Acorn Acres Campground, Benton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Found this place earlier this year. Hidden off 118 down a long dirt road. Annie the owner was very nice older woman. Most sites are level and on the large size. They have W/E/S sites and down. Two ponds for fishing and swimming. A large pavilion which also has a restaurant that Annie runs. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 11 am and Dinner Saturday night 5 pm to 8 pm. Good home cooked meals at affordable prices. Great for when you just don't feel like cooking. A couple of play grounds are located in a few spots while not huge playsets my two little ones had a blast. Annie has started to upgrade a lot. New Electric hook ups are going in. More sewer lines and just fixing the place up. Most of the work is done by seasonals who have become like one giant family. My family and a buddy of mines family spent Memorial Day weekend there and fell in love with the place so much we became seasonals. The campground is quiet for the most part. They do allow golf carts, quads, dirt bikes, and scooters with rules about going slow. Annie does make it a point to remind people about the speed restriction. This places is on an upswing and worth the stop. For $26 a night for full hookup you can't beat it. Also Annie doesn't nickel & dime you for each kid or dog like some places. We camped at Acorn Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.
