Valley View RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with other users that this RV park is a bit over priced, however we were impressed with the RV park. We stayed for 8 days. You should know ahead of time that the tables provided in the sites are strong plastic tables so if you intend to use a tabletop BBQ, you need to bring your own fire-resistant table. It was clean, quiet, conveniently located, and the sites are spaced well. Many other campgrounds we saw while in the area had the sites very crowded together and were aged and not very clean or appealing. The water quality was very good and without any water pressure problems. The Valley View staff were very friendly and helpful. A very nice group of people. They were eager to help make our visit as pleasing as possible. They had a lot of tourist information available for their guests. They also allowed you privacy while camped there. They made sure you knew they were there to help you, but they did not make you feel like they were spying on you or like they were policing your use of their sites. They even had a laundry mat available. We enjoyed our stay there. My ONLY complaint was that the dog people were rather lax regarding picking up after their dogs. You did have to watch your step when walking down roads and if you were anywhere near the pet area. There was no poo in our actual campsite---that was very well maintained. The highways were well maintained. Very good high quality water in this area. Make sure you have your camera well charged up. You will want to take a lot of pictures. Take your telescope if you like to gaze at the stars. Not a lot of ambient lighting to obscure your viewing sessions. We camped at Valley View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Heyburn State Park - Benewah Campground, Plummer, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Clean park, friendly personnel, nice interpretive center, miles and miles of bike trails. The only reason why rating is not excellent is because the highway noise is close. You can't see it, but you sure know it is there. Noise does subside in the evenings. The bathrooms were clean but a bit run down. Beautiful area. There were a few big rigs here but the turning on some corners was probably a bit tricky. Only a few sites have sewer so be sure that is specified on your reservation. We expected this park to be a bit larger knowing that it was remodeled a couple years ago. The first State Park in Idaho. We camped at Heyburn State Park - Benewah Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Carmela RV Park, Glenns Ferry, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

No restrooms so you need to have your own facilities in your camper. Excellent management at this park. Staff frequently goes above and beyond the call of duty for his guests. New in 2011 is a punch card to stay 3 nights get the 4th night free. You also get a complimentary glass of wine with your meal if you go to the winery's 4 star restaurant. The wine here is excellent. Glenn's Ferry is a charming town with that old fashioned 'Mayberry' feeling to it. Glenn's Ferry really knows how to put on a first class 4th of July celebration complete with 3 legged races and home made corn dogs. Fireworks can be seen from the RV park so you don't need to leave to go watch them. The campground hosts a great BBQ for the guests on the 4th. This is one of our favorite places to camp. We camped at Carmela RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
