Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located less than an hour from the Orlando area theme parks. This park is beautiful with rolling hills, lakes and wetlands. There are beaches, piers for fishing, kayaks for rent, laundry and showers, well marked hiking trails and even a bait shop. The sites are large and level. Some are shady with lake views. We are on site 29 with a beautiful view. It hard to believe such a nice place is located in the center of one of the most populated parts of the state. It's quiet and peaceful here. We camped at Lake Louisa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Relaxing place near the Orlando area. There are very well maintained cabins for rent that overlook Dixie Lake. They rent for $133.00 per night. They include linens and towels. You bring the rest. There s much to do in the surrounding area.

Bull Creek Fish Camp, Bunnell, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 days here. We used our kayaks to explore the lake and channels. We also fished. We could launch our kayaks right from our site though there is a boat ramp if you need it. Sites are relatively level with concrete pads, picnic table and fire ring. The water is non-potable due to very high salt content. Sites are all full hook up with 20/30/50 amp service. We had heavy rain a couple of nights. Lots of water was standing but drained fairly quickly after rain stopped. Sites 1 and 13 looked to be the best to me. We were on site 12. You can't just drive in to this campground without first calling Flagler county for a reservation. The campground is unattended. The restaurant had some unusual items on the menu. There was enough variety that we found something tempting. They are open from 6am to 8pm. A short distance from the campground is a nature preserve with raised boardwalks to get you out in nature. We camped at Bull Creek Fish Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Silver Lake Campground, Brooksville, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a state forest campground. Gravel/shell pads. Some not very level. Nice grounds and lake front area. 30/50 amp service. Dump station. The huge negative is that the campground is located very close to I-75. The noise is very bad. It never let up all night. It was hard for us to sleep. We camped at Silver Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Palm RV Park, Worthington Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

With Passport America the rate would be $20 per night. I paid a reduced rate for multiple days though I wasn't a Passport member. We had the choice of a large pull through sunny grass site or a shaded pull through. We took the shaded site. Be sure to have a plug to reduce from 50 to 30 amp if you have a 30 amp unit. There are several seasonal RVs there but it is neat and quiet. There is a large fish pond with benches placed around it. We found it relaxing to sit there and watch the fish. The night sky is fairly dark too if you like to star gaze. I would stay again. There isn't a lot going on in Worthington Springs. We camped at Palm RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cottonwood Camping RV Park & Campground, Bonner Springs, Kansas

Overall Rating:

This place is mostly extended stay people. Looks a little junky. Nice slabs not very neat around site. Water hook up was not up to my standards. Sewer was ok and located well. Good for an overnight stay. Close to interstate. A bit pricy for what you have. But what used to be a $25 campground is now $35 I guess. Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground, Red Lodge, Montana

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park and well maintained. There are sights near Rock Creek and some up near the highway. Owners are super nice folks. We had to stay for 3 days waiting for a part for our hitch. They made sure room was made for us even though we didn't have a reservation beforehand. We camped at Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ruby Valley Campground and RV Park (formerly Virginia City KOA), Alder, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park had previously been a KOA. New owners are making improvements but it leaves much to be desired. We were crammed into a site so small my pick up door opened into the neighbors patio area. There was a large tree along side the site that I was barely able to get on the site because of it. There may be a site or two that are better but I didn't see it. All seemed very small and very tight. I have never been this close anywhere before. The owners were nice and helped me get parked on this tight site. Countryside RV Park, LLC, Dillon, Montana

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. Very well maintained. There are very large open grass areas where you are allowed to let your dog run off leash. There is a laundry with two washers and two dryers in good working order. Sites are spacious though fairly close. Roads and pads are gravel. Each site has a nice grassy area. We camped at Countryside RV Park, LLC in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is centrally located to many attractions. Bannock State Park, a ghost town as it was in the day. There is a scenic byway. a crystal park where you can dig crystals, Nevada City and Virginia City are within 50 miles. The small town of Dillon has a very interesting little museum of local history. Be sure to check out Sparky's Garage for delicious burgers and bbq. The decor is pretty neat too.

Mountain View RV Park, Arco, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very well maintained campground. Things are very neat and clean. My wife used the laundry which was clean also. The washers and dryers worked well. Most of the sites appear to be pull through sites. We had full hook ups. My wife thought the owner was a bit gruff but he runs a tight ship. He likes to keep the place looking nice. Snake River RV Park & Campground, Idaho Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well maintained park with camping cabins, tenting, pull through and back in RV sites. They have a dog walk area, pool, dump station, laundry, propane and a nice office store. Our back in site was one of the tightest we have been in. My slide out was nearly touching my neighbor's awning. The utilities were good and located well. It is a good overnight place or to stay for a few days if you are visiting this area. We camped at Snake River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite campground anywhere we have ever been. It might not be for everyone but for us it is what camping is all about. This location is huge. You are out in a setting frequented by wildlife. A bull moose and a cow moose passed behind our site several times. We had a mule deer buck pass by each day. We spotted many varieties of birds also. There is a loop with electric hook ups. You have to fill your water tank by the entrance. Most sites are dry sites. We stayed a week. We used a tote for waste water and filled 6 gallon jugs to fill our water tank when needed. That is no big deal for me to be in this type of setting. If you like KOA you probably won't like this place. There are plenty of places to walk and enjoy the silence of nature. The Gros Ventre River passed along the backside of the campground. There you will find quiet places to sit and reflect. We camped at Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We have been to this campground 3 times. If you like a natural setting over convenience then you will probably like this place. One area is mostly for tents and small RVs as the sites are small. One loop is only tents. In the electric loop and the tenting areas you cannot use a generator. They do have an area where you can use a generator. This campground seldom fills so it is a good bet if everything else has filled in the area.

Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical KOA. Cramped narrow sites. My neighbors are sitting next to my sewer hook up. This isn't camping. They have a dog park, one reason we stop at these places. Here they had no bags for waste. They had a shovel and rake leaning against the fence for users to pick up after their dog. Consequently, the dog park was full of dog feces. Also dog feces was in the road and along fence lines. That is disgusting. We clean up after our dogs. The utilities were top notch. I have no complaints there. This is little more than a high priced parking lot. Who uses game rooms etc when you can't roast a hotdog at your site? We camped at Laramie KOA in a Travel Trailer.
