Devils Tower Nat'l Monument / Belle Fourche Campground, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a first come, first served self pay campground located within Devils Tower National Monument. There are no utilities and all the sites are pull thru right off the road. There are two loops, A and B and both had some big rig sites. We did have to level our truck camper. Big cottonwood trees throughout the campground. Wonderful views of Devils Tower from many of the sites. We would stop here again. We camped at Devils Tower Nat'l Monument / Belle Fourche Campground in a Truck Camper.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground located near the Little Big Horn National Battlefield. Campground is located on a hill but our site escort was so familiar with the sites that with his assistance we were able to park without having to level which is important for a truck camper. Office staff was very helpful and one is offered free ice cream at check in. Campground is very neat and well kept. Laundry room is small but clean and the bathrooms were immaculate. RV washing is allowed at site. However, the the campground water is naturally soft from an artisan well and unpleasant to drink. The gravel road to the campground entrance is not bad and only about 1/2 mile of gravel which was being graded the day we departed. We had a propane tank to fill and the campground manager recommended a place in Lodge Grass. We paid $1.25 per gallon for propane, the lowest price we have ever paid so if you need propane, it is worth the drive-Lodge Grass is about 12 miles from the campground. We would stay at 7th Ranch again. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Truck Camper.

Mammoth Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

One must show up early to get a site because all the Yellowstone campgrounds fill up early in the day. The Ranger assigns the spot and because we had an Access Pass, we were assigned a handicapped spot. Site was asphalt with a tent platform, picnic table, fire ring, and a bear box for food storage-regular sites are gravel. No hook ups. Many of the sites have low hanging trees that would affect even the shortest RV. We loved staying in Yellowstone and will return. We camped at Mammoth Campground (NPS Campground) in a Truck Camper.

Yellowstone RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

This is a way over priced campground and I am sure it is due to its proximity to the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. RVs are crammed together. Our neighbor was not home when we backed in and his awning extended way into our already narrow site not leaving us much room to park. We had to park our tow vehicle at an angle and avoid the big rocks at the edge of each site. The clerk at check in was condescending because we said we were going to try stay inside Yellowstone. This is the most expensive campground we have stayed at and we will not return. We camped at Yellowstone RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Y Lazy R RV park, East Glacier Park, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this campground. We made a last minute reservation so we could visit Glacier National Park. We were assigned a 20 amp/water back in site that was on grass but perfectly level-a plus for a truck camper. We had no problem running our a/c and other electric appliances though we had to do so one at a time. it is self check in and our site number was available at the entrance though a staff member did meet us and show us to our site. It was about a 40 mile drive to Glacier Natl Park. We did not see any loose dogs in the RV park. You can follow your GPS to reach the campground and it is through a neighborhood. There is nearby train activity but it did not bother us at all (no horns). We would stay here again. We camped at Y Lazy R RV park in a Truck Camper.

Shelby RV Park & Resort, Shelby, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground located on a hill in front of the Comfort Inn and that is where check in was located. Sites are gravel and not level booth side to side and back to front. Campground has full hook ups and is well kept by the very nice maintenance man. Laundry bathrooms building looks new and there are two washers and two dryers at a reasonable price. Hotel staff allowed us to have package delivered to their front desk. Hotel allows campers to use the pool. There appears to be some long term campers but sites were well kept. We would stop here again. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Truck Camper.

Granview Recreation Park, Granum, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground on a small lake with swimming at one end and fishing at the other end. We were assigned a pull thru site in the back of the campground. Grass in the campground had been cut and even though there are seasonal sites, all were neat and clean looking. Staff was friendly. We stayed here on our way to Alaska in 2014 and nothing has changed much. We would stay here again. We camped at Granview Recreation Park in a Truck Camper.

Silverhorn Creek Campground, Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful new (2018) campground in Banff National Park. It has big rig access and is a first come-first served type campground on the Icefields Parkway. There are a few pull thrus and there are pit toilets available. This is dry camping with posted generator hours. If one wants to have a fire, one must pay a fee of $8.50 Canadian and firewood is available with that fee. We would stop here again. We camped at Silverhorn Creek Campground in a Truck Camper.

Beaverview RV Park & Campground, McBride, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is just an ok campground but was convenient for a couple days rest on our way back to the lower 48. We we assigned a pull thru site on grass with 30 amp, water and electric. the power is really inadequate and on top of that, a lightning bolt took out a transformer and the power was out several hours (not the fault of the campground). Even though it rained, we did not have any problem pulling out from our site on the grass. laundry room was adequate with the washers taking toonies and the dryers taking either U.S. or Canadian quarters. We would probably stop here again. We camped at Beaverview RV Park & Campground in a Truck Camper.

Shady Rest RV Park, Houston, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived without a reservation behind a caravan and all the normal sites were full. We decided to stay in their back section which was dry camping but we could run our generator if needed. Campground is well kept-the flowers were beautiful-and the owners were friendly and helpful. We were really happy with our site and if we stayed in this campground again, we would stay in the back section even if regular sites were available. loved this place! We camped at Shady Rest RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Bear River RV Park, Stewart, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

All sites are back in on grass and one must be careful of the big rocks marking the borders of each site. The campground interior roads were muddy with standing water but they do get lots of rain in that area. No problems with the utilities. Did not use the bathrooms or laundry. Staff is really friendly and they have some interesting souvenirs for sale in the campground office. Office provides a brochure for the local Stewart/Hyder, AK area that was very helpful. We would stop here again. We camped at Bear River RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground, Iskut, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground located on the Cassier Highway near Iskut, B.C. We were assigned a back in water/electric site. The campground offers a wifi service though to get the good stuff, it costs $3 per day-we did pay for one day. The owners were friendly and the campground is well maintained. We would stay here again. We camped at Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground in a Truck Camper.

Three Bears RV Park, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We found this campground a perfectly acceptable alternative to the much higher priced full hook up campgrounds located in Tok-we stayed in one of those higher priced campgrounds coming into Alaska. We had a pull thru fhu site. Did not use the bath house but it looked old but we did see others using it. Check in is at the Three Bears Hardware Store. If one needs to wash their RV/vehicle, there is a free wash at the local Tesoro Station with a fill up. We would stay here again. We camped at Three Bears RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Made a reservation for an "A" site and it is first come, first served for any "A" site available. We checked in the day before and received our paperwork so all we had to do was show up the next day and pick a site. Check in is at Riley for all three campgrounds. Denali has an excellent though busy dump/fill facility. That area had received lots of rain before our visit and some of the sites and the roads had standing water. Did not use showers, laundry, or bathrooms. We would stay here again. We camped at Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Truck Camper.

Cantwell RV Park, Cantwell, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight stop for us before heading into Denali national Park. We were assigned a pull thru water and electric site. One must be careful not to park on the above ground water lines and the campground is full of rather large gravel/rocks which makes it difficult to walk. We only used the laundry which was tiny and cramped but clean. We could see the staff making sure the showers were clean after every use-we used our own facilities. Staff was very friendly and we had a better stay this time-we stayed in 2014-because the staff was so nice. We would sty here again. We camped at Cantwell RV Park in a Truck Camper.
