Monument Valley KOA, Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient to Monument Valley. We had a very long, gravel pull-through, with ample room to park our tow. Interior roads are easy to navigate. Restrooms are small but clean. There is a small dog park and a larger grass area for walking. Children's playground is nice. Views of Monument Valley are gorgeous. WiFi didn't work and no Verizon internet, but this is a remote area. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Junction KOA, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very neat and clean park. Sites and roads are fresh gravel, utilities work well and staff were friendly and helpful. WiFi didn't work well at all and would barely access email. Interior raids are very wide and easy to navigate. The dog runs are small and narrow, not adequate for large dogs. We walked around the neighborhood out back, which was a bit sketchy, but we had no issues. It's quite a drive to I-70, so the park might not be convenient for an overnight while traveling. We camped at Grand Junction KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a popular park for an overnight stay. Conveniently located off I-80, well-kept, long pull throughs, a few grocery items in stock, friendly staff. What more could you ask for. We camped at Rawlins KOA in a Motorhome.

Absaroka Bay RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The good: the park is clean, grass is mowed, price is reasonable, close to everything in Cody, quiet at night, fast, free WiFi. Interior roads are asphalt. The not so good: sites are very close together, maneuvering can be challenging when the park is full, dog walking area is a grass strip at the back of the park which isn't adequate for large dogs. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful park in the rolling hills of the Little Big Horn River area. Sites are huge, with plenty of room, grass and picnic table. All sites are pull through and very long. The park is very convenient to the Little Big Horn Battlefield. WiFi worked great, even though you're in a rural setting. Be aware that the last 1/4 mile or so is gravel road. Just go slowly and you'll be fine. Interior roads are wide and easy to navigate. You're guided to your site by the friendly staff. You even get a free ice cream bar at check-in. Just a great place to stay. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Of course, a visit to the battlefield is a must. Take the narrated tour for a great orientation to the battles. Ranger talks are also very informative. Custer Battlefield Trading Post just outside the Park has a very good cafe and store with lots of jewelry and souvenirs.

Red Lodge KOA, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Options with hookups in Red Lodge are very limited. I assume this park takes advantage of that fact. If it wasn't filled with RV's one might think it was an abandoned property. Grass and weeds dominate the sites and grounds. Our picnic table was a usable due to foot-high weeds all around it. Interior roads are dirt with numerous potholes that become mud holes after a rain. Maneuvering a Class A around the roads is an obstacle course. Sites and roads are in desperate need of grading and gravel. There is a decent sized dog park, but a mound of branches and trash that appears to have been there for a very long time is right next to it. Office staff were friendly and efficient, however. We would not stay here again. KOA should have higher standards. We camped at Red Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Mountain Meadow RV Park and Cabins, Hungry Horse, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, this park is located in the forest on the side of a hill. We were fortunate enough to have a site that was easy to get into. Others require some maneuvering. The entrance road is freshly paved and gravel has been spread throughout the park where needed. Staff were busy sprucing up the picnic tables. Bathroom was very clean and fresh. There's a nice dog park and a mowed meadow for dog walking. WiFi doesn't work at all and staff are up-front that it's poor. We couldn't get satellite or OTA tv due to the forest. The entrance to Glacier is an easy drive. We camped at Mountain Meadow RV Park and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park located on the shore of Lake Hebgen, about 15 miles from W Yellowstone. Interior roads are in excellent condition, sites are spacious and perfectly maintained, and views of the lake and surrounding mountains are fantastic. The grounds are immaculate with large grass areas for walking. WiFi worked well. Boat rentals are available at the park. We saw bald eagles, pelicans and ospreys flying over the lake. Getting to Yellowstone was easy. We saw a large herd of bison on the road into town. Such a pleasant place to stay! We camped at Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina in a Motorhome.

Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground, Wilson, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, any private campground in Jackson is very expensive. This park is located on the road to Teton Village and convenient to Jackson (but you will deal with a lot of traffic). We had a premium back in site at the back of the park. It was long and spacious. We had a lot of room on each side and tall trees for shade. WiFi worked well for the most part. Check in was easy and efficient. The park is very quiet and peaceful. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain Valley RV Resort, Heber City, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is what an RV resort should be. Sites are pull through, concrete and spot-on level. The grounds are immaculate. Check in was quick and easy. You're guided to your site and help is offered. There are two dog parks, one to the front of the park and a huge one to the back. Both are manicured grass, with not a bit of poop to be seen. Pools and spas are located in the family section and adult section. Clubhouses are beautiful. Restrooms are private and pristine. Lovely mountains surround the park. The park was very quiet. We would stay again, without a doubt. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge campground located just outside Bryce Canyon National Park. The free shuttle (with park admission or pass) picks up just outside the campground. Check in was fast and efficient even though it was very busy. Our site was a dirt pull through in the older section. Most sites in this area appear to be very un-level as was ours. Management did trim some branches for us to allow our slides to extend. Quiet hours were observed, and our stay was pleasant. There are lots of open spaces for walking. Ruby's General Store has a good variety of items reasonably priced for location near the park. We camped at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a new park west of Amarillo, easy on/off I-40, clean and pleasant. We had a deluxe pull through and didn't have to unhook the tow. Site was level concrete with a nice picnic table and patio. Dallas Northeast Campground (formerly Dallas Northeast/Caddo Mills KOA, Caddo Mills, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground just east of Dallas. It is very convenient to Rockwall, Garland and Mesquite. Sites are gravel and mostly level. Interior roads are gravel and easily navigated. There are many permanent residents, but sites are tidy and uncluttered. A small lake is available for fishing. A very large, mowed field is great for walking. Restrooms were clean. The road noise from I-30 is noticeable outside, but not bothersome inside. We camped at Dallas Northeast Campground (formerly Dallas Northeast/Caddo Mills KOA in a Motorhome.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This park is mostly used for overnight stops on I-40. Road noise wasn't too bad. The campground is typical for the area - nothing much to look at. Sites are dirt and gravel, weeds abundant between sites. Interior roads had muddy potholes. There was no hot water in the women's shower, reason unknown. Can't comment on office staff as we arrived and left outside of office hours. Sites are laid out in the buddy system. Our slide was inches from our neighbor. Price was way too much for this KOA. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Travel Trailer.
