Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This would be a wonderful park if the campsites were level, side to side and front to back. We got a back in spot with our 35' fifth wheel that required the front to set completely down on the ground, while the back end was way up in the air. The sewer dump was toward the front of the campsite, so you had to make it drain uphill. We had an issue getting our fifth wheel back up off the ground, and high enough to connect to the truck when we were ready to leave. It wasn't worth the trouble! LOL! If I can't get a pull through or a back in with an uphill slope in the future, I will likely not return. HOWEVER...the campground is pristine, very clean, very well maintained. The WiFi worked well at first, then slowed down to a crawl, then became totally ineffective, until the power went out, then when the power came back on, all of a sudden it worked really well again! LOL!!!! We like to take our first trip out for the year, close to home just in case we have issues with the RV, Really and truly, if they had just put as much effort in making their campsites level as they did with everything else in this park, it would be a 5 star resort. They have a nice pool, but man was it crowded for Memorial Weekend. They will not allow patio rugs or tents that cover the grass and will fine you up to $200 if you park on the grass. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Morrilton RV Park, Morrilton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old, old KOA that has basically gone by the wayside. The road leading in and out of the campground is a bit vague, you feel like you are entering a service station and trespassing through their parking lot to get to it, watch all the pot holes, because they are cavernous. The park is right next to the interstate, so very noisy. It's a bit rundown, their some campers there that appear to be full time renters, the camp spots are gravel and a bit rocky, semi level. It was okay for one night, wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay. We camped at Morrilton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Creekwood Farm RV Park, Waynesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located near I40 and has easy access on and off the interstate. The sign to the park is partially missing and we missed the entrance and had to make a U-turn to come back to it. Although our site was advertised as a pull-through, the sites are only pull-through if you get there first (which we did, luckily). Someone else could have beat you to the spot and used the pull-through function of the site, then you would have to back in on the other end of it, likely not having enough room to leave your vehicle hooked up. The park is very clean, and has a beautiful stream. Would love to come back and spend some time here. There seemed to be a lot of permanent campers, although the sites were very clean and presentable, so not bothersome. We just happened to be staying during their October festival, was a great evening, but we got rained on, LOL! We camped at Creekwood Farm RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Musicland Kampground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful, wooded, lots of shade, hilly and a bit tight, but well worth the trouble, their staff will help you get your RV parked. Spots are level, mostly gravel, large pool, nice laundry room, adequate WiFi service. Campground is gated. Perfect location to al the main attraction in town and easy access using side roads to avoid main traffic on 76. We camped in a 30' TT with one large slide, used our own satellite dish and our own restrooms/showers. We camped at Musicland Kampground in a Travel Trailer.

Charlestown State Park, Charlestown, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The Indiana DNR does not mow all areas between campsites, they try to preserve the natural eco system; as a result, this promotes an excess of insects, particularily ticks, this park has the worst infestation of ticks I have ever seen anywhere. It would seem that they place more emphasis in preserving the natural eco system than in human health safetey. We camped here for an entire week during the height of the camping season, the park was probably only 5% full at any given time. If this park would put in a lodge, a swimming pool, control insects and mow more of the campground area, it would be an ideal park, but as it is, I will never return. We camped at Charlestown State Park in a Motorhome.
