Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, well-laid out park with some sites on grass and under oaks, rest of sites in elevated area on asphalt and in the open. Sites on the hill are a little narrow and, though long enough, have a slope that makes leveling somewhat difficult. Needed wood blocks achieve level. Entrance to and leaving the park can be a challenge due to the four lane highway that has to be crossed entering and leaving. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Harmony RV Park, Townsend, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay as our normal stopping spot was full. Sites are in the trees around a large lake with fishing and swimming. Interesting route to our site between mature pines, but owner knew what he was doing guiding us in. Strong 50 amp service. Very nice staff. We camped at Lake Harmony RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is our stopover park when leaving FL or going home. Always friendly helpful staff. Close to the interstate, easy to get into, pull thru sites for transient stay. These sites are on grass, and it did rain last night, and it did get a little messy, but this is the first we have had with that in the 5 years we have been stopping there. Close to whatever you might need. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Can only say more of what had already been said. Friendly owners, very helpful making sure everything was perfect for us. This is a fairly new park, sites are long and level (with a 43' Motor Home a MUST!), new wood table and chairs at each site, easy on and off with a Love's nearby. Blackberries are still on the bushes. TV tower nearby so over the air channels were bright and clear. Fastest Wi-Fi we have seen at a campground. We selected an open upper site as we were setting up a new satellite receiver and satellite reception was a snap. The lower level sites have more tree coverage which would not be a problem with all the local channels available. We were not bothered by any noise which may have come from the interstate as our AC was running. This is a great stop for big rigs! We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground, but it is expensive. Cable and WiFi are additional charges to their base rate. We stayed in the new class A section on the small lake. Sites there were wide and level and base was pavers. A table and chairs with umbrella is provided at each site in this section along with a gas grill. The main entry road is narrow (only one rig at a time). Security was good with a 'clicker' required for access after the office closed, and the camp host was located just inside the gate. Overall a very nice resort, but somewhat overpriced. We camped at Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Renfro Valley RV Park, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times as an overnight stop on our way North. The rate reflects a Passport America discount. The campground is located near I-75 and easy to access. Sites (Creekside) are level pull throughs with full hookups and good 50 amp service and cable. Staff are friendly and helpful. We camped at Renfro Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fair Harbor RV Park, Perry, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived after office was closed. Our information was on the door for our site. Owner stopped by later to make sure everything was OK. We were in the reservation section for an overnight stay. Site was level, water pressure good, and good electric and cable. A small lake provides a nice setting for longer stays. The park is wooded and provides shade from the sun at most sites. This is a good place for an overnight stay as it is .2 of a mile from I-75, yet no noise from the freeway is heard. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped at Fair Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA, Fredericksburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We chose a KOA park because they are usually convenient, clean, and have excellent cable and Wi-Fi. This park is out of the way on a narrow winding road. Trees along the route to it hit the roof of our rig. Sites farthest from the road were level, but were supposedly reserved, and we were given a site next to the road with about a 4' drop from road level to site. We hooked up and found cable was very poor (3 lower channels were viewable, rest were too grainy to view), and there was no Wi-Fi. Satellite was not available due to trees, and our hotspot did not work. Office staff repeatedly told us they were full all weekend and had no complaints. The person parked 2 rows behind us came out and affirmed to the staff person that he had no internet and cable was very bad. We were offered a refund of part of our payment; we took it and left. If you need the services that were advertised (internet and cable), and do not want to have potential damage to your big rig getting there, find another campground. The charge ($57 without KOA discount) is not consistent with what is provided. We camped at Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA in a Motorhome.

Wilmington KOA, Wilmington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest KOAs we have stayed in. Staff are friendly and helpful, our pull through site was level and shaded. Streets are grave, but in great shape. Sites are large with room around each unit, unlike some KOAs that line sites up as close as possible to get more in. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. The pool looked clean and spotless and everything in the park is well maintained and clean. The free Cable and Wi-Fi worked well. The park is centrally located to the historic section of Wilmington. The rate reflects a KOA discount. This park would have gotten a 10, but we feel the cost is a little high. We camped at Wilmington KOA in a Motorhome.

Hardeeville RV, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Passport America membership. This is a no frills park: no pool, laundry, shower, bathrooms. It IS a pleasant stop for a few days close to Savannah, clean with level pull through sites, solid electric, water with great pressure, good cable and Wi-Fi. It is a very quiet and good place to stay away from the multitudes of people touring Savannah. As noted in another post, there are no staff present upon arrival. Form to fill out and instructions on how to make payment are available in the building. It is a kind of do-it-yourself operation. Find the site you like, set up, put payment in the envelope and slip it in the lock box. No muss, no fuss. We would stay again. We camped at Hardeeville RV in a Motorhome.

Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails), Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here a few times every year. We stayed two days on our way out of Florida, and for some reason it was the most pleasant of them all. Office staff was helpful and pleasant. A tropical storm had just gone through and the preserve was very green. Everything was clean and well-maintained; the new trash compacter was a pleasant surprise. Pools looked great, usual amenities were all operational. We had no difficulty setting up our satellite and OTA digital channels were good. Our Verizon hotspot worked well. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to stopping on our way back home. Rate was actually 0 and reflects TT membership. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of the two concrete pad pull-throughs and couldn't have been happier. We lost a jack and are on our way to Winnebago Industries in Iowa for repairs, and we are unable to level our coach, so having the level pad was wonderful. Large trees provided shade but did not interfere with the slides. There is a pool which appeared clean and well-maintained. Cable TV in this park was one of the best we have had, with brilliant color and no fuzziness. The Wi-Fi was weak, but our RAZR hotspot worked well. Water pressure decreased during peak usage times. Although the sites are a little close, the roads were easily maneuvered by big rigs. The park is beside RonDees and we are so happy we stayed here. The lady in the office was very nice and helpful. It was going to be an overnight stop, but we stayed an extra day. Price reflects Passport America plus $4 extra for 50 amp service. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pheasant Ridge RV Resort, Wilsonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly, efficient staff. This is a large park, very well-maintained. Sites are paved and slope to provide drainage, but our motorhome still leveled easily. The back-in site was a little short for our coach and car in front, so we hung over a little into the road. We used our hotspot as the wi-fi did not reach to our site. Cable and hook-ups worked well. Roads and turns are a little tight but not excessively. We would stay here again. We camped at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in a Motorhome.
