Quail Run RV Resort, Wesley Chapel, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, well maintained campground off the beaten path. It is close to the interstate but sits between 2 exits. The road coming in is not exactly big rig friendly. We tried to duck a lot of low branches. Most of the sites are owners/long terms. We have been here 2 times and each time we were on the same pull through. Most of the residents were friendly although well over have of the sites were closed up. This is a good stop over for us when we are heading home. We camped at Quail Run RV Resort in a Motorhome.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, clean, well maintained campground. The streets are paved and most of the sites are concrete. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. There is a another section in the rear with full hookups and cabins. (No tents allowed) There is also a large lake in the rear and if you are up to it, a long walking trail around the lake. We have stayed here 3 times and each time we come back, we find something new has been added. They are working on another fun section that may be completed early next year. I took away 1 point because they do not recycle. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Motorhome.

Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fairly large clean, well maintained kid/family friendly KOA. The staff was excellent. The roads were paved and the sites were gravel. We had a pull through on a site that was level and a large tree for shade on the windshield. The park has a large catch and release lake and a very clean dog park. There is a long walking trail through the woods around one side of the campground. I took away 1 point because they do not recycle. We camped at Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Contentnea Creekside RV & Trail Park (Closed temporarily), Grifton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

To begin, this park is NOT closed. This is a small park with 10 full hookup sites with 50 amps. There are other sites with minimum hookups. The road is paved and the sites are grass/gravel and somewhat level. There is a trailer with air conditioned bathrooms but it was locked while we were there. The park is run by the city and you pay at the police department. We set up and drove the car to the police department, which was a short distance away. The police are in and out of the park on a regular basis. There are no amenities but there is total peace and quiet. . Our antenna picked up about 25 channels out of Greenville. We crossed a railroad track near the entrance but never heard a train in our day stay. The traffic in and out of the park is very light, mostly people fishing in the river next to the park. We stayed here before and would stay here again. We camped at Contentnea Creekside RV & Trail Park in a motor home. Tips for other Campers:

Grifton is a very small town still trying to recover from the flood. A right out of the park to the intersection, go straight across to the main road. Right on the Greenville Highway to the town of Greenville (about 15-20 minutes). Lots of places to eat in this growing town. There is a new Camping World and the address is 111 Red Banks Rd, Greenville, NC 252-917-6475.

Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA, Doswell, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

This is a regular kid/family friendly campground. We staying in what we thought was a newer section. The roads were paved and our site was a concrete pad with full hook ups. Our area was a mix of motor homes, travel trailers and tents. Some noise from Kings Dominion can be heard as well as the train that passes between the campground and Kings Dominion. There is a large, clean dog park on the far side of the campground. We camped at Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA in a Motorhome.

Magnus Park, Petoskey, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This is a high end Motor Coach Resort. The streets are paved and all the sites are concrete pads. We had a large concrete patio with a fire pit, table and chairs. As someone mentioned, it would be nice if they had side walks for walking your pets. The staff members were very friendly and MOST of the residents were pleasant. The resort does recycle but you must take your trash and recycling to the dumpster. No trash pickup. We camped at Magnus Park in a Motorhome.

Swan Bay Resort, Alexandria Bay, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $91.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large, clean, well maintained CG. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete with a patio, fire ring and table. There are a few sites on the water. (Plan early if you want one of these sites) There is a grocery store within walking distance of the campground. There is a dog park, play ground and a large area for walking the dog or for kids to play ball. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Junius Ponds Cabins & Campgrounds, Phelps, New York

This park was good for an overnight stay. The roads were paved but the sites were gravel/dirt. I thought the streets were a bit small but if you navigate at a slow speed, you will be okay. I took a point away because they do not recycle. We camped at Junius Ponds Cabins & Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Milan Travel Park, Milan, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This park is good for a stop over. The roads were paved but the sites were gravel/dirt/grass and very unlevel. As someone else said, the noise from the trains and interstate can be heard but since it was raining, noise was minimum. It was good for our stop over. We camped at Milan Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Sunny Brook RV Resort, South Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, clean, well maintained park. The streets and sites are concrete with fire rings and patios. A large area around the lake is good for walking or letting your dog off the leash. All the staff members were very pleasant and shared lots of information about the area. I took one point away because they do not recycle. We camped at Sunny Brook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When you exit the park, turn right and Walmart will be a right turn at the first light. If you prefer Meijer, do not turn right but continue straight across the overpass and Meijers will be on your right. To go downtown, do not turn right but continue straight for several miles. Downtown is about a 2 or 3 block stretch before you start downhill to the beach. Beautiful area to the right side with sidewalks if you wish to walk to the beach and light house.

Eastpointe RV Resort, Grand Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park that is well maintained and clean. The streets are paved and the sites concrete. The streets are easy to navigate our side was nose in facing the river. Their is a large dog park owned by the city but there is an entry from the campground. As one reviewer stated, their is a sewage treatment plant by the front entrance. We had site 111 which was a good distance from the plant and we only got a whiff of it when we went out the main gate. I took one point away because they do not recycle. We camped at Eastpointe RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Traverse Bay RV Resort, Williamsburg, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, well maintained resort. The entrance road is long, beautiful and very clean. The roads are blacktop and the pads are concrete. We had a concrete patio with a table and chairs. Our site was a pull in facing the catch basin. The staff members were all very friendly and offered lots of information about the area. There was a dog park but the entrance was muddy and the grass had not been cut. We camped at Traverse Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Manistique Lakeshore Campground, Manistique, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean, well maintained city run park with FHU but no amenities. The park is one big loop with back-ins and very few pull throughs. The park is opposite a large sewage treatment plant but in our two night stay, we did not smell anything from the plant. Their is a jetty wall you can walk out on but the entrance is sometime covered with water or it is too foggy to walk to the end. Their is a small downtown area but don't expect too much. It was good for getting our daily steps. We would stay here again on a stop over. We camped at Manistique Lakeshore Campground in a Motorhome.

City of Houghton RV Park, Houghton, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small, clean, well maintained city rv park located on the Portage Waterway inside of a large city park. Pets are not allowed in the park but a short walk to the entrance road leads to mile long walk along the river and into downtown. The park has full hookups and if parked on the lower level, you can back in or if your utilities are long enough, you can pull in to face the river. The camp host was very pleasant and has lots of information about the area. The park does recycle. We camped at City of Houghton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, well maintained campground. All the staff members were very accommodating. We were in the Executive sites in the new section. (Book early for these sites) These sites were concrete with full hookups, patio and table. The interior roads of the executive sites were hard pressed gravel and easy to navigate. The other sections are gravel/grass and dirt/grass and require attention when navigating in and out of the park. I gave the CG extra points for recycling. We camped at Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The closest Walmart is in Sturgeon Bay. This is about a 20-30 minute drive to Egg Harbor. Take the trolley tour to get an idea as to what is in the area. The trolley company is a 5 minutes away. Watch the sunset from downtown Egg Harbor.
