Lake Oconee / Greensboro KOA, Greensboro, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very poor park for motorhomes. Very uneven sites, potholes, very short. We had a pull thru that back up to and into another site that was unoccupied. We had to unhook to get out of the hilly uneven site. If it had not been nearly dark, we would have been better served to have slept on the side of the road. This is NOT a park for motorhomes longer than 30 feet or towable that are short. We camped at Lake Oconee / Greensboro KOA in a Motorhome.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We were here only 1 night but very close to I55 and the 240 loop as well as our route the next day. Elvis Presley Blvd is pretty rough and there is also some construction going on. There is a pool. We had a pull thru where we didn't have to unhook our tow. Some pull thrus were much shorter. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Show-Me Rest RV Park, Butler, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

You are very close to the Interstate between Kansas City and Joplin. Convenient on and off. We were only looking for a clean spot with good electric and full hookups. This park provided that. There was plenty of room to walk our pets and the park tho small is well maintained. We camped at Show-Me Rest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Double Nickel Campground, Waco, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

A very well kept park with a clean pool, playground and other kid entertainments. The staff is very friendly and very hands on. The only drawback is the entrance is very rough with broken concrete but this levels out as one travels into the sites. Most sites have trees that are not intrusive and a nice swing underneath. The grass is nice and green. This was a true gem just off exit 360 and Interstate 80 between Grand Island and Lincoln Nebraska. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

Valley View RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We had full hook hookups and a pull through. The park is about 13 miles from the West Yellowstone Entrance. There is a huge washerteria here that probably services a lot of the area around. Sites were easy to get in and out of. Plenty of room. We used Passport America for 2 nights so for 4 nights we paid $200. We camped at Valley View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This park has deteriorated in appearance and quality of sites. There are numerous pot holes-too many to weave around and instead of the clean transient park we remember it is filled with full timers who have untidy sites. One has to watch where they walk as people are not cleaning up after their pets. The trash bins were filled to overflowing which was attracting a lot of flies. Ok for an overnight. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Like most parks in Moab this one is out in the open and we had over 100degrees each day. The park is right off 191 south of Moab and only a couple miles from town. The staff was friendly and we have no complaints. This is just a dusty hot area in the summer. All services worked as advertised. We camped at ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center in a Motorhome.

Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were 40 miles from Durango but across the road from Mesa Verde National Park. The park like most in this area is dry and dusty. Have to watch the pups to keep from getting stickers. Signage into and out of the park is good. There is a pool and horseback riding is available next door. There is a small campground store as well. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Motorhome.

Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

After we had to move from another park, the lady here was most accommodating. She gave us our first choice of 3 sites and we have extended twice while our tow vehicle was repaired. It is asphalt and gravel so I walk my dogs early or late. Some people do not pick up after their pets. The park is located in the middle of everything just off one of the main roads. Have to be careful exiting the park in a car and even more do with an RV. 2 of the RVs are converted school buses and there is a mixture of very old and new RV's. No noise at night and everyone is friendly but not pushy. We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Motorhome.

Brantley Lake State Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The campground has mainly water and electric. There is a dump station but may not be able to get into with 40 foot motorhome. We were there only 2 nights so did not need to dump. The views of the lake are gorgeous and give one a good idea of this high desert country. There are walkways to the bathhouse and limited parking for the baths and toilets. They needed cleaning but were not nasty. Chose not to use. The back-in spot we had was plenty long. We had a covered picnic table that was grounded in cement. Lots of stickers and brambles. Wear close toed shoes and don't let pets get in the weeds. We were about 12 miles from town. Jalisco Mexican is a good place to eat. The roads into and out of the park were good. We camped at Brantley Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Carlsbad Caverns is 40 miles and our hour drive but worth it to see the park and the bat's exit by the 100's of thousands to feed for the night. There is also a desert museum but with the heat many animals were not visible as they would be at early am or dusk but the park is open 9-5.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Right off the interstate and close to town. In the middle of mesquite trees but sites were level and gravel. Lots of brambles and weeds to catch in dogs hair so be careful of that. Office has limited hours as the manager is maintaining the park. There was no little around. It appears most of the occupants are long term. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

LP gas was available at RV country right down the road. The Beehive was expensive but a good place to get a mesquite broiled steak. Frontier Texas was an awesome museum and not to be missed. The 12th Army Museum was very interesting as well.

Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Pecos, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Hot and dusty. Small space between the dirt sites. Close to town. The wash rack area was unusable due to trash and broken bottles. Most spots filled by long term oil/gas workers. There is no place to walk dogs except the RV road. The sides of the roadway have sticker weeds which can embed in the pets fur. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Oak Hollow Family Campground, High Point, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Interstate and Greensboro and Winston-Salem. We stayed here because it is within a 30 minute drive to Old Salem. Our GPS off Hwy 158 brought us here by numerous subdivisions but there are better ways. The campground has 3 sections, 2 wooded and one in the open. Ours is in the open with lots of gravel and delineation between sights is drawn with some kind of red paint. We can visually see the lake from our sight. Close to shopping and restaurants as well as sightseeing venues. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Paradise Lake Family Campground, Spout Spring, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were pleasantly surprised and pleased by this park. Good interior roads, good signage to get to the park and extremely well maintained. Shopping was available in Appomattox 6 miles away along with fast food and local restaurants. Highway 460 is 4 lane and busy. Caution must be used entering and exiting the access road to the campground. We stayed 2 nights. Checkout is 1 pm. We would stay here again. Washington DC / Capitol KOA, Millersville, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park 3 times since 2011. It does not appear to have improved in 9 years. The sites are still uneven, most have little or no gravel so are muddy when it rains, dusty when dry. The roads inside the campground are dirt. There are few 50 amp sites but we got one because we booked in March. The location is great. It is a shame this park carries the KOA name as one assumes a quality that is not available. Interior roads need to be resurfaced with gravel, sites need to be leveled, and more 50 amp spots installed. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.
