Lake Anita State Park, Anita, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, nice state park. Well cared for, quiet and full hookups. We had all the major stations out of Omaha. Plenty of driveways, bike paths to walk the dogs. I'll have to give state parks a second look if they are anything like this. We camped at Lake Anita State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beaver Lake Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

I'm glad I was steered away from another CG and came here. Nice surroundings with tree and grass and gravel roads. Great place. My only problem was that my site had a bad CATV signal with snowy channels. Plenty of things to do with kids: water slide, bunnies, pool and playground. We camped at Beaver Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Real nice CG and would stay here again. Right off I-90. Beware, only 25% of site are 50A. 60 channels on CATV. Internet may require re-sign on after absence. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful, helpful work campers. But...the c.g. is on a hill. The sites are terraced with the utilities on the uphill side. That is, the sewer is about the same height of your outlet. Also, my site was not level causing my curbside wheels to be off the ground by half a foot. The internet antenna is on the shower house with a 3 foot pole. Not high enough to hit my rv. It was blocked by other trailers. Spotty cell service. Only 1 air channel. Doubt I would stay here again. The other ratings are too generous. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

You have to traverse through a construction/commercial area to get there but once you turn the corner, you say to yourself, "Nice". Manicured lawns, curbed sites, utility stations for hookups, plenty of CATV channels, newer out-buildings. I couldn't hear much highway noise. Be aware - a $2 dink per dog and a max of two. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Canyon Camper Village, Tusayan, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Not bad. Close to GC South Rim park entrance. Close to town. Bathroom could be updated. The sites are a little worn. Dusty dirt from gopher holes. No CATV, no air channels. WiFi limited to 1 MBS. Would stay here again. We camped at Grand Canyon Camper Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Couldn't get into the Boulder CG and settled for Nellis. Not bad but not very secure. The front driveway is wide open to the street with no gate. Lots of people walking/hanging around. The office is not operating. You have to go to Boulder to check in unless you call from the outside house phone and walk over after you hook up. Security does pass through once in awhile. The biggest complaint is the curbing around the campsite. Could you at least make it a 45 degree one? (Next door's RV Resort had a $29 special for any site. Should have tried that.) We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town in a Fifth Wheel.

Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park), Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America rate of $25 a night. Caution: there are "pull-throughs" but the length wasn't enough for our trailer so we had to do a back-in. My only suggestion would be to orient the back-ins at a 45 degree angle from the street. But what a great park. Their rec center with the hot spring pools was wonderful. The park was neat and clean. The people here are friendly and seem very pleased with everything. I would definitely come back again. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Park RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

It looks like the owner is trying to improve the grounds. Loads of creeping ivy is being torn out on both sides of the front block wall and the rear fence by the dog walk area. The blacktop is looking a little tired maybe that is next. Yes, I-5 is above the CG and west and causes traffic noise but it is an urban area and you have to expect it. The CG is well located. The office/rec area is decent. We camped at Santa Fe Park RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Villa Alameda RV Resort (55+ Park), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I spent two nights here because we were passing through to CA. I am grateful for that because it is the high season and most parks are filled with seasonal renters and offer no overnighters. The worst part is that the sites are tight. Not only that but the seasonals stake out every square inch of "their" plot with sheds, fencing, ATVs, membrane garages and what not. I tried backing in my 40 footer and had a hell of a time. Other than that, very clean, quiet, and plenty of fruit they share, and places to walk the dog. We camped at Villa Alameda RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The full-page ad in the Good Sam Trailer Life Directory sold me on trying this place. When I first laid eyes on it, I was disappointed. It looks like it had paved roads and sites 50 years ago and it was left to crumble away from neglect. The sites sorely need some landscape touch up. But other than that, the front desk lady was very friendly and they had Internet. We camped at Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pea Patch RV Park, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Here are the pluses: 1. Location - Park once and walk to Main Street and most of the attractions on the west end. 2. The staff is very helpful and friendly. 3. Great CATV (70+ Channels including HBO) and Wi-Fi. Negatives: 1. Hilly and tight turns. I have a 40' rig and it was tight on an uphill tight turn. Because it was off-season, they allowed me to use 4 sites along the back, upper road. 2. The grounds need some attention with leveling and terracing. I would stay here again. We camped at Pea Patch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kamper Kompanion RV Park, Litchfield, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Good campground right off the Interstate. We did get air channels. Good Internet signal. Nice surroundings. Water pressure was sketchy, because of the drought in the area. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Kamper Kompanion RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wide open campground. Not far from anything. The internet is a little sketchy. Our neighbor was blocking our shot at the antenna. The water smells like a river. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Lake Park, Conneaut, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place. Only thing is that the pull-thrus have no sewer hookup. If you want that, they put you in a back-in site. Air channels only. Lake on premises. We camped at Evergreen Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.
