Mt. Greylock Campsite Park (formerly Hidden Valley Campground), Lanesborough, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and his wife at check-in. Very nice and active owners. Check in was easy and we were given a bunch of information about the area. Our site was at the top of the hill and very much in the woods. It took some creativity to back in the trailer and find a level spot. The water and power hook ups were well positioned on the site. The "grey water" only discharge was way in the back of the site and stretched 2 of my hoses fully. The black water discharge needed to be completed on the way out. The campground had a live band playing on Saturday night (cut short by rain) but was a great idea. The pool although we did not use looked clean and inviting. Free Wifi is only available around the Rec hall. Wifi at your site is contracted out at $5 per day. We camped at Mt. Greylock Campsite Park (formerly Hidden Valley Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Cheerful Valley Campground, Phelps, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

As many have mentioned, the interior roads are quite bumpy and I would add dusty. Our site was a large back in site, with shared hook-ups. Depending on which site you had, you might be forced to run all of you wiring and hoses under the camper just to get to the post. Our post was on the neighbors site and our the neighbors firing ring was 3-4 feet away from our camper. Not very well positioned. The hook-ups worked well as did the wifi. We did not use the pool. Very average campground. We camped at Cheerful Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Milton Heights Campground, Milton, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I would like to begin by stating that the internal communications among staff and the owner is lacking, which affects campers. Upon our arrival we were greeted by excellent front office staff, or so we thought. We were given our site and a list of the rules as well as things to find in the area. We set up on site (had difficulty fitting and leveling a 35 foot trailer). After a few tries we were able to park on the site but needed to park my truck so it was on the gravel/ dead grass. That evening the owner was driving around and stop at our site and informed us that we could not park on the grass. We had to either move our truck to the front parking lot or rearrange our camper on the site. After discussing that if our trailer and truck did not fit on a site, why would we be assigned that site. The owner then claimed that it was campground "policy" and that was our only options. So we reconnected our trailer and was over hanging the road a few inches in the back and when the truck was parked in the front it too was over hanging the road as well. Next item, the pool. The pool is a large pool without any chairs or loungers to sit on when you are swimming. Perhaps it is because they only allow 10 people in the pool at 1 time. Perhaps they don't want you hanging out there. The pool was also filthy with dead bugs in it. Perhaps instead of policing the sites at night he could go and clean the pool instead. They claim that the wifi has been updated, but it is still very slow. After our 2 night stay I went into the office to turn in our key card, and mentioned to the front office that the owner was not very personable and asked if they had any knowledge that campers cannot park on the grass, and they assured me that many of the complaints and poor reviews are a direct result of him! I do not recommend this campground and I would never return despite its proximity to Toronto. We camped at Milton Heights Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Port Huron KOA, Kimball, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

To begin things off. We arrived around 4pm to a campground full of trash bags at everyone's site. Our site was ready, but there were trash bags at the curb. Not a good first impression. The sites was large with gravel and grass. We were only here for 1 night and did not use any of the amenities or facilities. The power and water was sufficient as was the sewer and they were all easily accessible on the site. We camped at Port Huron KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Upon arrival checkin was easy and we were given a map and a bunch of information. This is a very large and busy campground. As we were driving into the campground there were some very nice secluded sites. Some bigger than others but very nice. As we found site 1199 we were quite pleased at the width and length of the site. However we were very close to our neighbors in the rear. Now for the hookups, we had to search through the shrubs and had to ask the people behind us. Luckily we had enough of 30 feet to reach the power supply and had to walk through the neighbors site to get to it. Water was way in the back. Sewer was also positioned in the back of the site. Once everything was found and connected all services worked well. The campground has many activities going on. The property has great areas to site along Lake Huron and watch the sunset and to go swimming. They also have shuttle service to the ferry to Mackinac Island. Now for the not so good. Some of the sites around us are very close together. So much so they cannot even open their awnings. This also welcomes very noisy and rowdy groups of people. Despite quiet hours starting at 10, people were going strong until 11:45 and no one came around to break up the group or warn them. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort, Empire, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

There are 2 different sections to this campground. They have a resort style side and a campground side. The resort specialized to the class A and large 5th wheels. The sites are all paved with a concrete slab etc. the campground side is more of a wilderness feel. We stayed in the campground side and found the hookups no to be well positioned on the site. Water is on one side where we had to extend the hose under the camper in order to reach. The power supply was done with an extension cord (provided) and on the other side of the water. The sewer was close by if you have a mid camper valve. I might suggest not staying on the main entry road. Traffic is quite busy and go pretty fast. They could use a few speed bumps to help slow traffic down. WiFi was spotty at best. We did not use the pool as it was always crowded. We did enjoy the area attractions of sleeping bear dunes and the national seashore. Be sure to have all of what you need. There are area stores but they are expensive. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Wow!!! Nice RV resort! Park is very clean and well taken care of. Our site had a double wide concrete slab and the pedestals are located in the rear of the site and worked well. WiFi is available and signal was strong. The pool and hot tub was quite large and very nice. One of the nicest campgrounds that we have stayed at. Haas Lake Park RV Campground, New Hudson, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Haas Lake Campground is a very large campground around 5 different lakes. Check in was a breeze and the staff were very helpful. Our site z-2 was a pull thru site and out in the open. The pedestal was easy to get to and located in the middle of the site. All the items worked great. WiFi was strong. My only complaint and it's not really against the campground would be that other campers leave their dogs barking in their camper while they are away. Made it really difficult to sit outside and listen to a barking/whining dog all day. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Creek RV & Camping Resort, Geneva, Ohio

Overall Rating:

This is a large campground with a mix of seasonal and itinerant campers. When we arrived the front office did not have the internet so checking in was a little longer than expected. We were given a map and directions to our site. Upon getting to our site we realized that we did not have a full hook-up. I called the office and asked to be moved. The change was made without any issues. We are now in a pull-thru site and all the hookups work great and are located in the middle of the site. Clute Park Campground (W W Clute Memorial Park), Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Clute Memorial is a simple campground in a prime location. We stayed on a pull-thru site A6. The campground hookups were easy to get to and worked great. There is a swimming area across the street but that is about it for additional amenities. The ladies in the office are a wealth of knowledge and will help you in finding what to see in the area. We stayed at this campground so that we could enjoy the state park. Once we paid our parking fee at Watkins Glen we found out that it was good for all state parks in the area for that day as well. So We drove to Ithaca (30 minutes) and visited all the waterfalls and the State Parks in that area as well. Well worth it! We camped at Clute Park Campground (W W Clute Memorial Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Point Sebago RV Resort, Casco, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this campground a few times so that we can attend the Blues Festival in neighboring Naples. We have provided other reviews during those stays but this was by far the worse site. I must also state that this property is under new management and it appears the campground portion is currently an after thought. With that said, we noticed that the campground or at least the sites on the back of the campground are not very clean. We stayed on site 917. They all appear to have a drainage issue and with all the rain we had this spring, this place grows mosquitos (state bird) the size of small hummingbirds. Bring plenty bug spray. As far as the onsite amenities, power is sufficient (50 to 30 amp adapter is needed). Sewer was positioned well, and the water spigot was just lying in a pool of mud/swamp! How difficult would be to put a clamp on the pedestal and attach the spigot? We did notice that golf carts are everywhere and are driven at all hours of the night... which requires you to keep your windows closed while trying to sleep. Other than that this place is a gem. Beach is awesome and there appears to be many activities for everyone. We camped at Point Sebago RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

First of all the campground is right on Lake Champlain and is a diamond in the rough! The grounds are beautiful with all new wiring, electrical boxes, water lines, etc... The campground has a beautiful pool and clubhouse. This campground has all the makings of a great campground! Now for the not so good. This campground has 177 sites of which 173 sites were vacant. We made reservation for this campground 3 weeks prior to our stay as we would be making a stop here returning from a long road trip. We were told that there would be plenty of room and the were not able to accept a deposit at the time because they did not have a credit card machine. Upon arrival we entered the campground and was very surprised at how empty the campground was for the middle of August. When I tried to go to the office, the door was locked and there was no sign on the door or anything. I walked around the clubhouse trying to find a door that was unlocked and there were none. I waited a minute as there was a person mowing the lawn and asked me if I had a reservation. He made a phone call and was told to allow me to select any site that I wanted. My wife and I selected the a waterfront property and were told the owner would be back later on. When the owner finally showed up I went to settle my bill. I was also surprised that the owner had very limited english and I had to revert to my french in order to communicate with her. The owner informed me that I had selected a lakefront site and my fee was 70 for the night. I told her that I did not agree with the fee and that there was no cable or wifi on the site and the park was empty. I also mentioned that no one told me the fee structure of the sites as no one was there to check me in etc... Nonetheless I paid the 70 and only stayed 1 night. This place might be a diamond in the rough but it will not see my camper again anytime soon. We camped at Kings Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground! The campground had 2 pools! The interior roads are paved and some of the roads are a little tight. We had a very nice patio site along the lake and all hookups were at the rear of the site. Need to be careful as there was an overhead wire that that hit my antenna. The hookups worked well. Wifi was inconsistent. Laundry room was good and had good machines. I might also mention that if the wind blows in the right direction you will get a nasty air mass from the factories that are in town (not the campgrounds fault). We stayed in the rear of the campground with a patio. Did not get to enjoy sitting out as the mosquitos were really bad. Looked like a newer section of the campground. We were given an escort to our site upon arrival. The site was very big and had plenty of room for the trailer and my truck. The hookups were easy to get to and we're in good working order. We would have liked a handout about things at the campground and perhaps a small list of rules. It appears that it is acceptable to leave barking dogs in RV's when no one is there all day long. Although WiFi is available we found some instances when we could not get online. They do have pool in the front of the campground. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Travel Trailer.
