Swan Bay Resort, Alexandria Bay, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

Initially we were assigned a site close to the river. We asked to be moved as this site was very muddy due to recent rains. Second site was dry and still had an OK view of the river. The campground is very pretty and clean. Spaces are large and easy to get into. Roads are wide and easy to navigate (we had a 45' motorhome). Park rules said we had to drop our small utility trailer in the trailer lot. This was easy to do and kept the park uncluttered. The wifi didn't work the first day, but was excellent the next 4 days. We lost power, as did others we were traveling with for 6 hours one day. Our friends had their auto gen start set, but we didn't. We had left the AC units running as it was hot. Our batteries were almost ruined by the time the power came back on. The park was only half full at the time. I don't know if it was a park issue or a power company issue, although some people in the campground did not lose power. By the way, the quoted price does not include a $10 adder if you use 50 amps ($5 for 30 amps). No we didn't get a refund for the 50 amps adder. Even though the wifi had issues and we almost had to replace our batteries, I'd stay there again. The park is that pretty. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

A Big Wheel RV Park, Saint Marys, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this campground for 3 days as we explored the area. We were in a 45' motorhome and towing our stacker trailer so needed a long pull through. Site 1 at Big Wheel fit the bill. Site 1 is a very nice gravel site, although there were quite a few trees I worried about. The park is nice and clean and the staff was helpful. It's a nice campground for an overnight or a longer stay. We backed our motorhome and trailer out of site 1 because I doubted I could have pulled through and made it around some of the turns in the campground. Backing up from site 1 is very easy though so not a problem. We camped at A Big Wheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina, Little River, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for 5 days with a rally. We had a pull through that was about about 1' too short for our 45' motorhome and trailer. Most sites are pull through. Power was good. Site was good sized and include a concrete parking area and concrete pad for a picnic table. It's out of the way for a one night stay, but a good location to stay and see Myrtle Beach. We camped at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina in a Motorhome.

White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort, Stella, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said this campground is predominently for seasonal guests. It's a very large campground and they do have quite a few sites for transient guests. The seasonal sites were very well kept and actually added to the good looks of the campground. Every thing about the park told me they know what they are doing and care about the campground. Power was excellent, landscaping beautiful, drainage very well laid out and streets wide and tarred. We had site L103 which was long enough for out 45' motorhome and out stacker trailer with out disconnecting. There was still lots of space on our lot for the car when I pulled it out of the stacker. All the transient sites appear to be wide and the same length. They also have a nice pool and playground for the kids. We enjoyed sitting out on their dock which has a covered lanai and 3 fish cleaning stations. They also have a boat ramp and storage spaces for boats and trailers when not in use. The office staff was nice and the store had lots of stock. Although the site was grass and it rained hard, the motorhome and trailer didn't sink in at all. The drainage is that good. We intially asked for 3 days which we changed to 8 days when we found how nice the campground and area were. We camped at White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Balsam Woods Campground, Abbot Village, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here based on the reviews. Previously we had stayed right in Greenville. I don't think the reviews reflect the reality at this campground. Not to say it's bad, but it is just OK. Our 50' site barely fit our 45' motorhome. It was really just a very small 45' site. We had to ark across the street or else loose our entire side yard. Wifi was very poor to non existent. Our site was nicely shaded and it had a picnic table. The campground should put a sign on Pond road prior to and not after the entrance. You are coming down a hill and their sign is hidden behind trees until it is too late to make the turn. With no where to turn around we had to unhook at the farm just beyond. We camped at Balsam Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Quebec City KOA, Saint Nicolas, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We had a deluxe patio site. It was really quite a nice site. It had a concrete patio, table and 4 chairs. Although it was was on one of main roads interior to the park, the vegetation blocked the view. It was billed as a 65' site but it was 55' so our car had to be parked across the front of our motorhome. The only negative comment I have is that the 50 amp pedestal power consistently had one side of the 110 lower then the other. We were seeing almost unloaded voltages of 104 vac. We were unable to run much on that side of the line. I would also point out that the signage on which interior roads to use coming into and leaving our site was lacking. They should clearly delineate which roads are to be used for which direction. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay in Quebec with 2 of our grand kids. Kids loved the ferry trip with and without the car. With the car, 2 adults and 2 grandkids it was $10-11 one way. They loved Val Cartier water park. They also loved Montmercy Falls. We camped at Quebec City KOA in a Motorhome.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very convenient to I-75. We spent 1 night here while traveling down 75. Our site was more then long enough for our 45' motorhome and Tahoe without disconnecting. We only used electricity and no water or sewer. The electric seemed a little weak. I wonder what would have happened if the park was full? I would also guess this would not be a good overnighter if it were raining. Our spot was grass and if it had rained I think we would have sunk in. In summary, great price. Great place for the night if dry. If raining I'm not sure. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cajun Palms RV Resort, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 nites. There were very few other campers in the park. I suspect it is quite full on weekends. We stayed here in a 45' motorhome and our space was easy to get to and to leave. I-10 was under construction in this area and the work extended almost to the entrance of the campground. The roads were not very good, but they were navigable. We toured the area while there and enjoyed the shrimp Po-Boys. We didn't use any of the facilities in the campground, but the pools looked nice. It is a very good spot to spend a night while traveling on I-10 and I suspect it's a fun place on weekends. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We were in site 22 which was somewhat unlevel side to side and front to back. It was a side of the road pull-through, and it had a nice view of the marina. It also had a nice fire pit and covered picnic table. We were able to receive HD sat. There are great views from many sites in the campground. They suggest, and it helps, to park away and downhill from the services to get the most level area on this site. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is right on the river. Almost all spaces are long pull throughs that face the river. Watching the traffic is very interesting. 3 nights we had a long pull through and the 4th and 5th night (we decided to stay longer) we had to switch to one of the few short back in sites. Pads are concrete under the motorhome and gravel elsewhere. Pads are narrow so if it rains you are likely walking in water and mud. This is an excellent campground and if we are ever in the area it's where we'll stay. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground located right on the Gulf of Mexico. We have a 45' motorhome and had a pull through site that wasn't long enough to stay connected but that had more than adequate space for the towed vehicle. The entire campground is sand or gravel. All connections were in the right spot and everything worked. They have a fairly long pier out into the gulf that can be used for fishing or just looking. We really enjoyed our stay. Other campgrounds in the area also have a nice view of the Gulf but are across a main road. Ho-Hum is right on the gulf. The trees blocked both satellite dish antennas. We did receive quite a few over the air signals. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.

Suwannee River Rendezvous, Mayo, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground off the beaten path. We had a long pull through which easily fit our 45' motorhome and tow car without disconnecting. We enjoyed our walk down to the river, where we sat on their bench and watched the boat traffic. The pool looked inviting and clean although we didn't use it. There were not as many bugs as I would have expected for this area of Florida. Negatives are that the office is a hike from where you have to park your RV. They told us to be sure to enter at the sign that said rv's, but a gentleman was on a golf cart in front of the sign so I almost went too far. I was grossed out at the trash in our fire ring. There was a trash bin 40' from the fire ring. Why couldn't the folks have disposed of their trash in the bin?? We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Motorhome.

Durango KOA, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in a number of KOA's and this one was one of the better ones. We had a premium site (Pull thru, 50 amp) right on the creek. The sites could have easily been made more level, but they were level enough. The pizza from the store was made to order and delivered to our spot. It was very convenient and also delicious. There were many things for the kids to do. Pool, mini golf, explore the creek, look in the store etc. On our site the sewer connection ran slightly up hill which was too bad. Overall had a great time and will be back again. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

If you have a motorhome on a premium site you are advised to call them so they can lead you on a very circuitous path out on a very narrow one way road.. They did lead us out, but I think we could have found a much shorter way out with our 45' motorhome.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

We had stayed at Portal 2 years ago and were looking forward to staying there again. Many things stayed the same. Nice sites, clean bathrooms, good location, but something had changed. We felt alienated as a renter in an ownership resort. This started during checkin when we were told any damage to the lot would be a minimum of a $150 charge. Then we all had to wear orange bands while in the park. We saw no other orange bands, so I assume all others at the pool were owners. And the "others" didn't talk to us. We own 2 lots a one of the premier ownership parks in the country. We do not make renters wear bands. We go out of our way to be nice to renters. Why? Because they are your next owners. We did not experience this level of segregation 2 years ago. We will find another nice place to stay next time we're in Moab. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.
