Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here, site was very nice and facilities are well maintained. Check in was quick and efficient. Our site was a pull through, plenty long. It did have a slight downslope, we had to fully extend front jacks to level. Power, water, Wi-Fi, and cable TV all in good working order. The colorful flowerbeds are beautiful. Yes, there are train tracks behind the campground, but the train did not bother us. It rumbles, but no horn tooting. We would be sitting outside in our spacious "front yard," and barely noticed the passing train. For us, a non issue. We would definitely stay here again if passing through. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on/off I-90, resulting in convenience and some road noise. We had a pull through, 50 amp. Our first night, our EMS was triggered a dozen times due to low voltage. The campground was full, it was very hot, and happened from dinnertime to early evening. It was very annoying, but very glad for the EMS. We were there for a week, and it only happened that first evening. We had cable at our site, but had a clear view for roof sat dish. The Wi-Fi was free with a good signal. The laundry was adequate, but there was no info on length of time for w/d cycles, causing us to constantly check status. A sign on the wall would help. There isn't anything here for kids, no pool or playground. The staff was efficient and friendly, offering suggestions for things to do in the area. We would use this campground again. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Osens RV Park & Campground, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We called ahead for a reservation, glad we did as they were full and turning several drop-ins away. Bring cash or check, no credit cards. The road: 2/10ths of a mile to this cg, is very narrow. No way two vehicles can pass each other, but we did not encounter another vehicle while in the motorhome. We had a great site, long, pretty level with a huge front yard. The utilities were in good working order, but the sewer is pretty far back. We just positioned the RV based on that. The owners, and staff were pleasant and helpful. The cable TV and free Wi-Fi were excellent, Verizon signal was strong. The showers were private and clean. The trash area requires going up 3 steps. Overall: it was quiet, clean, and easy on/off I-90. We would return if ever in the area. We camped at Osens RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Absaroka Bay RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The owner and staff are pleasant and helpful, suggesting a non road construction route to the park. We stayed 1 week, lots to see and do in the area. The campground was our base, we did not spend lots of time here. Our site was ok, level with good hookups, but not very long. We just fit, barely. We had to ask our neighbor to move his truck, we could not navigate the motorhome out of our site. The showers and toilets were clean, but there is just a curtain for privacy, no thank you. Laundry had a good number of machines. The wi-Fi was free and good, with the exception of our final night. We had a good Verizon signal, and clear sky for the satellite dish. We would return, decent campground reasonably priced. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as an overnight, easy on/off I-90. Our site was long enough, barely, to keep the toad attached. The site was fairly level, good electric and cable, didn't hook up water or sewer. The bath house was clean, but the showers lacked privacy, flimsy curtain. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Broken Arrow Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay, there is a lot to like here, but it is not perfect. It is off the main road, so very quiet at night. The sites are long and level, with adequate grass space between sites. The owners and staff are hard working, friendly, and helpful. There was entertainment one night with root beer floats, free. There was a nice selection of dvd's in the office that can be borrowed. There is no cable TV, but clear sky for satellite dish. We had a strong Verizon signal. The Wi-Fi was free, but weak. What we didn't like; the dumpsters were filled the day we arrived, and no trash truck for 4 days. The trash was overflowing, smelled, and flies: making sitting outside our coach unpleasant. One night the water from the cg into the RV was dirty brown. It cleared up a few hours later. The negatives were only temporary issues, we enjoyed our stay. We camped at Broken Arrow Campground in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Wall, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground while touring the Badlands and the Missile Base. Our price reflects full hookups + cable + tax. The sewer connection was in the very back of the site, so you need to either position your RV or have a long sewer hose. Our site was level, and all utilities in good working order. We had a good Verizon signal, and clear sky for roof satellite. We would use this campground again. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Al's Oasis Campground, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Our campsite was adequate, utilities in good working order, good cable selection, and strong free Wi-Fi. So why the 5 rating? Lack of customer service! We called the day prior to arrival, asking for a pull through. During that phone call, I asked the camp worker for directions. She could not give me the exit number, although it turned out it didn't matter, there were billboards galore with that information. We arrive early afternoon, and the office is locked. Not a soul around, no check in packet, no campground map: nothing. We walked around and found the pull through sites, and took one. We got set up. I went to the office later in the day, and was told that the site we picked was assigned to another camper, and we should move to our assigned site. Now how were we supposed to know what site was ours when there was no information available upon arrival? In the end, we did not have to move, but it was aggravating to say the least. We will try another campground the next time in the area. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great 1-2 night stay campground, easy on/off I 90 and close to Mitchell shopping and tourist stops. Our rate includes Passport America discount w/50 amp. Our site was a long, level pull thru, with all utilities in excellent working order. The staff was welcoming and helpful. There is a pool and small playground. We did not use the showers, so can't comment on those. laundry open 24 hrs. The wifi was free and we had a good signal. Good Verizon, clear sky for roof sat dish. There are several campgrounds in the area, we were very satisfied with our choice. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tower Campground, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a difficult park to review, the pros and cons are many. Pros: great location to access downtown Sioux Falls, bike path. We had a large, level, shaded back in site with good utilities. Each site had a picnic table, but no fire ring. The owners are friendly, and working hard to enlarge and improve the campground. The cons: noise, noise, and more noise. I guess the heat was a blessing, as we ran our A/C with windows closed and blocked out some of the trains, planes, and automobile racket. The Wi-Fi is virtually worthless, so if Internet is important to you, bring your own access. Our weekly rate with tax was $160, very reasonable. We will use this campground again when we need to do our Sioux Falls business. We camped at Tower Campground in a Motorhome.

On-Ur-Wa RV Park, Onawa, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We used this park for an overnight stop. Friendly, helpful staff - easy check in and escort to site. Site was a pull through, long enough to keep car hooked up. Level gravel sites, but staff asked us to use jack pads as there had been heavy rains the day before our arrival, making the ground soft. The showers were clean, adequate, but nothing special. We asked about where to eat - walking distance - and directed to a local restaurant and enjoyed a good chicken dinner. We would use this campground again whenever passing through. We camped at On-Ur-Wa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kellogg RV Park, Kellogg, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This park is exactly what we want for an overnight stop. Right off the highway, easy check in, reasonable rate, long, level pull-throughs, good utilities, and basic but clean bath houses. Small playground and a large grassy area for kids to play. We would stop here again. We camped at Kellogg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We are very disappointed with this campground, and our decision to stay there. $52 is outrageous for what is offered. First, the good - the staff was very friendly, long pull-through so we could stay connected, and good Wi-Fi. That is it, and not worth anywhere near what they charge. Our site was long, but very narrow and not level. The shower was disgusting, wads of hair blocking the drain that served both stalls. One stall did not even have a curtain. We are fulltimers, and have stayed in lots of places over the years, ranging from free to lots of money; we don't mind paying if you get good amenities, not the case here. We will not come back. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Timbercrest Camp and RV Park (formerly Kandels' Camping & RV Park), Millersburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground as our base while visiting the area. The sites are adequate, hookups in good working order, picnic table and fire ring at site. It is off the beaten path a bit, but location is good for sightseeing in the area and it is quiet at night. Verizon signal was strong, roof satellite dish had clear view, and the campground free Wi-Fi was very good. The shower and bathrooms were clean, the laundry consisted of one washer, one dryer. A good, no frills park, if you don't need a lot of extras this park is a good value. We camped at Timbercrest Camp and RV Park (formerly Kandels' Camping & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Fox Den Acres, New Stanton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground for an overnight stop while traveling the PA Turnpike. The signage to the campground is excellent. We took a previous reviewers suggestion, and stopped well before the office so we could make the turn down to the overnight section. Staff was friendly, but we did not get any Wi-Fi info, and nothing listed on the handout. We only hooked up electric, good voltage. We did not use the bath house, but it is a long way from the lower section. We used our own, so not a problem. The exit road needs work, it is gravel with huge potholes, and a terrible angle to see oncoming traffic to enter the roadway. Overall, a good campground. We would use this park again. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.
