Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Wind might have been from the south but the noise from the interstate was loud in the early morning when I am unable to go back to sleep. There are 4 washers and 6 driers in the laundry room that has a book exchange. Very big park that has many workers. The price I paid was for a W & E site. As others have mentioned there is a coutesy suv that you can use for up to an hour. Also you are escorted to your site. They have done everything possible to make the rv'er feel welcome. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Motorhome.

They claim 151 things to do around Rawlins. Walmart is at the other end of town. The prison is a worthwhile stop and should be a deterent to crime in my opinion.

Central Wyoming Fairgrounds, Casper, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

You camp at the edge of a parking lot that needs repaving. All sites are f/h/u but the honor system comes into play. $15 for electric only and double that for f/h/u. There is dead grass on the sites that you will track into your rv. There were less than 10 rv's there when I was there. Quiet for the most part but some use the parking lot as a short cut of some sort so there is traffic that is just passing thru. We camped at Central Wyoming Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Days End Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The site I was given was closest to the road/interstate so it was very noisy from before 6 AM to 11 PM. The back in site was almost level. There is a lot of traffic in this huge campground that has tent sites and cabins too. I walked all around and I was impressed by how clean the park is. We camped at Days End Campground in a Motorhome.

Sturgis RV Park , Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

You can only stay 2 nights at the Passport Rate. Full hookup and parked on a not real level concrete pad, not a problem if you have levelors. A ways off one of the main roads so it is very quiet especially at night. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dickinson Reservoir - Patterson Lake Rec Area , Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is a few miles off the interstate. I reserved site 11 on line. After I got parked I realized the trees blocked my dish. Walked up to the entrance booth to change sites and realized I could have paid half with my Senior Pass. I called the office on Monday and got a refund. You need to be in site 15 or higher to get your dish locked in. The sites are deep enough unless you have a 45ft trailer and don't plan to unhook or a huge m/h. There is no additional parking so you have to park in front of your unit. The water and electric hookups are not at the back of the site but on the left side. The sites are only about 15ft wide so you back in between the bushes which creates privacy. The branches are low in several areas on the sites and roads. The first night I didn't hear any trains but the 2nd night 2 came thru and they blow their horns at the close by crossing. They come thru during the day on and off. Lake view and walking all over the park. We camped at Dickinson Reservoir - Patterson Lake Rec Area in a Motorhome.

I went to the races at Southwest Speedway. Roosevelt National Park to the west about 30 miles. The Enchanted Highway is to the east and then south. Note route 22 to the south is smooth for about 25 miles and then horrible toward the state line.

Valley City Tourist Park, Valley City, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is either self service or you can call and pay for a site with a credit card. The person you talk to doesn't have any knowledge of how many or what sites are available. It looks like there are some long term residents there. The site I stayed in had the electrical pedistal directly behind the motorhome. The water and sewer hookup where way off to the passenger side. If I parked closer to them I would have needed an extension for the electical. The campground is a long narrow strip of land right on Main St as you enter town. I pulled off of Main St, disconnected the car and had to back around the sign to get to section with the longer sites. Probably would not be a good place to stay for a really long unit. There were a few potholes. I was under trees so I didn't even try the satellite dish or bother with the OTA antenna for 1 night. We camped at Valley City Tourist Park in a Motorhome.

Governors' RV Park and Campground, Casselton, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

As others have stated this is just a port in a storm. It looks like they added short back ins between the long pull thrus where grass used to grow. The long pull thrus have grass that is cut but the sites to the west need a lot of weed eating. There are holes in the roads. Extremely over priced for what you get. We camped at Governors' RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Red River Valley Fair, West Fargo, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I didn't actually stay here because there was only 1 site with overgrown weeds in the section where it is nothing but permanent residents. The electric box supplies power to 4 units and I don't think I had enough cord to reach. The section where the bathroom and pay station is seems better but it is also full of permanent residents. I doubt you can get a site in this park as there is obviously no limits to the amount of time you can stay and no reservations.. We camped at Red River Valley Fair in a Motorhome.

Alexandria Shooting Park and RV Campground, Alexandria, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park was nearly deserted the 2 days I was here. It is only about 2 miles from I-94 and 5 miles from downtown. You have to cross a private RR crossing. The first 24 hours, there were about 8 trains, the next 24 only 2. The train horn will wake you up. If the wind is from the north you hear the traffic from the interstate. On Monday night maybe 10 shooters were there until dark. On Tuesday it isn't open.

When it is open there is a person to pay who comes in about 5 PM, if no one is here you use a drop box. There is 1 washer and dryer ($1 each). You can find a site that is level without using levelors. We camped at Alexandria Shooting Park and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I really liked this fairgrounds; it might be the best one I have ever stayed at. Some road noise during the day and a few trains but very quiet at night. On Saturday there was a wedding and Saturday and Sunday there were riders on horses shooting blanks at targets. There is even a lake, all the grass is cut and the buildings are well maintained. Eau Claire Co. Expo Center, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a self service parking area on the left side of a sort of paved road. You park parallel to the grassy area to the left. There are 4 30A hookups right together in the center. I paid the $10 to reserve a space. Not sure how 4 rv's would use the 4 30A receptacles unless they parked parallel to each other. Also not sure who would referee if you arrived and the 30A receptacles were taken and you made a reservation. There is no one around. Extremely quiet at night (Friday night there was a band in a building that quit about 11 PM). Saturday afternoon a group set up at the pavilion near the bathrooms. They arrived early Sunday and started cooking. About mid day vans brought people in and they served what looked like several hundred lunch. There are water spigots at several of the buildings. You would have to have several hoses or drive on the grass to use them. There are tent and rv sites with or without 15A receptacles. I-94 is less than a mile away, We camped at Eau Claire Co. Expo Center in a Motorhome.

Marathon Park, Wausau, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

When you enter the park (which is huge) there are a couple of signs directing you to the camping loop. The park is convenient to the highway and downtown but not quiet during the day. I was in site 27 which looks at Stewart St which is very busy but does quiet down after 10PM. I made reservations so I was locked in to the site I reserved. The lower numbered sites are furthest from the highway and should be quieter. Some of them look like they might be semi permant people. I could see where water had been standing on part of my site before I arrived. From my experience I wouldn't make a reservation unless there was something going on at the park or in town. There are no hosts. There was a lot of traffic both foot and vehicle on the road I was camped on. The pine trees are plentiful and huge so you won't get a satellite TV signal here. We camped at Marathon Park in a Motorhome.

Oneida Casino RV Park, Green Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are paved, marked off on the shoulder on a semi busy 2 lane road that goes around behind the casino. People park nose to tail or nose to nose. I was in site 9 where I could get my roof mounted dish locked on to a satellite. It is right across from the airport but only a few passenger jets take off daily. The earliest I ever heard one was before 6 AM and the latest going on 11 PM. Depending on the length of your RV and where you park there might not be room for your toad. If so there is plenty of parking but you will have to walk to your vehicle. Security on foot, bike or vehicle passes by quite often. We camped at Oneida Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Since I was here 3 years ago the electrical has been updated with all new pedestals. There used to be a water line laying on the ground between the sites at the back of the site. Now there are 4 by 4 posts that are maybe 60 feet apart that have 4 spigots. So you might need extra hoses. Some muddy spots when it rains but the sites are all pretty level. Site 103 has a view of the tributary of the Miss River. Some train noise but not bad. Bring bug spray. We camped at Prairie Island Campground in a Motorhome.
