Seven Points Campground COE, Hermitage, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful COE campground located on beautiful Percy Priest Lake. Long spacious sites with deep shade. Swimming beach and boat launch areas are within the CG loop. Sites 11-50 have good views of the lake. Odd numbered sites are directly on the water. These are very long sites and most have a slope at the beginning, leveling off at the back near the utilities, no problem getting level. Check-in is still strictly enforced at 3:00, but you can wait it out at a large boat launch area just 1/4 mile past the park on the left. Easy ride to downtown Nashville and The Hermitage from here. Super clean, quiet and dark at night. What a splendid campground! We'll mark this one as a favorite. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Landing RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic! Spent a week here to tour the area and it was an excellent choice. Located at the beginning of the Sevierville-Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg strip before the traffic gets heavy. Gorgeous landscaping, super wide & long concrete pads, quiet & dark at night. Had a river view site and it was lovely! CG is directly behind Smokey Mountain Knife Works, an easy walk. Plenty of quiet streets surrounding the property to walk the dog. Worth the price! We camped at Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cove Lake State Park, Caryville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Good for an overnight stop. Very easy to find. Decent little state park. Arrived without reservations on a Sunday afternoon in mid-summer and had no trouble getting a site. Mature trees offer good shade throughout the campground. Fairly level sites on gravel. The potion of the lake/cove visible from the CG wasn't quite as scenic as I hoped for. We camped at Cove Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Lincoln State Park, Lincoln City, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Lincoln State Park is always a delight. So much to see and do here! The large beach and swimming area is perfect for a summer float. Paddle boats and kayaks are available for rent. Amphitheater has productions all summer long and a swell Nature Center gives programs on the weekends. Many hiking paths, including a loop around the lake. This is a large park well suited for bicycles. Camping sites with water and electric are available in some sections. While the site may be listed as level, expect a slope in some direction - not a huge problem. Maintenance crews keep the property trimmed and tidy, and the CG is patrolled regularly. If you can come mid-week you'll find it far less crowded. We camped at Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight spot just south of Spartanburg. Easy access from I-26. Privately owned and attentive to your needs. Good gravel sites that are fairly level. A small pond is on the property and groups of ducks waddle around the campground - charming! Enjoyed the pool after a long, hot drive. We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Swell resort! A large property with many amenities. Well maintained and clean. We stayed Lakeside which has all concrete pads. Sites are a little closer together than I'd like, but will be more private in a few seasons when the landscaping fills in. This is a busy resort, nearly all sites were filled even during the week, but the CG was surprisingly quiet. No swimming in the lake - alligators are present! But there's a big pool near the office. A bit of a drive to downtown Savannah, but this property is worth the extra miles. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Motorhome.

High Falls State Park, Jackson, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, what a beautiful park! Stayed at the Lakeside CG and recommend it highly if you have a smaller rig (under 30'). Deep shade under tall pines, well groomed gravel sites with large patios, quiet & dark at night. Directly across the entrance from Lakeside is a splendid trail with excellent views of the lower falls. It was a great walk and the rapids were fast and exciting to see. There's a cluster of nice looking yurts for rent in this section and a putt putt course that overlooks the dam. Love it when a state park exceeds expectations, especially when used as an overnight stop like we did here in High Falls. We camped at High Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater COE, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

The Corps of Engineers does everything right here at Sweetwater. Super clean campground, spacious sites, and plenty of open grounds. A lovely park! Great swimming beach with clean sand and a large area roped off with floats. Pretty views of the lake from every loop. Staff was super helpful. We used Sweetwater as an overnight stop and it was a perfect choice. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Motorhome.

John C. Campbell Folk School Campground (Members Only), Brasstown, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We returned here again to attend the Folk School. The campground remains unchanged from 4 years ago except they now allow dogs in the CG. Sites are small. If your rig is any bigger than 30' chances are you won't fit here. It's nice to have this campground available for students, but it could use some updating. Almost every power pole is askew, evidence that it's tricky to back into the sites. Quiet at night and close to the main buildings. We'll stay here again when we take classes because it's so convenient. We camped at John C. Campbell Folk School Campground (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Korbel East Campgrounds - Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Not bad! For a state fairgrounds this was pretty good. Three camping areas to choose from - water, electric, and sewer available depending on the section. The fairground is a huge property that extends across 17th Street (walkable) to horse/livestock barns. Also connects to Marpfle Stadium. Very pleased with the camping here, easy access to interstates and downtown Columbus. We camped at Korbel East Campgrounds - Ohio Expo Center in a Motorhome.

Rocky Fork State Park, Hillsboro, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice. Used as an overnight stop. Lots of open green spaces and lovely lake. Stayed in the lower section directly on the water - no shade but good views. Sites in the 300 section have a margin of grass between, so while they are close together it doesn't feel too crowded. Lack of signage at the turn on North Shore Rd, or maybe we didn't see it in the pouring rain. We camped at Rocky Fork State Park in a Motorhome.

French Lick Springs Hotel, French Lick, Indiana

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

No improvement since our last stay here 2 years ago, but they increased the camping rate significantly. For a whopping $75 you get a bare parking lot space. There are FHU, but the water spigots leak all over the electric box. Hotel staff fumbles with RV reservations, and the check-in process is clumsy and time consuming. After you hike to the hotel to check in, you've got to wait for staff to unlock all the utilities on your site. French Lick and West Baden are wonderful resorts, but the RV Park lacks amenities and is overpriced. Shame. We camped at French Lick Springs Hotel in a Motorhome.

Bay Breeze RV On The Bay, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely little camp! Open courtyard gives every site a view of the bay. Mature live oaks provide shade. Decks and pier at the water are a good place to kick back. Bay Breeze is a vibrant community of seasonal or long term campers - super friendly and very welcoming. Plenty of trails to walk the dog. Evening get-togethers by the fire pit. Owners are outstanding. Well maintained property. Sites are a bit tight, especially on the left side, but the open courtyard makes up for that. Stayed here a week in the off season and were lucky they had an opening. Worth reserving in advance! We camped at Bay Breeze RV On The Bay in a Motorhome.

What a great find! Used as an overnight stop and was pleasantly surprised. Secluded wooded area. Level pull-thrus with FHU. Staff leads you to site. Section of lake accessible from CG with hiking trails. Picnic tables are arranged under community pavilions, each section has its own pavilion. Easy to find and well marked. A lovely stay!
