Suwannee River Hideaway Campground, Old Town, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park just far enough away from HWYs and very quiet and scenic. Would definitely stay here again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed Boardwalk to the River, short Hiking trail, and General Store with "all natural, locally grown, grain fed beef" and even Canadian Maple Syrup. Sites are much farther apart/separate compared to almost all Campgrounds we've stayed in. Would give it a 10 if there were patio pads. Wi-Fi was okay using our Antenna and Cable TV has 24 Channels (but not NBC). We camped at Suwannee River Hideaway Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to Fanning Springs and Manatee State Parks and Florida Nature Coast State Trail (31 mile long paved rail trail with 5 Trailheads - one in Oldtown and very close Fanning Springs). Oldtown has a decent Grocery with Bakery, Deli, Alcohol plus Hardees & Subway. We did not get to visit the nearby local Winery.

Ceraland Campground, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a Rally. Had a great time. Appreciated the Fresh Gravel on our site. Our site was more unlevel than usual due to the Park being on a slight Hill. We camped at Ceraland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This small State Park was recently update with new road surfaces and refreshed campsites with cement pads. Forested, Lake, very scenic. Brand New Camp Office/Store. Be sure to turn RIGHT in front of the Camp Office/ Store into the Parking lot on the right from the entry road Road was newly paved and Signs were not up yet so we drove BY the Office on the entry road assuming the Campground was in front of us... We camped at Mt. Gilead State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Austin Lake RV Park and Cabins, Toronto, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a GREAT Family Destination Park with a lake and MANY "permanent" units. I appreciate that they keep some sites available for temporary / passing through guests. If you have Kids - no better place. Due to the Amusement Park atmosphere and very difficult approach roads over 55 fuddie duddies like us we would not stay here again. There was so much Saturday pedestrian, cart, bike, etc traffic on the Park Road our site was on we had to wait at times to get parked. The Festive atmosphere was nice, but not for us. But the Waterpark, fishing, Pontoon, Paddle Boats, Kayaks, Pedal Carts, Playgrounds make it wonderful for families. The State Routes to get to the park are very hilly but manageable. The Township Road to the park didn't feel like 2 Lanes, they recommend 2nd gear going downhill into the Park, which meant Leaving was a very slow grind up many hills - The very FIRST time I ever used First Gear on my 1 Ton Ram Dually! We camped at Austin Lake RV Park and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Campground, Beckley, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A nice little park. We arrived in the rain and got temporarily stuck on the last steep uphill turn into the Campground. Its all paved - Suggest swing wide to the outside of the curve. We pulled directly into the Campground whereas they suggest you check-in at the Gift Shop. There is a small "parking" lot on Ewart Avenue, but it would have been tricky turning our Fifth Wheel around in it. Our narrow but long site was very sloped side-to-side (sites are "terraced" on a hill) Bathhouse was locked the one time I wanted to visit it. NO wi-fi. We camped at Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Smokie Mountains are awesome. Row G closest to the River has the Premium Sites, some having concrete Patios. Wi-Fi and Water Pressure are adequate. Cable TV is available at each site. Our Row C site was a little tricky to pull-in due to adjacent Tree, but it did provide nice shade. Some other sites have the same challenge.

Twelve Oaks RV Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park close to attractions, fine dining, fuel, Wal-Mart. Paved sites with lanterns. Easy to back in sites as we couldn't get one of their pull-throughs. Very friendly and helpful staff. Visible signage to the Park along the road, make sure to go down their street past the first RVs and building. We were confused by all the RVs in the "Front" and the good sized building there, but were promptly directed to the back to check-in and park. We camped at Twelve Oaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Lakes Resort, Langston, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great service and amenities with many recreation opportunities and onsite dining, dog park, OTA TV service. Sites are close together like most parks and need much more gravel (some sites have none). Cement Patio was at or below grade so dried slowly and difficult to remove mud from recent rain and prior occupants. Got a lot of mud on my truck and trailer due to insufficient gravel. We camped at Mountain Lakes Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

River Country Campground, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Second time we've stayed here. Typical angled rows for most sites. Ours was slightly unlevel. On a lake and very scenic. Appreciate being guided to our site and immediate service when I thought my site Cable TV hookup was messed up (problem on my end). Great Clubhouse for events. They'll pick up your trash as the dumpster is just outside the park entrance. Very friendly staff. We camped at River Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
