Travel Inn Resort, Elma, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easy to get in and out and easy to navigate. Roads paved and sites are gravel. Utilities are at the back of the site and worked well. The restroom was clean. Laundry is good price and clean. We wanted to use the WiFi but it was not working. Verizon worked fine. They've been making some improvements to the park such as new gravel on some sites and running new electricity and posts at some sites. This work on the sites has eliminated, at least for now, any grass in those sites with hopes that they will reseed. There is a lot of noise from traffic and train whistles. We camped at Travel Inn Resort in a Truck Camper.

Sunrise Resorts-Pier Four, Moses Lake, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easy to get in and out and easy to navigate. Roads and sites are paved. Utilities were at the back of the site and worked well. The restroom was clean. Laundry was big, good price and clean. Verizon strong signal and fast. Did not use their WiFi. Nice looking pool. Boat launch and docks. There is a nice place to sit in the shade on the lake. There is a walking bridge to cross the highway to a nice park on the other side. We camped at Sunrise Resorts-Pier Four in a Truck Camper.

Ponderosa Falls RV Resort , Cheney, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in/out. Interior roads are very dusty gravel and sites are a mix of gravel and dirt. Utilities are well placed and worked fine. Pay WiFi for one dollar per day was OK most of the time. Strong Verizon signal. The facilities are nice but most of the sites are extremely close together. Laundry, restroom and showers were fine. We camped at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Mountain Meadow RV Park and Cabins, Hungry Horse, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in/out. Interior roads are dusty gravel and sites are crushed stone. The sites are notched into the hill and between trees so roads, sites and utility configuration along with levelness is widely varied. We had a 30 amp water with no sewer that was fairly level. Utilities worked well. WiFi availability at sites is sporadic and speed when you get it is very slow. Verizon signal was ok. Restrooms were clean and shower was very nice. Laundry was nice. The dump station is not level so when I pulled my lever nothing came out until I leveled. The place is expensive but you pay for location to the park. We camped at Mountain Meadow RV Park and Cabins in a Truck Camper.

Chewing Black Bones Campground, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in and out. Helpful staff when it came to figuring out site hookups. Site utility setups are not consistent in placement including which side of the site. There is confusion by almost everyone that comes in and tries to find their site. Interior road is gravel and sites are basically what I call open unimproved field. The restroom is ok but the men's showers are nothing I would go near unless I had too. Wifi only at the office and it was useless but Verizon was fast. Water pressure was often very low as it cycled with well pressure. We had a site, C10, that was supposed to be a back-in but we used as a pull-thru so the hookups would work. This is a convenient location to the east Glacier NP entrances. Come with food because shopping is very limited. The IGA in Browning was good but is 30 miles away. We camped at Chewing Black Bones Campground in a Truck Camper.

Townsite Campground (Parks Canada), Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is a little tricky to find only because the signage through town is not good. Our GPS did take us through town and right to it. The park roads and sites are gravel. We had a site with 30 amp electric only and it was level with a big, new picnic table. The restroom and showers are used heavily but still weren't bad as they are cleaned daily. The showers are about as nice as you'll find in a campground. There are big community sinks in this section of the park to wash dishes and get drinking water in your water bottles. Potable water spigots on the side of the restroom building. We got Dish satellite from our site as the angle to the south over the lake is open between the mountains. Tips for other Campers:

The setting is gorgeous and easy walk into town for lots of places to eat. There is no WiFi in the campground but if you walk into town there is a community WiFi (Waterton Wifi) and it seemed strongest near the city playground. The shoreline is very long so there is plenty of room for people to sit and enjoy the setting, bring your own chair. We did the boat tour one morning and it was fantastic.

Gas City Campground, Medicine Hat, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in/out. Roads and sites are paved. We had a level, 30 amp, full hookup site and utilities worked well. Wifi worked well. Restroom and showers were clean. Laundry facility is nice and clean. I would return for a night if passing through again but I would not stay longer due to the high price. We camped at Gas City Campground in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

Easy to get in/out. Roads and sites are paved. Most sites are pull-thru and pretty level. We had a 30 amp full hookup site and utilities worked well. Wifi worked very well. Restroom and showers were clean although the metal shower stalls were very rusty at the bottom. We camped at Prairie Oasis Tourist Complex in a Truck Camper.

Buffalo Lookout Campground, Regina, Saskatchewan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Coming from the east you need to make a wide loop around to get to the park but it is well signed. Interior roads are gravel as well as the sites. Our site had utilities on the wrong side but they worked fine. Wifi worked well enough for basic browsing. Large shower and restroom building was clean. Traffic noise is constant from highway so bring ear plugs. We camped at Buffalo Lookout Campground in a Truck Camper.

Winnipeg West KOA , St. Fran├žois Xavier, Manitoba

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in and out. Road and sites are very dusty gravel. Utilities located between mid-site and back of site. Ours worked well. Wifi was down periodically, you have to keep reconnecting and speed varied. Highway noise is as expected when very close to the highway. Nice new restroom and showers in the middle of the campground. Helpful staff. I would stay here again. We camped at Winnipeg West KOA in a Truck Camper.

Wabigoon Lake RV Park, Wabigoon, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easy to get in and out. There is one simple loop road that is gravel. Sites are gravel and pretty level with full hookups. All water spigots have signs to not drink the water because it has not been certified for drinking so come with your own drinking water. Our utilities worked well. Wifi worked fine for basics. My Verizon phone picked up full bars while roaming. The restroom and showers were clean and nice. It couldn't be any closer to the highway which of course means traffic noise and there is also a train track on the other side with trains running and blowing horn all night - we had at least ten during our short one night stay. We camped at Wabigoon Lake RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Grand Portage Lodge and Casino, Grand Portage, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Checking in is made difficult by having to go to the Marina on the end of a dead-end road and then get turned around to go to a site. The ease of turnaround is determined by the current parking situation of boat trailer parking. You may want to stop where you see the restroom building. Campground road and sites are gravel. Utilities mid-site worked fine. The campground Wifi only seems to work for a handful of sites in the middle of the park but it is available in the Casino/Lodge. No Verizon signal at all, we were told ATT would work. Laundry is one washer and one dryer. Restroom was not cleaned very often. We camped at Grand Portage Lodge and Casino in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

In addition to the Grand Portage National Monument, Grand Portage State Park is about 8 miles north just before the border crossing. There is a nice, paved walk to an impressive water fall. If you drive up to the state park, there two options for overlooks of Lake Superior and Isle Royale on the horizon.

Grand Marais RV Park & Campground, Grand Marais, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get into but navigating can be a bit of a challenge with a lot of narrow, curvy roads. Roads are mostly paved and sites are gravel. Sites are very close together and vary in levelness and utility hookup location. Most seem to have all hookups in the far back of the site. Our utilities worked fine. Wifi only works close to the office and is slow. Verizon signal was fine. Satellite reception is touch and go with lots of trees but also lots of openings so it is a bit of luck involved. There are several restrooms that varied from dirty and smelly to not too bad. You are paying for location, not for a great park. We camped at Grand Marais RV Park & Campground in a Truck Camper.

Vermilion Sunsets RV Park, Cook, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get to right on county road 24. One gravel road with sites angled for parking in the way in with a tight turnaround area on the end when it is time to leave and go back out. Sewer at the front of the site and water electric at back. Utilities worked fine. There was Wifi that worked well. Verizon signal good. We camped at Vermilion Sunsets RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Northland Camping & RV Park, Superior, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get in/out and to navigate. Gravel roads. Good length sites are grass and gravel and some have concrete runners for tire tracks. Utilities are mid-site and worked well. Wifi works well in or near office and pool. Verizon signal is strong. Laundry was fine. Restroom are old, rough and look off-putting but are clean and functional. Highway is close and noise is relentless with periodic train whistles at all hours also. Ear plugs were a must for me. Must pay with cash or check.
