Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

It's really the only campground in Laramie, so you can't complain too much. There is no shade, no mature trees. The sites are very close together, it would be noisy in the summer. It's located right next to I-80 with lots of trucks going by. We didn't notice the noise too much, but others may have an issue with it. When the trucks used their jake brakes you definitely hear it and we had another truck's tire that tore apart, it was noisy. The sites and roads are gravel. Some long term RV on the east side of the park, some are a bit sketchy, but the other side was fine. It was OK for an overnight stay passing through. We camped at Laramie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park, easy access from I-80. Sites were wide enough, roads were easy to navigate. Lots of large trees for shade. We stayed just overnight, but would be fine with a few days in the future. Some long-term campers, but they were clean/nice for the most part. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Cute campground just off I-80, easy to get to although you do have to drive on gravel to get there, but not very far off the highway. Sites are VERY close together. The neighbor to our front had all of his hoses including sewer all strung over our site which is rude. Not sure we would stay for a weekend, but for overnight it was great. We didn't really spend any time outside, so it wasn't an issue. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bell RV Village, Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

New campground. Good: flat, easy to find, large sites. Not so good: gravel roadways and pads that are hard to walk on. Our small dogs couldn't walk on it because it hurt their feet. There is a dog run, but it is weedy. The "grass" around the pads is non-existent. With time it could be a decent campground, but the grounds really really need some work. Plus the shooting range nearby gets old real quick, they kept going until well after dark. Given that there aren't many other nice campgrounds to stay in that will accommodate a large 5th wheel or motorhome, it was adequate for an overnight stay. We camped at Bell RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp, Bullard, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. We stayed overnight passing through. They gave us a site right next to the pool area though, and other guests were constantly walking through our site. We also had trouble leaving early the next morning due to other campers parking in the road on one of the curves. it was challenging with our long 5th wheel. We camped at Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Colorado Landing, La Grange, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight passing through. It was easy in, easy out for our long fifth wheel. The park was flooded during Hurricane Harvey, and they are still repairing things, but it was fine for overnight. I'm sure once it's cleaned up it will be great. It's right next to the river. We camped at Colorado Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

By the Lake Rv Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice new campground with concrete pads and plenty of room between sites. The only negative I have is that it's on the top of a hill, when the wind blows, it really blows. We camped at By the Lake Rv Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Somewhere RV Park, Mineola, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Super friendly owners and clean campground. My husband loved the super big shower with the rain shower head. Wi-Fi was very fast. They even sell fresh eggs in the office. There is a fire ring and "conversation area". It is located at the intersection of two highways which we thought might be an issue but we did not hear any highway noise. The problem is the train tracks. Several times during the night a train would come through and each time we could hear it. I swear it was 8 times. (maybe it just seemed that many, but it was an issue). If these owners had a campground in another location it would be a great campground, but in this location, sadly, we will not return. We camped at Somewhere RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

On The Beach RV Park, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 3rd year we have stayed here for a month in February. The night is based on a monthly rate including the electric charge. Staff for the most part is friendly enough as are the neighboring campers. The sites are much too close together (maybe 7-8 feet). This year the motorhome next to us were very rude by leaving their windows open and TV blaring so we could hear it in our camper even with the AC on and windows closed. They came around on the back side and cleaned out their storage spaces in our area and were just generally not respective of our personal space (which was extremely limited anyway because of how close the sites are together). The best thing is that the campground is right on the beach, but it was very windy several days and everything was full of sand from the beach. You can't leave your windows open because the sand blows. We enjoy being next to the beach, however, the space limitations and recent price increase (to $625 plus electricity) have made us choose another campground next year. For a weekend it would be a fine campground if you spend all your time on the beach and not outside your camper. We camped at On The Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV park. We have stayed here before and would stay again without a doubt. The majority of the units are long stay "winter texans" when we were here. We just stayed two nights and had a Passport America discount. It is flat with enough room between sites (not great, but ok). Everyone was friendly, from the other campers to the employees. There was a resident chicken that made the rounds to every campsite checking for food which was fun. It's close to everything and makes it easy to see the sites of San Antonio. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

High View Campground / Bardwell Lake COE, Ennis, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was clean, fairly nice and the pads are long enough, however, they are not very flat for the larger units. We had to use a lot of blocks. There are also many sand burrs along the edge of the water. If you have dogs beware of this. Since this was February it wasn't very busy. I'm not sure what it would be like in the high summer season. We would probably stay here again. We camped at High View Campground / Bardwell Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here with two others for Oktoberfest. It is convenient to Amana. Very flat campground, level sites. Staff is friendly enough (not over the top, not rude). We come back every year and will continue to do so. The only real problem is the lack of trees, and it is out in the open so if the wind is blowing, it's going to really blow here. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bray Park, Madison Lake, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is right on Lake Madison (although you have to walk down 50 stairs to get to it or walk down to the man-made beach). During the summer there are lots of people at the small beach area. There are a couple very nice shelters as well. It is flat and spread out. No water hookups which was an issue because the water in the campground is rusty. When we stayed here in August the dump station was not working either. The park ranger is friendly. A big word of warning: when they say they close the gates at 10:00, they lock the gates and you will not get back in! Because we stay here to visit friends, we will return. Even with the lack of water/sewer it is a pleasant campground. The majority of the sites are small back-ins, but there are 15 or so sites that work fine for bigger rigs, although they can be tricky to get into from the road. We camped at Bray Park in a Fifth Wheel.
