Kibby Creek Campground, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful landscaped park with nice grass everywhere. Pool looked nice. Store has huge selection of ice cream. There is a lot here that we didn't see because were only here 1 night. Definitely return. Owners obviously aim to please. Wifi was excellent. Solid Verizon also. We camped at Kibby Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Floodwood Campground, Floodwood, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful wooded park overlooking the river. Very quiet. $20. 30 amp electric. There was 1 other camper when we were here. We left money in the honor system slot. Did not use bathhouse. Too much canopy for satellite. Verizon was excellent. Entry and maneuver room is close but we did it without problem in a 40' motorhome. Love these city parks! We camped at Floodwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Crookston City Park, Crookston, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

What a bargain! Beautiful park with lots of room between sites. Beautiful grass around sites and huge field. About 4 pull throughs and 8 or so back in. 30 amp. No water or sewer at site. Not sure if there is somewhere else. Wifi seems strong but didn't use. Easy access and maneuver even with big rigs. We got here at 3 and the gent who collects the money came by at 6. There were 5 rigs here on a Tue. We camped at Crookston City Park in a Motorhome.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We liked it and will stay here again on our next trip. Folks were nice at check-in. Little close but have been in closer sites and paid more. Very convenient to town and the park. Brand new commercial washers and dryers. Wifi was pretty good all the time...better than I expect. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Medina City Campground, Medina, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I give it a 10 because it is a fantastic bargain. $15! 30 amp and water. Dump station nearby. Nice views of the plains. Quiet at night. Some trains in the day. Grass sites. Easy access to I-94. Town has seen better days but we had a decent burger at Gundy's, which is pretty much it. These city parks out west are a great deal. We camped at Medina City Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

What a deal! As others have said you just leave $15 in the box. We never saw anyone. Only RV here on a Thursday. Nice grounds. Packed dirt/grass. Very clean. 50 amp at some sites, 30 at others. Some pull throughs. Pool next door in city park. Verizon worked well. We camped at Washington City Park in a Motorhome.

Pershing State Park, Laclede, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with other positive reviews. Nicely maintained and quiet. Nice host. Easy access from US-36. We stayed in Site 6 with a 40' MH. Verizon was great. Rate higher because of $8 reservation fee. We were there on a Wednesday and there were plenty of sites avail. We camped at Pershing State Park in a Motorhome.

Americamps RV Resort, Ashland, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Haven't stayed here in years and what an improvement! Owners have really turned this park around. Very nice facility and staff. New pool almost finished. Sites were great. Highway noise may bother some...we barely noticed it. Free waffles most mornings; dinner on Thursdays; ice cream on Sundays. Memorial Day they had free food trucks and Sweet Frog ice cream. We will visit here a lot because of daughter's new house nearby. No negative items at all. We camped at Americamps RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherokee Campground, Blacksburg, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

What a great park for us. We don't use the amenities in the big chain parks so all we are looking for is a great place to park. This CG is owned by a great, personable guy who is proud of his facility. He keeps it neat and well maintained. He has decorated extensively for Christmas. There are a lot of workers and they keep their sites perfect. Wifi is excellent 24/7. Hookups are perfect. We love it here. We camped at Cherokee Campground in a Motorhome.

Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA, Doswell, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The lady who checked us in on 20 Nov (told i cant say her name) is a huge asset to this park. She goes out of her way to help folks get settled in and is available for questions. Cheery personality. The park itself is nice with well kept hookups and grounds. The major downside is many of the sites are VERY close together. We were where the cement pads are and there was barely any room between site. We moved when we checked in because we could not open our slide because of how close the other rig was. We liked the park but it was Thanksgiving week and there were never more than about 12 rigs. I give it a 9 for our stay. I doubt that I would stay there when Kings Dominion was open - has to be a zoo. The wifi was outstanding the entire week. But, there were not many rigs so maybe not a good test. We camped at Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA in a Motorhome.

The town of Ashland is neat. Trains go right through town and there are a lot of them. The model train store is interesting if you're a train person.

Nashville I-24 Campground, Smyrna, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay. Staff very nice. Park is very well maintained and picked up. Staff working all the time and easy to flag down if you have questions. All the hookups worked great. Some sites have satellite views.

Only negative is the usual: wifi never worked in 4 days. Strong signal but no internet access. We camped at Nashville I-24 Campground in a Motorhome.

We liked it here. Woodsy with nice scenary. Nicely maintained and good wifi. Quiet. They have a few sites with satellite views. Had no problems maneuvering with a 35' MH and TOAD. Owners could not be nicer. Definitely stay here again. We camped at Paducah / I-24 / Kentucky Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

Jonesburg Gardens Campground, Jonesburg, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

It isn't a bad place and we'd stay again. Price is ridiculous: charging KOA rates for a run down campground. The good: it is quiet; safe; good utilities; convenient to the Interstate; owners are nice. The bad: price; price; no WiFi. It would not take much to spruce up the place and make it more presentable. We camped at Jonesburg Gardens Campground in a Motorhome.

Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Over priced. Not a bad park and well maintained. Sites are close and never understand why they put people next to each other when the park is half empty. Some road noise from I-80 but not too bad. Office staff superb. WiFi useless. Used our cell hot spot the entire time. Never got a reliable connection from the park. That said, we'll stay here when we come back this way. Tips for other Campers:

The Altitude Chophouse in town is fantastic. Sort of upscale but excellent service and food. The NU2U thrift store on 5th street is loaded with designer stuff from the University students at VERY low prices.

Riding through town makes one think of stage coaches, horses and gun fights. Loved Laramie.
