Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA, Visalia, California

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Older park in a residential neighborhood. Very quiet at night. It was extremely hot while we were there, so we didn't sit outside. Close to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and my family. We had a shaded spot with two trees. Electrical was excellent. We kept two air conditioners going all the time. Laundry is clean. You pay in advance and get a laundry card, which covers both wash and dry. $10 deposit for card, which you get back if you return it. Store was adequate, but you are close to downtown with all amenities. We would stay here again. We camped at Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Hanford, Tulare, and Visalia with Fresno close by. Lots of stores in town. In a residential area but very quiet at night. Sizzler in Hanford is excellent as is Superior Dairy, also in Hanford.

Park of the Sierras - Escapees Park (members only), Coarsegold, California

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We have been members for a number of years, but had never stayed in a park. Started out with one week, ended up with four. Lovely site on a corner lot. Everyone was very friendly, the cat loved the birds and squirrels running around outside, and didn't see any snakes! People were very friendly. We had to pay for our electricity, but it only ran about $38 per week, which was due to air on continually. Very hot there. Would come back but only in the spring and fall. Yosemite is about an hour's drive - take 140 up along the Merced River. Falls were full. We were very comfortable there except the heat. We camped at Park of the Sierras - Escapees Park (members only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a casino up the road towards the town of Coarsegold. Great breakfast buffet every Sunday. I even won at the slots. Falls were very full in Yosemite. Also took a trip up to Huntington and Shaver Lakes - beautiful. You have to go into Oakhurst for groceries - about 20 minutes. Eat at El Cid's, Sweet Water Steaks, and either Vons or Raley's. Buy gas at the casino gas station. Very cheap. Fresno about 30 minutes down 141.

Delta Shores Resort and Marina, Isleton, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $2.00
Overall Rating:

Although this is our home park, it was the first time staying here. We usually stay at the sister park. We liked the park very much. Quiet at night, no one close by. A little far to go for groceries, gas, etc. Rio Vista is about 15 minutes away. Management was very nice. All hookups are at the very rear. Barely got our 30 amp to reach. Only problem was that the trash at the cans was not picked up. Every trash bin was full the whole time we were there. Not sure what the problem was. They finally put out another wagon. We had full hookups and were quite comfortable. Drive at entrance is steep. Not bad coming in, but a pain going out due to on-coming traffic. Just be careful and go slow. We will be back. We camped at Delta Shores Resort and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

San Diego Metro KOA, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

After spending a week in the desert, this was perfect. Shady, lots of room, beautiful plants and trees. So much to do in San Diego, we ended up spending a week instead of 3 days. Laundry is nice and very reasonable. Right off the freeway, but didn't hear any noise where we were. Nice store and restaurant with seating outside. No near-by grocery, but a Target right up Sweetwater that had everything we needed. Will come back. Only drawback is no weekly or monthly rate. Daily rate is high. We camped at San Diego Metro KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Catalina Spa RV Resort, Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Along with the $20 per night Coast to Coast points, there is a $22 per night resort fee. This is a huge park, easy to get lost in! All sites are back-in. Ours was easy because there was a cross street right in front of it. Laundry was nice, but very expensive. This is way out of town, but the town has pretty much anything you would need including two major grocery stores, pharmacies, and a date farm just down the road for freshly picked dates. We camped at Catalina Spa RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs. This is a sno-bird park with many spaces, all back-in. Flowers and cactus are pretty and well-cared for. Gate at entrance with code. Dish service worked well, as did air. Nice view of snow-covered mountains and a nice drive up 293 to Idylwild. I don't think we would stay here again due to the distance from town and horrible winds.

Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground, Buellton, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Parked us right across from the laundry at my request. Nice site, fresh cookies at registration, pool looked nice. We only stayed one night. Had dinner at Split Pea Andersons across the main street. Albertson's Grocery right down the road, across the freeway. No noise. Just a really nice park that we stay in anytime we are headed down the coast. Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort, Oceano, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park is on the dunes at Pismo Beach. Nice walking path to the Dunes. Our space was level and sunny. We met family there and had spaces right next to each other. I tried to use my RPI guest pass, but since it is an Encore Resort, they don't accept guest passes, which meant I had to pay the extra for our guests. Laundry was small, both dryers out of order, and only one washer working. We have stayed here several times and like the park. Would come back again. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Betabel RV Park, San Juan Bautista, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite parks for a weeks stay or just overnight. We have never had any trouble leveling our rig, so not sure what to say about that. It is clean, friendly, laundry is clean, quiet, and Gilroy is very close for shopping. We were only here one night this trip, but check in was quick, and our site was lovely. Didn't unhook this trip, but have in the past. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yreka RV Park, Yreka, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Right off the 5 Freeway, this park is great for an overnight or an extended visit. We were only here one night, but relatively quiet and nice. We have stayed here before. Only complaint was that site was not level, but since we didn't unhook, it didn't matter. If we were staying longer, would have needed blocks to level. We camped at Yreka RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great RV Park. It is clean, lots of trees, shuttle to pretty much anywhere in town and the casino. Laundry is $3.25 a load wash and dry. Cable is okay. We always stay here on our way north thru Oregon. Spaces are wide and long with grass in between and a picnic table. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The buffet at the casino is very nice. On Friday and Saturday they have all-you-can eat seafood including crab legs and shrimp. Desserts are yummy. They also always serve prime rib and have a Mexican food bar, pizza, etc. Don't go away hungry. The River Rock Spa is amazing. They offer everything including a great hair cut, facial, and mini-pedi. Lots of slots for those who want to play, along with table games, entertainment, etc.

Casey's Riverside RV Park, Westfir, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

No better place than Casey's RV Park to kick back and relax. Right on the Willamette River, trees turning color, river full - what could be more relaxing. Yes there are trains, but after the first night you don't hear them. Close enough to drive to Eugene and Springfield, and Oakridge has everything you might need. Salt Creek Falls is up the road. Yes, the grass died, but it is coming back with the rain we had. No big deal. So much more to see. We camped at Casey's Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Spur RV Park, Silverton, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park in a great little town of Silverton. Close enough to Salem, but far enough away to avoid the traffic. We stayed in the new section this time. Would have been a 10, but the gravel/rock up on top is a pain. Really no place to walk without walking on rock, unless you put down a mat. It is very quiet up there - no highway noise. Laundry is clean $2.00 to wash and $1.50 to dry. We were upset because we stayed 28 days, but didn't get a monthly rate. Wanted to stay longer, but not allowed, even tho' there were plenty of empty spaces. We will return, but did decide we didn't want to live in the park. We camped at Silver Spur RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Travel Inn Resort, Elma, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park behind a more modern park in Elma. We have stayed here before and feel it has gone downhill over the years. Mostly dirt and dead grass spaces with full hookups. It still is a great place to stay overnight. Very quiet and peaceful. All sites are back-in. We were told to choose a space and set up. Lots of people there - it was almost full. A lot of full-time RVs, which were old, but neatly cared for. We only stayed overnight, so we didn't do anything. There are some fast food places for a quick bite to eat. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Travel Inn Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pioneer Trails RV Park, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful RV Park with lots of spaces in the pine trees. It is on the road to Deception Pass, which is a beautiful area of Washington. The park is only a short drive from downtown Anacortes, the ferry terminals, and the stores in Mt. Vernon. It is very popular so reservations are a must. Laundry is a bit small for the size of the park - $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry. Very quiet and dark at night. Lots of tall trees and ferns everywhere. So peaceful. Our site was a little hard to back into and get out of, due to the trees, but the space across from us was empty, so my husband pulled into it and backed into our space. Getting out, we used the same space to pull out. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park. Spaces in KOA back-in are wide and long. Good utilities including water pressure. Lots of trees. Just came from a cement jungle in Canada, so this was a welcome treat. Trash dumpsters are few and far between, but we just dumped when we went out. Very friendly staff, no TV, but good wi-fi either with your Verizon Mi-Fi or their's, which is $15 for a week. Very good signal. Not too far from Burlingame or Concrete. Just a very peaceful place to relax. Lots of kids, but hardly any noise. We camped at Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
