us. We had excellent cable and Wi-Fi here. The showers are ok and the laundry is excellent. We would definitely return to this park and would recommend it over others in the area. We camped at Pomo RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Oroville / Feather Falls Casino KOA, Oroville, California

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This small park next door to a casino is beautifully landscaped. The cable and Wi-Fi are OK. We had some road noise from our back-in site. It is spotlessly maintained, easy to locate and we would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Oroville / Feather Falls Casino KOA in a Motorhome.

Dos Reis Regional Park, Lathrop, California

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park gets a 10 for peace and quiet. It is easy to get to from Hwy 5. You can see the highway about a mile away, but there is no noise from the traffic. There is no cable TV or Wi-Fi, but you won't miss it. There are a multitude of birds and ground squirrels to watch. There is an on-site camp host and the rules are enforced which is nice. The showers are a little funky, but the water is hot. The county keeps the grass mowed and everything is nicely maintained. We will be back. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Sugar Barge Resort & Marina, Bethel Island, California

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and this park continues to be one of our favorites. It is located on an island with a country feel. You would never guess you are in the middle of a huge metropolis area. The sites have a cement patio slab but you park on grass which can be muddy and soft in rainy weather. No cable TV and okay Wi-Fi. The park is well maintained, but it is the quiet country peacefulness that is it's greatest asset. You should make reservations because it is a popular rally park and will fill up most weekends. We will be back. We camped at Sugar Barge Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Auburn Gold Country RV Park, Auburn, California

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

It is so strange that there are no nice RV parks in and around Sacramento. That being said, this is the nicest, nearest park. We were visiting relatives in Lincoln Hills and did not like any of the other options. This park is an old KOA. There are some permanents, but they are in good condition. We felt safe and secure enough to leave the rig while visiting all day. Showers and bathrooms were nice and clean. No cable but we did get some channels with the antenna. Wi-Fi was ok. We would stay again when in the area. We camped at Auburn Gold Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park is immaculate and it is one of our favorites. The bathrooms and private showers are exceptional and so are the laundry facilities. The sites are nice with astro turf between each site. Streets and sites are paved with wide streets that allow for parking. Excellent cable and Wi-Fi and an excellent rate. It couldn't be nicer. Just an excellent park all around. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Motorhome.

Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA), Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean and nicely maintained park. There are a lot of permanent workers here but the rigs are all nice and the sites are kept clean and neat. Management couldn't have been nicer. Excellent cable and Wi-Fi and although you can see the freeway, noise is at a minimum. We would stay here again. We camped at Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA) in a Motorhome.

Boulder Creek RV Resort, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at this park as we travel between LA and Reno. The dirt sites are nice enough. The staff is very friendly. Wi-Fi is excellent with fair cable. The views from the park are beautiful. We did not want to take our rig into Death Valley so we made a day trip in our tow vehicle. It was a long day but we got to do and see what we wanted. It was nice to be able to come home to hot showers and TV. We will stay here again. We camped at Boulder Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Desert View RV Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This small pretty park is one of our favorites. It is quiet and has tall blooming oleander bushes between each site for privacy. You are escorted to your site by super friendly hosts where registration takes place. Excellent WiFi and although there is no cable, we were able to get several nice channels with our antenna. This is our second visit and we will definitely return when passing through the area. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cocopah Bend RV and Golf Resort, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge park with lots of amenities and activities, including a golf course. The big draw here in winter is the weather. The location of the park does not render it convenient for an over-night stay but it is popular with snowbirds. There is excellent cable but the Wi-Fi, which is free, is non-existent. You would think a park of this size would have a better set up. Laundry and bathroom facilities are nice. Sites are close together and it is basically a large dirt parking lot. If you don't golf and don't like lots of sunshine, this isn't the place for you. We camped at Cocopah Bend RV and Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Mesa Spirit RV Resort (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We were disappointed with our stay this year. The price does not include Wi-Fi or cable, which you have to call the cable company and order to have it installed!! We have never had to call a cable company before. Plus there is a $4 fee for garbage pickup!! Too many add ons for what you get, which is basically a huge paved parking lot. The spaces are very tight although this time of year, there are a lot of empty spaces. We noted the surrounding neighborhood is starting to decline. We aren't sure if we will return in the future. There are just too many other parks to choose from and nothing special offered by this one. If you like lots of park activities, this is the place for you. We camped at Mesa Spirit RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This used to be a KOA but is now Good Sam. It is basically just a dirt parking lot, but the cable is adequate and the WiFi is excellent. There is some noise from the freeway but it didn't keep us up. Office staff were very friendly and we would definitely spend the night here again on a future trip. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite parks mostly because it is close to a wonderful beach. I totally disagree with the previous post. The park is well maintained and its workers keep it immaculate. The bathrooms and showers are always spotless. The landscaping this year is poor; not by fault of the park but because of the Texas drought. The sites are spacious with nice patios and plenty of room for a truck or toad. There are a multitude of activities for winter Texans. The office staff tries it best to deal with a very busy season. This was our fourth winter here and we intend to return. The only faults we find are an unheated pool and poor Wi-Fi at times when it is busy. Yes, they did build a dog run, but this was voted as the most needed item by the park guests. We camped at Pioneer Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for just one night on our way across Texas. The park is nice with spacious sites, although it is not what you would call a destination park. It is very quiet. The owners were very nice and welcoming, and provided us with a coupon for our next stop in Fort Stockton that saved us 20%. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.
