Falling Waters Campsite, Falling Waters, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

I want to give this park the benefit of the doubt, but if our experience with them is at all indicative of their day to day operations, it’s not good. We called a few days prior to arrival looking for an overnight stay. The man answering the phone said they don’t accept reservations, but he’d absolutely have a space available and to call the morning we were to arrive. We called, were told a space to fit our needs was available and to come on in. When we arrived, we were told by the manager that there were no spaces. My wife told him we spoke to someone in the office that morning and were told a space was available. “Oh. Well, that guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Let me see if maybe I have something.” We were what seemed almost reluctantly given a spot up the road in a portion of the park held over for workers using their RV as a residence. It was disgusting. What appeared to be dried up waste/toilet paper, etc., from a leak was covering most of the site next door. The sewer connection was set at an angle using a non threaded pipe, making it difficult to secure the sewer line. The water hookup was underground about two feet below the surface with stagnant water at the bottom. When we went to remove the hose in the morning, I was up to my elbow in standing water. I bleached everything even close to it. The 50/30 amp pedestal was old and could not handle a/c and a microwave at the same time without tripping the breaker. The site was not at all level and well, frankly, if it wasn’t for the fact that we were too tired to go searching for another place, we wouldn’t have stayed. We camped at Falling Waters Campsite in a Motorhome.

Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a true pleasure to stay at. It’s incredibly clean, neat and well organized. The owners live on the property and are there to greet you when you arrive. Very nice people. The sites are spacious, ever iWorks as it should and an added bonus, it’s located right in the heart of Amish country and bordered by a working farm. We would return here without hesitation. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Motorhome.

Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino), Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is about as close to a perfect RV park that we have been to in ten years on the road. The (pull thru) sites are 70' long, everything is paved, lush grass between the sites, a casino, restaurants, huge gas station all on premises. The view is exceptional. The roads are wider than many residential streets, access to the sites is effortless. Everything worked perfectly with no hassles or issues whatsoever. We camped at Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino) in a Motorhome.

Silver City RV Resort, Minden, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Disappointed is perhaps the best way to describe our stay here. I understand that the park is under new ownership and efforts are supposedly in place to improve the facility, but until then I have to give Silver City resort a "do not recommend" rating. When we made our reservations by phone, we explained that we were over 60' in combined length and needed to keep our trailer connected as that is how we charge a mobility cart. We told them that our RV was a 43' class A that had to have 50A electrical supply, no exceptions. We were told that the pull thru sites were all 65' long with 50A available. So, imagine our surprise upon arrival to find out that the site we needed was unavailable as the owner was putting his RV there. Not even remotely true. The owner is off property and was not expected. Then they found a site that would be just fine. Not even close. Our coach is 43', the site has only 44' useable space as the parking pad drops off too steeply to be even remotely useable. They told us we could keep the trailer hooked up and let it hang over into the parking lot since we were an end space and the trailer would not block anything. Then the people at registration inform me that we could not run any more than two a/c units as they have insufficient power and "too many big rigs" at the campground to provide sufficient power to everyone. The daily temperatures were 96 to 99 degrees. Unacceptable. We were then told that the site we were to occupy really shouldn't even be used because of the chronic electrical issues there. We pulled in since that was all they had available after screwing up our reservation. The power "browns out" with one a/c on. We've had to use the generator to keep cool. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The owners describe their park as a "no frills" place to camp and relax in. I would have to agree 100%. This park is all about relaxing and taking in the great views surrounding the sites. The sites are spacious, with a large grass islands between each pad. Plenty of trees, lots of birds, including road runners, acres upon acres of grassy prairie land, a river in the lower site areas and great Texas sunset views. They have one of the best dog parks we have come across in years. Hidden Valley RV Park is only 20 minutes from down town San Antonio, which makes it an ideal place to start exploring from. The only minus and it's not a big one, is the private road leading into the park is exceptionally dusty in the dry season. If you keep your speed below ten mph, it's tolerable. Car and RV washing IS allowed as long as you stop by the office and purchase a four dollar wash permit. A good deal. This is not a child or family type park. It's simply a very good place to use as home base. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Presnell's Bayside Marina & RV Resort, Port St. Joe, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a newly renovated rv park and marina. It's directly on the gulf of Mexico with beautiful western exposure and beautiful sunsets. Everything is new. The sites, buildings, pool, marina, you name it. The sites are decently level and has decent room between RVs. All of the utilities worked as expected. For a fishing/boating park, this place is great. We easily launched our kayaks at their marina. We would recommend staying here. We camped at Presnell's Bayside Marina & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Payne's RV Park, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

A quiet, basic park with huge pull through sites, lots of trees, open spaces and a nice pond. Sites are mostly grass, decently level and all of the utilities work as expected. You pick your own site upon arrival, which was kind of nice since we were able to face the pond. Lots of water fowl and other birds in the park. A good number of sites were occupied by workers and a few full timers, but only a few trash RVs on the property. The owners are friendly and are on property. This is a basic no frills park which makes the PA rate attractive. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bolivar Peninsula RV Park, Crystal Beach, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic no frills RV park, but it's a decent deal with the PA rates. The sites are long and mostly level. The pull thru we had easily fit our 70' coach and trailer combination. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to help if needed. Electric worked properly, water and sewer connections were in good order as well. There is decent room between the spaces, no shared utilities. Right off the main drag and only 11 miles from the ferry too Gavleston. If what you are looking for is a decent basic place to stay while touring the area, it's a good place to stay. We camped at Bolivar Peninsula RV Park in a Motorhome.

Poche's RV Park, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The park is located on a beautiful piece of property with most of the sites positioned around numerous lakes that you can fish in. Most are back in with a hand full of pull through sites. The sites have plenty of room between them with trees and grass surrounding the sites. Using PA, the value was good. The only issue we had was that the roads in the park were bordering on horrendous. Missing pavement, large pot holes and deformed blacktop high enough to easily catch a jack on an RV. Other than that, it was nice. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Willows on the Lake, Adams, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a gem of an RV park to be sure. This was our first time here and to the region, so everything was new to us. We stayed here a month in a class A RV in a full hookup 50A pull-thru. The owners live on site and are extremely attentive to their guest's needs and to the overall condition of the park. The sunsets over Lake Ontario at their pergola were a treat as was the entertainers they hired on the weekends. This is a quiet, friendly, adult park. The sites are spacious, plenty of trees and grass and access to the main road is easy. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped at The Willows on the Lake in a Motorhome.

Lake Pines RV Park and Campground, Columbus, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park is a work in progress. Mostly full time residents and workers in the area. The driveway is quite rough and tough to navigate. Really nice barn, chapel and pond on location but that's really it. Makes a good place to use as a stop over. The owner is on location and very nice. We camped at Lake Pines RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The Rock RV Park, Rockmart, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The park is exceptionally well maintained. There are multiple tiers with some sites well over 100' long. Ours was located parallel to a grove of trees. There are about seventy cows that come visit the pasture next door. There is a great museum on property as well as an entertainment center. This really is not a park for kids. It's more for laying back and relaxing. The town of Rockmart has a dumpy "historic" section and a newer work in progress. Other than bicycling The Comet Trail, it's 100 percent boring. We camped at The Rock RV Park in a Motorhome.
