Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground, Dauphin Island, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very small mom pop park. Level and utilities including Wifi were okay. Beach is across the two lane city street (about 1,000' to water). Would stay here again. There is a restaurant next door that had live music on Friday night that was a little too loud. Depends what you like. Nice laid back small parking lot campground. We camped at Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Value Inn & RV Park, Mont Belvieu, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Tried it rather than stopping at an over priced KOA. Asian Indian run motel and park. Definitely overpriced with lots of semi-permanent run down trailers. Beer bottles, trash, long grass. Would only recommend in a pinch. WiFi worked, cable connector was damaged but over air stations were okay as you are at east outer belt of Houston. Not scenic and did not appear vary save but no issues. We camped at Value Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stone Creek RV Park, Schertz, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, friendly staff. Nice level shaded pull thrus. Good utilities, clean pool, nice sheltered new picnic tables. Cable okay but Wifi a little slow. No traffic noise but within 1000 ft. of I-35. Walmart just up the road. The downtown tour bus will pick you up at a park so no need to drive unless you want to ($50/[person for all day tour). We camped at Stone Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Harvest Moon RV Park, Adairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Always a pleasant experience with no surprises. Friendly staff, free popcorn, good Wi-Fi, good cable, level pull throughs, easy access off I75, no traffic or trains close enough to disturb you, Cracker Barrel and fuel within 1/2 mile, only about an hour from Atlanta. We usually stop spring or winter, but this time the pool was open and was in great shape. These guys know how to manage an RV park. We camped at Harvest Moon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight or for visiting area. WiFi and free air TV reception was good. Easy access from I-75 and within park. Bath area was clean. They are still struggling with soft spots where the stone base has not settled but that will improve as time goes by. Very enthusiastic owner actually led us to site then placed their plywood squares under my jacks before I got them lowered. Area is almost overlit at night and road noise from I-75 is just a slight hum. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

New Green Acres RV Park , Walterboro, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good park just off I-95. Good for passing through or for several days in Charleston. Audubon Beidler Swamp is within 15 miles. Good cable and Wi-Fi. Gravel pull-throughs in pine woods so tree pollen was rather heavy. I-95 noise is just a low hum. Stayed here two years ago and park is as good as ever. Cracker Barrel is less than a mile away. All lots are wide, maybe 50-70 ft. to next unit. We camped at New Green Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park, Piedmont, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, great Wi-Fi, only free air TV but great reception. Nice pull-throughs on top of hill overlooking a grass meadow. Dark and quiet. Just off I-85. Great for covering waterfalls from Toccoa to Brevard. You're not in the steep foothills at this place. Cracker Barrel is one exit north. Weekly rate of $175. Would highly recommend this park for people looking for nice place to walk or to exercise their dogs. Level granite gravel sites. We camped at Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Best park in Florida. Increasing in size (2-3x). Always excellent shaded concrete sites surrounded by green, nicely spaced. Only four negatives: Wi-Fi can be good, but not the fastest around, too many dogs, upper management is okay, but reminds me of a southern used car salesman attitude, and pool isn't heated. Great place to spend the winter; people and working staff are excellent. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Arbor Terrace RV Resort, Bradenton, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for a week. Only free air TV. Go to club house for Wi-Fi. Every other lot was full but come December things would get pretty tight slide to slide. Majority of temp lots are grass, access roads paved with bump strips. Manager is great. Would not stay all winter but a good short term park. Call the resort rather than putting up with their Detroit call center. We camped at Arbor Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Fourth winter here. Still the best kept secret in mid Florida. Park is near capacity but will double in size by Jan. 1. This is horse country and a small town so beaches are 90 mile away and the big city is 30 miles. Advantages: excellent paved asphalt (no speed bumps), full concrete for rig, tow, & patio. Lots of shaded lots, walk or bike to the grocery, lighting excellent, utilities fine, Wi-Fi good. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Good park with back in and pull through full service sites. Pad was level enough. Quiet and surrounded by woods, no trains or riverboat noise. WiFi was good but only six rigs were in our section. Internal roads rather old and rough but only four mile from four lane and Hannibal. Would stay again. We camped at Mark Twain Cave Campground in a Motorhome.

Sharp RV Park, Saint Joseph, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park right off I-29 Business. This park has a lot of locals and limited spaces, suggest you call ahead. They have a nice pull through right at the entrance. We had a 33' with tow and it was fine. A 40' might have problems. Friendly staff was waiting to help us to site as soon as we pulled in. Loop road looks tight but is fine. Pull through site was level. Wi-Fi (Tango) works fine. Only 5 miles to downtown and lots of food and shopping. We camped at Sharp RV Park in a Motorhome.

Double Nickel Campground, Waco, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

A good overnight park right off I-80. Good internet, pull throughs on gravel, shaded. The only negatives may be drive by dump station, 30 amp, and within 1000 feet of trucks on I-80. Cannot beat the price. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing, Bayard, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Pro: Nice rural setting 1/4 mile off highway. Site faces chimney rock about 1 mile away. Full service pull through site, friendly staff. We are the only ones here tonight so people depending on lights, or if your scared of the country you won't be happy. They can cook you a light supper if you don't want to cook. Would stay again. Con: Busy rail line is 1/4 mile away and two crossings give you multiple horns. Internet worked fine but I'd assume it would slow to a halt if others were also in the park. We camped at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

A nice flat gravel campground located in the rolling hills of truck route 79. Close to road but noise doesn't seem to be an issue. This park is at the edge of the Black Hills, no trees, but only 30 minutes from the center of Custer State Park. Gravel all looked well compacted referring to earlier comment. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely away from the hassle of Rapid City and out in the country. Gas/diesel available right next door. Six rows; first has back to Rt.79, sixth faces hillside with horses. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.
