Sunnyside RV Park, Sunnyside, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This CG is easily accessible, sites are gravel, and either drive-thru or back-in. The office is a building that once was a "lodge" for a service club, now part of the CG facility. The owners are helpful and friendly, lots of local information. This is our first visit here and we will return when in the area. We camped at Sunnyside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mtn. View RV (formerly Mtn. View Holiday Trav-L-Park), Baker City, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Relatively easy access to the RV park, through the mobile home community with some RV spaces in the median, going to the office. Most of the interior sites are drive-thru with good access, gravel sites with grass and trees. Utilities are well placed, sites are not very level but okay. CTV work well but Wi-Fi doesn't, its terrible. Close enough to I-84 but not so close you have noise. We have stayed here many times and find it a good place to kick back and relax for a day or two as we travel south (or north) on our way through. We camped at Mtn. View RV (formerly Mtn. View Holiday Trav-L-Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Ambassador RV Resort, Caldwell, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from I-84, scenic drive from the other direction, through farm country. Staff is friendly, the facility excellent. They have a great library, game room, pool, spa and sauna. sites are gravel for the RV with concrete patios and picnic tables. Staff is friendly and helpful, garbage pickup each morning at your site. They do have park models for rent. Wi-fi was terrible. We enjoyed our stay here, would definitely return. We camped at Ambassador RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access and there are drive-thrus and back-in sites, all with plenty of room. Streets are paved, sites are paved with some gravel and recently planted trees. This is a work in progress. There are park models, good CTV, full hook-ups. Services are aplenty, in Winnemucca, short drive into town. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is one of the nicest sites we have visited and we will return when through the area. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Austin RV Park, Austin, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Access to the CG is quick and easy. Austin is located on the downgrade from Austin summit, at 7504, town at 6605. The CG is operated by the Austin Baptist Church. Host was helpful and informative. The site was easy to back into, level gravel, with plenty of room for the tow vehicle. Many of the amenity businesses in Austin don't operate all week long. Fuel is available there but groceries are back in Kingston. Weather is unpredictable. What starts out clear and sunny can quickly become dark with thunder and lightning. We enjoyed our stay here and would likely return if in the area, remote as it may be. We camped at Austin RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Groceries are found about 28 miles south in Kingston. IF you should need medical attention the clinic in town is open Wednesday, 11A to 3P. Nearest EMS unit is in Kingston. Because this is "The Loneliest Highway in America" there really isn't much traffic. All things considered this is an interesting part of Nevada history.

Tonopah RV, Tonopah, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the state highway, all gravel lot, rental mobile homes, crew quarters, barracks and a line of RV sites, all pull through. Utilities are well located and easy to reach. Fuel here is a little high but there isn't anything else within 100 miles. Check-in was an education. Our original reservation was for two nights, called back and changed to one night stay. When we arrived we were told the daily rate for a single night for a first time visitor is $33. If staying more than one night the daily rate is considerably less. If you have been here before there is another discount. "There are no other discounts available." There are weekly and monthly discounts. The pricing system is ridiculous. This is a dirt and rock lot with RV hook-ups sticking up out of the ground, all in a row. For a short lay-over okay. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Space Station RV Park, Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived we were third in line to enter the park. Owner came down the line checking reservations. We were directed to the head of the line and into our site without hesitation. The pull through site was ample, with utilities located near the center of the site. The surface is gravel and level. The office/store is well stocked with supplies, including but not limited to RV stuff. Staff was great with everyone waiting in line, without reservations. In town amenities are pretty limited. Next fuel is 110 miles north, in Tonopah. New tree plantings indicate staff is working at making the park better. Laundry is $1 wash, $1.25 dry. Some electric machines and some gas.f We enjoyed our stay here and would return when through the area. We camped at Space Station RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Welcome Station RV Park, Wells, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

At one time this campground was part of a larger facility that was on old I-80, 8 miles west of Wells, NV. Today the cabins, restaurant and fuel station are gone but the campground and facilities remain, in good condition and easy access from the I-80 freeway. The woman that we first encountered was hostile. The guide in the golf cart intervened and lead us to our pull-thru site then stayed and chatted during set-up. There was a large gathering at the lower end of the CG, several RVs and tents but not noisy. There wasn't much road noise. We would return to this CG if in the area in the future. We camped at Welcome Station RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Closest fuel is Wells at the interchange. Avoid the Chevron. They post a lower price on the signs, but their gasoline pumps are all bagged off, no gas. The diesel number on the big sign was 21 cents less than the pump price and its a gimmick. Their pump credit card readers don't work.

Oregon Trail Campground, Twin Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The owners remembered us from our last visit and chatted for quite a while before being escorted to our site. We were put in a pull through with picnic table and some shade. The site was gravel and rock, utilities easy to reach. After parking and disconnecting there was space beside the RV to park the pickup. Not on a busy thoroughfare and only real noise came from trains some distance away at night. We enjoyed our stay here and would return when through here in the future. We camped at Oregon Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Boise Riverside RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We were escorted to the GREEN BELT area, along the hiking/bicycle trail, and directed into a very narrow back-in site. With slides open there wasn't much room to wiggle. There is grass between the back of the site and the trail fence line. This is a very busy CG and there are many long term tenants. We have stayed here in the past but never in this section. We would return when in the area and hope for another section. Try to avoid approaching the CG during rush hour. We camped at Boise Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Columbia Sun RV Resort, Kennewick, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Everything about our stay here is very good. Staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our group uses the facility for a 3 day meeting each year. Many of us stay for a full week before moving on. Access is easy and interior roads are asphalt. Some sites are paved, others are gravel, all have grass surrounding, landscape timbers, pedestals for utilities, trees are maturing. There is some highway noise, a half mile away. We enjoy our stays here and will return each year. We camped at Columbia Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The gift shop has a wide selection of novelty, plus, Seahawks and WSU Cougars items. Pool and spa both have HC lifts, restrooms and showers are spotless. Some of the grass areas, between sites, have cabanas erected for shade and gatherings. There are many different wine and beer tours in the area. Local dining...take your choice and enjoy.

Kettle Valley Villas, Rock Creek, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

First, we don't often rate a 10. This is definitely worthy of the high marks. The entrance takes you down a country lane to the office, then into the campground which is all lush grass and drive through sites. Utilities are well placed and easy to use. Restrooms showers and laundry are spotless. The owner escorted us to the site and visited for a few minutes. A work in progress but what they have completed is excellent and very pleasant. There is a 9 hole golf course adjacent to the campground, great condition. We would stay here again when through the area. Relax and enjoy. We camped at Kettle Valley Villas in a Fifth Wheel.

Brookside Campsite, Cache Creek, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Once you get past the entrance, steep down hill and side hill slant, it isn't too bad. Part of the CG has been re-built since a flood earlier this year. The bridge into the CG is new and once across there the CG is fairly easy to access. There is a combination of drive-thru and back-in sites and parking for tow vehicle or toad is pretty tight. A swimming pool was very busy when we were there. There were forest fires in BC, south of here, but the owner had absolutely no information to offer. There have been fires nearby and several landslides across BC 97 south of here. This is a nice campground just a little dicey with the steep side-hill entrance. We would return if in the area. We camped at Brookside Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The camp host is rarely on site. Next to the Stampede Fairgrounds. There is a site board posted on the building with your name posted next to your site number. Not all sites are full hook-up and there is a dump station on the way out. Utility access is convenient, RV parking is gravel with grass between and behind. Sites are back-in and parking for tow vehicle and/or toad is pretty tight. We checked the restrooms, showers and laundry and all were clean. We would stop here again if in the area. The CG is very near the highway, enter off a parallel street. The site was gravel, nearly level, back-in with a picnic table. There are several long term tenants here but most sites are tidy. You will have 30Amp, Water and Sewer, no breakers and room for parking. There is a vegetable garden you can pick from if you wish. There is a dump station for those sites without.
