Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails, Menifee, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

A Thousand Trails membership Park.....we enjoyed our week long stay at this location. We had site #53(on the canal) which provided shade for most of the day. 30 amp power, water and sewer all worked well. Verizon service good also. As others have said, the flies can be bothersome and you do, at times, get an odor from the nearby dairy farm....BUT neither of these were unbearable. Great location for visiting the many Casino's in the area(of course this could be good or bad) although, at least one near by Casino offers a Free Lobster Buffet(very good and a 32.00 value). Pools, spa's and clubhouse were clean and refreshing. We will return. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails, Acton, California

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

The Good: the lodge and Pool/Spa. The Bad: the maintenance from site electrical, slow draining sewer connections, no water pressure at sewer dump stations, over-grown foliage, downed tree's, and the constant trains(cant really blame that on TT though). This place needs some TLC.. Verizon signal OK. Wi-Fi slow and at Club House only. We camped at Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort, Santa Barbara, California

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Second time at this campground and our rate is Thousand Trails member. We enjoy this location. For us it's close to home in miles but seems like you're out in the wilds. Campground has 30 amp power, good water, and sewer connections. Lots of areas to explore and walking trails to enjoy. Plenty of mule deer in the campground at dusk and into the night. Adult lodge allows internet access and Verizon cell worked but only single bar. We stayed here in site #1 and we will return. We camped at Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort, Santa Barbara, California

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 5 nights here during mid-week through weekend. Our rate is with Thousand Trails Zone Pass. AS with others, the last part of the drive into CG is narrow, but we had no problem. CG was fairly full although all the facilities we mostly had to ourselves. The adult clubhouse was well equipped with nice lounge and pool table. We checked out the swimming pool(heated pool was closed for repairs), but both pools looked in good shape as well as the heated spa. All utilities worked well(30 amp power, water and sewer), Cell phone coverage was limited. We didn't have our computers with us so we don't know about Wi-Fi although we saw several with their computers in the lounge area's. Lots of wildlife about at dusk and dawn(mule deer, wild turkeys, fox). All in all a very nice time and we will return. We camped at Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe, California

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

You have plenty of options here, from tent sites to premium sites. Weekend rate is higher also. As to the campground, it is well located, has many shaded sites, some more difficult to get into than others. Good power, water and sewer, some sites with cable TV. We like it here as far as the campground goes. The staff on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. We have yet to meet a "competent" office person here, from manager down! Watch your billing closely and if you want adjoining sites, make sure they make notations on your reservations. The common thread here is to lay off any and all mistakes made on another person up to and including you, the customer. Its NEVER their fault!! And even if it is, NO accommodation is made in your favor. While I "like" this campground and will return, I find the attitude of some, out of the realm of Good Customer Service! I can't possibly indicate the issues encountered here but needless to say, a letter to Encore is forthcoming! We camped at Tahoe Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Topaz Lodge RV Park, Gardnerville, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Have been here on a few occasions and will return again. We stayed at the lower campsites this trip and I think I like it better down here. Had a slight view of the Lake and good all around access. Power, water and sewer all good. Cable TV was fuzzy at times but still adequate. Used the pool and had it to ourselves even in the hot weather. Stayed 6 nights and received 6 nights worth of discount coupons. With the $20.00 rate, you can't beat this place. Casino small but the drinks while playing, are free and plentiful. Verizon good and satellite view excellent. Oh: always a wind in the afternoon, watch those awnings! We camped at Topaz Lodge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lakeside Casino & RV Park , Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Another great stay at Terrible's. All utilities (water, sewer, electrical) were good. It seems the new ownership is cleaning up some of the neglected items: i.e., the grounds and the lake. The park was pretty much full and a cruise around to other RV parks in the area showed vast vacancies. We love this park because of the grass (very dog friendly). Good food in the Casino at a reasonable price with many coupons and deals. I would rate the park a 10 but I think the sprucing up and cleaning up have aways to go still. I would Love to see some new carpet and new filtration of the stale/smoky air in the Casino (maybe a few more newer slots too). We camped here with using the Passport America discount and we will return again and again. Oh: some sites are not satellite friendly so bring a portable dish if TV is necessary. I got about 15 over the air digital channels. We camped at Lakeside Casino & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Main Street Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Ive read the good, the bad and the ugly about this CG! We spent 5 nights here over New Year's and while this CG is by NO means a Resort, it does provide for a very centralized location for Downtown Vegas. Walking distance even! The fire station, the homeless, the freeway traffic proved Not to be an issue to us...I slept very well..Thank You. The utilities functioned perfectly (although the sewer connection is something Ive never seen before but still no issue and no gasses). There are a few non secure Wi-Fi signals and TravelNet (a pay service) available and you can go to the Casino and use theirs. I also believe the Hotel's pool is available to the RV guests!? Cell phone worked Great (Verizon), sites are level albeit you are packed in and hook ups are side by side. Don't come here if your looking for a picnic table and time under your awning..its not going to happen. I did see security a number of times biking through the area. We absolutely loved this location for being close to downtown and the Fremont experience, especially for New Year's Eve! The price was right although for DEC 30, 31 and JAN 1, the per night rate was 28.00, still excellent. The Dog Park, in my opinion is useless, its too far away, the homeless hang out en-route to it and as long as you "PICK UP", its much easier to find other area's for "fido" to do his or her's business. We camped at Main Street Casino in a Motorhome.

Ozark Country Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 4 nights and it made for an excellent base for activities. Our site was perfect for our needs (good power, water and lots of cable channels). No problem with satellite either, although many sites have tree's. The owners are very nice and escort you to your site. The only downside, and by no means is it a Park problem, is that wicked turn you must make to get on the road to the CG. Verizon worked well too! When when back in the area, would not hesitate to return. We used Passport for our rate. We camped at Ozark Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Lakeside Casino & RV Park , Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here on several occasions and have always enjoyed our visit. No problems with power, water or sewer. Good Verizon cell coverage, our Wi-Fi worked in our site albeit a tad slow (site #23). Many tree's in the CG could be a satellite problem for roof top units. Restaurant is a bargain especially for breakfast. The Casino itself could use some updating along with repair in the restrooms and showers. But all in all, we'll be back: again and again! We camped at Lakeside Casino & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

After many years of reading how great the Oasis was, I figured we'd give it a try since its now a Passport Park. While I agree many area's of the Resort are landscaped beautifully, much of the other area's are parking lots. THe utilities worked flawlessly, the showers were clean, no problem with satellite views from our site (no shade). Only certain sites are available for Passport use which is OK, but when the Park is half empty, why not open the whole place up to use? I noted some say this Resort is pet friendly. I question that, when the dog area's are so spread apart and the main dog area is actually outside the entrance? Oh well: all in all, it's quite nice with the pool area's and such. If in Vegas again, I'd probably stay here. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Well we stayed here because it seemed close to Mount Rushmore and because our rate was a Passport America savings. Granted it was late in the season BUT, the lower shower building was closed, the pool was closed( didn't care about this), the lower part of the CG was soft ground with many bumps. I actually ruined my cheap, plastic Jack pads on this soil! The odor from sewer gases while others dumped was evident. The Wi-Fi didn't work at our site. We had to drive the toad up to the main building to use it. With all this being said: all connections worked well, Verizon Cell worked, and satellite was no problem (no tree's to interfere). Not sure I would return: maybe??? We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

For a casino parking lot, they have one of the best! We ended up with a spot over looking the river: a great view. They bend over backwards for those looking for a No Cost alternative to over-nighters and even extended stays of others. Good shuttle service to Casino, and the Casino itself is beautiful. If back this way again, we will stay again. I might add, a much better offering than the park down the road. We camped at Mohegan Sun Casino in a Motorhome.

Baker's Hole Campground - USFS, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

All I can say is that I have read about Baker's Hole and always wanted to come here. Well, I got my chance and we were NOT disappointed. We had a pull through site over looking the Madison River. Excellent 50 amp power. Great satellite view. Verizon Cell service was good. Fill with water on way into the CG and you'll be set. Some of the cleanest, composting toilets I've ever come across. What a beautiful spot. We stay will definitely return! We camped at Baker's Hole Campground - USFS in a Motorhome.

Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort), Coleville, California

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The site was very wide and had plenty of elbow room. The Pool is refreshing but is quite a walk to and from campsites and also there is NO restroom facilities near by. The only trash respectable is near the office which also makes for a long trek. We suggested putting some type of trash area on the opposite end of CG. I was surprised to hear resistance to this. The owner saying in essence, "Its good to walk." I didn't get into the fact some don't walk as well as others (handicapped). Oh well! Power, water, sewer all in good working order, getting a SAT signal is No problem with roof top dishes. My Verizon cell worked but wife's Singular and friends AT&T didn't. All in all a very nice place and at the Passport price of $20.00, its a steal. When the tree's mature, the shade they provide would be welcome. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.
