Stone Mountain Park, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed the Stone Mountain Campground. Even though it was almost completely full, it was very quiet and pleasant. Some of the sites have fairly steep drop-offs (around 4-6 feet) down to the lower sites below, so be careful if you have small children. Luckily, our site was one of the lower ones. Didn't get any satellite TV signal due to the lush tree foliage, but it was a welcome trade-off that isn't worth complaining about. Some of the sites also have concrete pads -- ask for one of those if you can. There's a lot to see and do at the Park itself, especially for the little ones. The two-day pass is definitely worth it. Our stay was made more enjoyable by a couple of great neighbors, whom we met around the fire one of the nights, and the lasershow/fireworks were a big hit with the kids as well. We certainly plan on coming back soon, perhaps for one of the special event weekends later this summer. We camped at Stone Mountain Park in a Travel Trailer.
