Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from I-95 as you travel through the small town of St. George. No road noise, but there might be from train with tracks 3/4 mile away. Some sites are open, some sites are under pine trees. We camped at Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage in a Motorhome.

Johnson County Park, Edinburgh, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Camped on site 58, which is one of four sites on a huge cement pad. The remaining sites all have gravel drives. This campground was part of a WWII base. An active reserve base is across the road. You see & hear military helicopters as well as practice bombing and gun rounds.

There are many area parks on the grounds including the Indiana State Horse Park.

Camp Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Johnson County Park in a Motorhome.

Dad's Bluegrass Music RV Park, Franklin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off interstate although sign & road entrance is confusing. You enter through the parking lot of other businesses. Fortunately there is plenty of room to maneuver. Owners bought the park 3 years ago and are making vast improvements. Owners are very friendly & extremely helpful.

Sites are easy to get in and out of. Utilities are well placed. We camped at Dad's Bluegrass Music RV Park in a Motorhome.

Asheville West KOA, Candler, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had made a slightly wrong reservation, but they quickly found me site for my 9 day stay. The campground was very busy during my stay, especially the front loops. Getting into the site was not a problem even with my 45 foot rig. I did unhook the towed vehicle prior to moving into the site. Staff was always busy with maintenance and cleaning. Yes, there is road noise from the interstate, but what do you expect when you're less than a mile from it. Trees made getting sat TV difficult. Cable TV is provided. Verizon had 3 bars LTE and park WiFi was very good for a busy park. We camped at Asheville West KOA in a Motorhome.

Craft beer scene in Asheville is terrific. Nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and great hiking trails make this a special place. Buxton Hill BBQ in downtown Asheville was wonderul, if noisy.

Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Office staff was pleasant. Was assigned a site at the end of a dirt, muddy road. Other sites were available off roads that were not muddy. I don't know why they did this. Park was quiet with easy access from I-95. I suggest to request a site in the southern loops instead of northern loops. Bad dirt and muggy road in the northern loop. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pecan Park RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived on Sunday. Office closed Sunday. Took info from box by the door directing me to an available site. Paid for stay the next morning. Office staff were very pleasant. I've stayed in this park many times over the last 6 years. Park was approximately 60% full. There is major air traffic from nearby JAX airport. Didn't bother me. Some people may not like the noise. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Easy drive from Exit 60 of I-26. Car enough from the interstate to reduce noise. Interior roads are travel as well as site drives. Some grass between sites. Not much nearby. The place is isolated. We camped at Magnolia RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Colt Creek State Park, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Camped with my young grandsons in a 45 foot motor home. They enjoyed hiking in the woods and riding their bikes. There were many families with children camping during our stay. We camped during the dry season plus it was very windy during our stay. Conditions were very dusty. The last mile or so of the park road leading to the campground as well as interior roads were gravel. Since this was a new campground, shade is a premium. Satellite TV was no problem. Verizon cell was spotty. The restroom was very new. A clothes washer and dryer were installed, but both were inoperable. Disappointed the "family/handicapped" restroom had no bench or seat. It made undressing, showering, and dressing two wiggly grandsons a challenge. Also the design of the picnic tables was odd. The benches were very high and the distance from the table long. Eating for kids without spilling was difficult. Also, there is no playground. Plenty of miles of trails and 3 ponds helped provide an enjoyable experience. Approximately 18 miles to services and stores in Lakeland. We camped at Colt Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hiking, biking, star-gazing, wildlife viewing, and fishing led the list of activities. Bike riding with a mountain bike equipped with wider tires for the campground roads and park trails would be necessary. I imagine bug repellent for camping during the wet season would be a must! Also canopies for shade would be helpful.

Grand Lake RV Resort, Citra, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Short drive from I-75, so road noise was not a problem. Our site was in a section with paved interior roads and site driveway. Easy to navigate roads and site, although we disconnected our towed vehicle. Site driveway had a slope, but manageable. We camped at Grand Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pine Mountain RV Resort, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Paved interior roads are laid out well. Most sites are gravel driveway with cement pads that are just wide and long enough for our 45 foot motor home. Curb on the pedestal side makes it a little difficult to enter. Large rocks cover second sewer connection (I don't know why). Good amount of space between sites in the newer section. There are few trees. Verizon cell had maximum bars and satellite TV was no problem. Park WiFi didn't work and office staff admitted after questioning. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Recently purchased park. New owner has lots of work to do, but the bones of the park are good. Interior roads and sites are paved. Some are a little narrow. Free WiFi didn't work. Owner was very friendly and helped us jump our tow vehicle. We camped at Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Harvest Moon RV Park, Adairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access I-75. Sign for Poplar Springs Road is very hard to see. There is no sign for the RV park. Interior roads and sites are easy to drive. Office staff was very helpful and friendly. Free, great popcorn was offered at check-in. Road and train noise is acceptable. Many seasonal or permanent residents, but their sites were neat. Rate includes free, spotty WiFi and free clothes washer and dryer. Camped in 45 foot motor home and toad. Restroom and shower area could use an update. We camped at Harvest Moon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Access reasonable off I-40. Follow the directions on their website. The road is narrow and windy, but take your time. Parks interior roads and site driveways are laid out. The sites have the proper angle, so you don't run over grass. WiFi is spotty, but the park was nearly full during our short vi sit. Verizon was also spotty. Satellite TV was no problem, because the trees are young and small. Rate does not include nearly $9.00 in taxes and fees. Camped in a 45 foot motor home with toad. We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ashland / Huntington West KOA, Argillite, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off I-64. Owner marked on campground map the route to take to site. For our big rig it seemed backwards. Suggest you scout the route prior to parking. Staff were very friendly. Sites are not real level in the main section with pull through sites. Free WiFi speed was good, but the signal strength was weak. Park close to the office for better use. Verizon signal had 4 bars.
