River Oaks Riverfront RV Resort, Blanco, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I give this park a "neutral" rating. If you went to the Hill-Country and put an RV loop in the middle of 5 aces, you would duplicate this park. It is quiet and the spaces are clean -- but nothing really great. The picture shows river front, but I think the "regulars" might be the closest to any water (which I would estimate to be around 2 or 3 football fields away or so). We camped at River Oaks Riverfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The park was very clean and indeed most of the sites had a great view of the lake. Unfortunately, the lake was up over 7 ft (due to recent snows according to management) and so a few of the sites were closed and the biggest fishing pier was not accessible. Most sites were level. My only complaint was that less than 1/2 of the sites had a sewer hookup so we had to dump once over the weekend. (Management indicated that more sites would have sewer upgrades sometime in 2010). Restrooms were clean and showers had hot water (though only 1 of the 2 worked). Many of the sites had covered patios and were quite ample. I would definitely stay here if I am in the area again. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Lakeview RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was very clean and well maintained. Swimming pool and spa were both clean (and a 2nd indoor spa was a nice touch). Grounds (including nice palm trees near pool) were well landscaped. Convenient to Reliant Stadium for us. Relaxation center had popcorn, use of computer, printer and nice view of a man-made lake. "Community grills" were clean and very convenient. My only negative is I thought the daily rate for "water view" was a bit high. We camped at Lakeview RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Marina Beach RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Good marks overall. Spaces were not cramped at all and there was a nice table at each space. The spaces all looked level and the landscaping was a nice touch. Clubhouse had TV, puzzles, books and a pool table. Restrooms and showers were very clean. The trolley passes every hour (but only operates from 10am to 4pm). Park is conveniently located to marina and the beach is only about 1/2 mile away. The pool was nice. (But the SPA was inoperable while we were here!) Park manager was extremely friendly and very helpful in pointing out the "local attractions." (I had a chance to look at 3 other RV parks in the area and this site definitely had more ample space for each RV.) Would give higher marks, but thought that rate was a bit high. But then again, summer rates at the coast are usually not a bargain. Would stay again. We camped at Marina Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sea Breeze RV Park, Portland, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The sites were average size, however, we had to backup within 3 feet of another RV because they were a few feet into our "designated" space. The site did have a nice picnic table (and "community" grills were available to use). The bathrooms and showers were clean. Our grandaughter thoroughly enjoyed the clean pool (and the 4-5 person spa was also clean). Their "clubhouse" had ping-pong table and other games available. They had "karoake night" on Saturday in the clubhouse. Used WI-FI all weekend with no problems. We were parked somewhat close to the bay and the view was nice (though not all spots have a good view of the bay). They have a small pier which is nice to have. The breeze in this resort made it a nice stay (compared to what we saw in Corpus, this is a great alternative). Overall, we give this resort good marks. We camped at Sea Breeze RV Park in a Motorhome.

America's Best Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Close proximity to the "strip" in Branson. The sites were a good size (but many like mine were uneven). Restrooms and showers were very clean. Laundromat was also clean. We enjoyed the spa (but a bit disappointed that pool was closed). Granddaughter enjoyed the swings and playground. Staff was extremely friendly. I would give this park a higher rating, but thought the price (for 4 adults) was a bit high. We camped at America's Best Campground in a Motorhome.
