Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Date of Stay:
July, 2018 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
Beautiful, well maintained park adjacent to I-40. Road noise is really loud. Try to get a site in back of park. This park would rate a 10 across the board except for access. Only way in is sharp turn off busy street. If anyone in other lane, impossible without possible tire damage. Leaving park is nightmare. No light and left turn onto multi-lane street coming off Interstate. We waited 20 minutes for someone to let us through and that was without camper. Finally turned right and went through parking lots. We are leaving before dawn tomorrow to get out. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here before it was a KOA. Beautiful setting, nice sites, good amenities. My one and only complaint is signage. There is no signage to park from either direction. We use two separate gps systems and both routed us to the wrong side of the interstate in an industrial section. We got turned around without unhooking. Park should do something about this. We camped at Milton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

WinStar RV Park, Thackerville, Oklahoma
Date of Stay:
July, 2017 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
This is our second stay, just for overnights. The campground has manicured grounds, level cement pads, nice amenities, and excellent grass areas for walking pets, great pools and excellent bathrooms and laundry areas. Plenty of parking for check ins. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Property also has a huge casino if that interests you with shuttle buses to take you back and forth. However, there is nothing in the immediate area of interest. We found the casino smoky and loud and food was mediocre. There are some wine areas back across the border in Texas. This park would never be a long term destination for us, but it is still one of the best parks we have stayed in. We camped at WinStar RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort, New Braunfels, Texas
Date of Stay:
July, 2017 -
$65.00
Overall Rating:
We booked a premium site. There is nothing premium about it--gravel and not level at all. For the money, I would have expected at least cable TV. Roads are full of potholes. Dog park is a disgrace--full of poop and not cared for. I realize that dog owners have the ultimate responsibility for clean up, but the park is clearly not enforcing the rules. Lots of permanent residents. Park appears tired. We camped at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pioneer River Resort, Bandera, Texas
Date of Stay:
March, 2017 -
$25.00
Overall Rating:
Park is steps away from downtown Bandera. Park is along small river and is subject to flooding. There are 2 levels of camping. Sites are grass only and are very close together. Most of park appears to be seasonal. Park had very strict dog rules. Dogs may only be walked outside the park fence and area is under video surveillance. Our biggest concern were the number of large motorcycles coming and going at all hours of the night despite published quiet time. We have yet to sleep through the night. Also entrance to park has a very steep downgrade. Park would be fine for short stays. We camped at Pioneer River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
This park with desert landscaping was absurdly immaculate. Sites are pea gravel with concrete rails for wheels. We saw evidence that site pea gravel had been raked. Minimal but beautiful desert landscaping. Nice fenced dog area. Laundry room was very clean. Staff were helpful. Park sits on high bluff above city. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe KOA, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$57.00
Overall Rating:
This park is your typical desert terrain of rocks and dirt. A park employee threw a rock while mowing which shattered a large window in our 5th wheel. The park's response was sarcastic with no apology, no offer to help us get rig road worthy, no adjustment to our bill. Park sites are small. Big rigs had trouble negotiating turns. Some of park landscaping is in the way of putting out slides and awnings.Wifi was inoperable and we had no cell phone service. This park is not central to Santa Fe activities. It is about 30 minutes from most city attractions.I would not recommend park. We camped at Santa Fe KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Sante Fe is a wonderful place to visit. I recommend it, but I do not recommend this park. It was most expensive of our 5000+ mile trip. Definitely not worth it.

Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA, Las Vegas, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
Road from I-25 to park extremely rough. Interior roads in park rough and not well maintained. Park does not give a good first impression. We pulled in at 2 pm and office was closed, although our packet was on the door. Sites are leveled out on hills and difficult to access. Overall park maintenance needs work with lots of peeling paint and rotten wood. Ok for an overnight. Small rocked, fenced area as dog area which our dog would not use. Very low water pressure. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
This is a small park with mostly seasonal residents. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site was occupied when we pulled in due to a misunderstanding. We had to wait 2 hours to set up. We were provided a shaded place to sit and ice cream bars. Staff checked on us several times. We found park to be very friendly. Residents were welcoming. Site was level with back shade. Laundry and restrooms were spotless. Park is within walking distance of downtown La Veta. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
La Veta is a charming town. Nice restaurants, small market for groceries.

Alamosa KOA, Alamosa, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
This is a typical western KOA. Lots of gravel and dirt. Site was level. We were escorted to site. Limited space for dog walking. A warning to dog owners--we saw many rabbits in park. Our terrier went crazy. There is a pool which is small and up at front of park. No one used it while we were there. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins, Gunnison, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$35.00
Overall Rating:
Park is 12 miles west of Gunnison. Park is up steep hill. RV site is quite long, but most of it was hilly. Most of sites are permanent installations and not well kept. Vehicles parked in roads and some roads are dead ends. No real amenities. Park advertises wifi, but it is very sporadic. Cable tv is available. We got 2 out of 3 satellites on Dish to work. Cell phone coverage is nonexistent, but mountains in all directions. Park is quiet. The best thing about the park is the scenery. Blue Mesa Reservoir is across the highway. Location is great for mountain trails or fishing. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeside RV and Campground, Provo, Utah
Date of Stay:
August, 2016 -
$47.00
Overall Rating:
Park is off I-15 towards Utah Lake. Many long-term residents. Sites used for short term are too short for long rigs and since side by side rigs share utilities, rigs are very close together. Current rigs in park with slides extended have inches between them. Very wooded and rustic. WiFi is advertised but weak and not reliable. We camped at Lakeside RV and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was a surprise. It sits along the Snake River. Sites are level, shaded, very clean. It sits close to interstate so there is some road noise. Gas station and small restaurant on property. Escort to site. Workers out moving sprinklers around and maintaining grounds. We camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:
We stayed one night. Office was closed when we arrived, but we were directed to our site. Site was level and shaded. Office and laundry room was spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of green space for dog walking. Park close to I15, but traffic noise not an issue. Very close to everything friendly gas station, Walmart and restaurants. We would stay there again. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
