Pacific Beach State Park, Pacific Beach, Washington
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
You cannot get much closer to the beach than this park. We were in site 11 and faced the ocean with a small berm in-between. Since the last time we stayed here, there is now a ranger station where you can check in. Not much cell service, but we did get our Verizon hotspot to connect so we could have some internet. Very relaxing spot with the beach a few steps away, but lots of exercise getting to the ocean. Some kids and adults were playing in the river. We camped at Pacific Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Salt Creek Recreation Area, Port Angeles, Washington
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$30.00
Overall Rating:
Great rv park overlooking the straits and from our site, we had a great view.Sites 6 to 32 are tiered, and have views of the straits. Sites 52 to 92 are in a heavily treed area and are larger and give more privacy, but no views. Hookups were fine and nice level site. There are black tail deer wandering around the park, and some nice trails with great views of the straits. As others said, be careful of the cell phone service, since it is a Canadian tower. My wife said she had great service and called our daughter everyday. I told her I shut off international data roaming on my phone and had no service, so guess who got a huge bill from ATT? Be warned. If we knew how nice this park was, we probably would have stayed longer. We saw Crescent Beach from one of the trails, and it looked very nice, but not accessible from the trail. We camped at Salt Creek Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Gig Harbor RV Resort, Gig Harbor, Washington
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$44.00
Overall Rating:
We had a long pull through that was reasonably level and had full hookups. Driver's side of rv was next to a hill, and the sewer hookup was slightly uphill, which made dumping the tanks a bit of a chore. Plenty of trees and shade. It is very hilly and there are more rv's in the top section of the park on a small plateau. That may be a better location. Supermarkets and stores are nearby, and the little harbor is a nice place to visit. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Nice harbor and village near the park, and lots of shops before you get to the park.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$55.00
Overall Rating:
Great park for families with kids with beach and other water activities. Wide internal roads and grass and gravel sites. Some sites have shade trees and since ours was an end of row, we did have a few trees. Very friendly and helpful staff, and they gave us a discount card for the Cedars Floating Restaurant nearby. My wife's hairdryer broke while we were there and one of the ladies at the office loaned her a hairdryer. Showers are self contained rooms with toilet and sink, but there are other toilets next to them. Very clean and great pressure on the shower. We did make reservations for the Cedars Floating Restaurant before we arrived, and got a great window table. Food was very good with a good mixture of beef and fish. Huge salad bar. At our slow pace on a hot evening, it was about 8 minutes to the restaurant from our site. Very friendly to pets. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Three Forks , Three Forks, Montana
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$39.00
Overall Rating:
If you like trees, grass and a country setting this park is for you. About 5 minutes from the highway and it is very peaceful. There are a variety of sites with or without sewer and some longer than others. Nice people in the park, and there is an area for tent camping. Stop by the Montana Wheat Bakery before you get to the park for fresh bread, rolls, pastries, sandwiches and lots of jams and flour. We stopped for breakfast on the way out and the pastry was too big to finish. We camped at Camp Three Forks in a Motorhome.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$36.00
Overall Rating:
Nice, quiet smaller park not too far from the highway. Good size pull through sites with lots of grass between sites and around park. Good area to walk dogs around the perimeter. Very pleasant owner and had a nice conversation with him when I was walking the dog early morning. Scenery around park is nice and we saw some deer in the fields. I did not use the toilets/showers, but had a look in and they were clean. We have stayed here before and will do so again. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

St. Vrain State Park, Longmont, Colorado
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
Stayed for a few nights before we go on a lengthy trip just to make sure all systems in the rv work. We were in Coot Pond loop, site 66 next to the pond and it is a beautiful spot. Nice view of the mountains. The site was clean and gravel around fire pit and picnic table freshly raked. Parking for the rv is a large, level concrete pad. There is a metal sun shade above the picnic tables and outdoor meals can be enjoyed in the shade. Lots of space between sites and plenty of green spaces for kids to play. There is some road noise from I-25, but not bad even when sitting outside. The park is about a 5 minute drive from the highway and would be convenient for an overnight stay. Our rate of $37 per day includes $7 daily vehicle fee. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.
Variety of fast food available at I-25 exit. Restaurants and shopping in Longmont, about 15 to 20 minute drive.

We have stayed here before and gave the park good reviews. We still like the park, but they have stopped the free Wi-Fi. Unless you have a hotspot you are out of contact with the internet. Unless they return Wi-Fi we shall not stay here again. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead Point Campground and Cabins , Buena Vista, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2015 -
$52.00
Overall Rating:
Great views of the surrounding mountains from most rv sites. Park and sites are gravel and sites have reasonable spacing so that you can use slides and awnings. Picnic table and firepit at each site. Most of the rv parks in Buena Vista are gravel/dirt and the major difference is the view. We have stayed in some of the others and this is the best view. Wifi and cable available, but not very many channels. Very friendly staff and they have a great espresso machine that does the best coffee, even better than Starbucks. This is our choice for BV. We camped at Arrowhead Point Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park), Olathe, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2015 -
$26.00
Overall Rating:
Great rv park to use as a base to visit Black Canyon (both sides), Telluride, Ouray and Silverton. Concrete slabs for site with lots of grass and trees at each site. We backed up to the pond and it was nice to hear the water running at the waterwheel. No picnic tables so bring something with you. Showers and toilets are single rooms and are among the cleanest I have seen in any rv park. Laundry room also very clean with a good number of washers and dryers. Owners, staff and other guests very friendly. We were able to enjoy the Olathe sweet corn while there and it is some of the best we ever had. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
Gunnison Black Canyon, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, Ouray sweet corn and don't forget to visit the Russell Stover candy store in Montrose for great prices on chocolate.

Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop, Rifle, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2015 -
$29.00
Overall Rating:
One of the great Colorado state parks with full hookups in the Lakeview loop. Other loops closer to the water have electric and water or just electric. Dump station is available. In the Lakeview loop, the sites are large and most have great views of the water and hills. On site host does a great job on having a pristine, clean site for you when you arrive. He even rakes the gravel. Sites had a level concrete slab for the rv, with picnic table and fire pit. Some picnic tables have a covering. Restrooms and showers were clean. We were at the top of the hill in site 53 and it was so quiet with nobody in front of us and nothing but a hill and some deer to the passenger side. This is a great state park and we shall definitely return. The cell service for ATT was limited but was available at certain locations in the park. We camped at Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop in a Motorhome.
Rifle Falls SP very close and worth a visit to see the 3 spectacular falls. Walmart, Starbucks and other stores/gas at the I-70 exit when you get off the highway.

Cheyenne KOA, Cheyenne, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
May, 2015 -
$38.00
Overall Rating:
Nice KOA just east of Cheyenne on I-80. We were travelling south on I-25, but it was no more than 10 minutes out of our way. There is some road noise but not bad. Very friendly on-site manager and staff. Nice dog walk and lots of grass around the edge of the park to walk pets. From what I have seen in Cheyenne this is probably the best rv park in the area. A State Park gets good reviews but it is 24 miles from Cheyenne. Good Wi-Fi and cable reception. We camped at Cheyenne KOA in a Motorhome.

The Longhorn Ranch Lodge & RV Resort, Dubois, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
May, 2015 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
Great rv park just outside of town with lots of grass and trees and right on the Wind River. Easy access from the road but the sites are far away from the road and very quiet and peaceful. Lots of deer roaming about and families of ducks and geese while we were there. Clean private bathroom and shower combinations. Friendly management and staff and we wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We camped at The Longhorn Ranch Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Madison Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
May, 2015 -
$12.00
Overall Rating:
Lovely campground near the west entrance to Yellowstone NP. No hookups but you can run your generator between 8am and 8pm, and there is a water tap near the entrance. We were in a back-in that was level with a fire pit and picnic table. Very peaceful and quiet and you can walk down to the river. We were in loop A. Some of the sites were a bit tight an lots of maneuvering to get into. We are only 26' long, but next time I shall tell them I am 28' so that I may get a site that is easier to get into. There will be a next time because Yellowstone is probably our favorite NP. Lots of wildlife and spectacular scenery. We camped at Madison Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Village of Trees RV Resort, Declo, Idaho

May, 2015 -
$32.00
Overall Rating:
Just off the highway behind a gas station. You check in at the gas station. Lots of grass and trees and the showers/toilets are self contained units and are clean. There is some highway noise, but more of a drone that loud. Good areas to walk the dog. Store has a grill and they will deliver food to the rv. We camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in a Motorhome.
