Hidden Cove Park Marina & Resort, Frisco, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a private campground with the feel of a public park. There are day use areas, and a marina on a large lake. Access is through completely developed residential area of Frisco. Our site was a concrete pad with a picnic table. The site was level and easy into. The bathhouses were clean, but we did not use them. Roads in the park are good blacktop. We camped at Hidden Cove Park Marina & Resort in a Motorhome.

Quail Run RV Resort, Wesley Chapel, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Quail Run four nights. This is an excellent RV resort. The area is well maintained, gated and quite. The older side we were in has gravel parking areas with concrete patios. There we many large live oaks and palm trees. Many of the permanent resident sites had tropical trees, shrubs and flowers planted. The newer side has concrete parking slabs and patios. There are trees there as well, just smaller. The are many leisure opportunities provided and scheduled at the facility. We took advantage of their large library and traded our used books. We enjoyed our stay at Quail Run and would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Quail Run RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Casey Jones for one night passing through. We were in a very long grassy pull through. Even though not paved or rocked it was very level. There were no breakers on the electrical hookups just plugs for 50 and 30 amps. Worked fine; it just seems to skip an important safety feature. We would stay here again if in the Lake City, FL area again. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Motorhome.

Florala City Park, Florala, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night as we were passing through. We were able to call and make a reservation. However, when we arrived at 3:00 on Friday, there was no one there to check us in. The payment (cash or check) is self service. Sites available are first come first serve. The site was crushed rock with a picnic table. The site was level and suitable. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Florala City Park in a Motorhome.

Lambert's Cafe RV Park (formerly Stage Stop RV Park), Ozark, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Lambert's is a gravel lot with hookups. The check-in is entirely self service. Paying by cash or check the rate was $30. There is a credit card kiosk. There is a convenience fee added if you use it. I called for a reservation but obviously availability is first come first serve when you get there. Late arrivals with a reservation may not have a site on arrival. The camp ground is affiliated with Lambert's Café and is immediately behind the restaurant. Lambert's Café is well worth a visit. If there is a bath house on site, I never saw it. We camped at Lambert's Cafe RV Park (formerly Stage Stop RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tuttle Creek Cove COE, Manhattan, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Tuttle Creek Cove is a nice COE campground. We were in the Manhattan area for the MSU / KSU football game. This was a convenient location. There were hosts but the gate house was never open. We had reserved and prepaid. So, it was essentially self service entry. We never checked in. Someone dropped camp ground info at our camper. We were in the Lakeshore loop site 16. The bath house is on top of the hill and is not convenient to any sites in the loop. We camped at Tuttle Creek Cove COE in a Motorhome.

Lake Charles State Park, Powhatan, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night on our way through. This is a nice state campground. We were in the third loop which has full hookups w/50 amp power. We were in site 66. Most sites are shady 66 is sunny. 64, 66, 70, 73, and 77 are the most level looking with good length for a motorhome and parking. We camped at Lake Charles State Park in a Motorhome.

Aux Arc COE , Ozark, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We camped at Aux Arc one night as we were passing through. It is a few miles off I40, but at the senior discount rate of $10 dollars it was worth the drive. Besides the camp ground is on Lake Dardanelle at the Ozark Lake Lock and Dam. So, it is also worth the drive off the interstate to be on the river. The site we were on was F15 it was level concrete with a covered patio and picnic table. The trees in this area are smaller. If you want more shade the sites in the B, E and D sections have mature trees. We camped at Aux Arc COE in a Motorhome.

Foss State Park, Foss, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We camped at Foss State Park a couple of nights. We were just passing through, but we stayed the extra night so we could visit the Route 66 museum in Clinton. We were given the senior discount without asking or being an Oklahoma resident. Thanks Oklahoma. The camp site we were in was Cedar Point on the lake. The site was level concrete. There was a patio with a picnic table. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

Capulin RV Park & Camp, Capulin, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent campground. It can be a little crowded when it fills up. The owner does a good job of using space by placing larger units then filling in with smaller units sharing the same utility pedestals. He actually leads and directs each camper in. The National Park Capulin Volcano is nearby and well worth a visit. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park, Mosca, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent location to camp. It is a little ways off Highway 160 up highway 150. But you can see the sand dunes of the Great Sand Dunes National Park from the campground. You are against the Sangre Decristo Mountains to the East and the San Juan Mountains are to the West across the San Luis Valley. This campground can handle big campers. The campground in the Great Sand Dunes is not suitable for anything but small trailers, smaller class C, B and tent camping. There is a store and restaurant on site. We camped at Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shopping will be in Alamosa. We did not go to Mosca, so I don't know what is there. The camp ground store rents boards to slide down the dunes on.

Sky Ute Casino RV Park, Ignacio, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice camp ground located at the Sky Ute casino. The area is a desert but the casino grounds are maintained in lush condition. The sites are black top; the patio area is river rock. I rated the service bad because I arrived at 11:00 in the morning two hours before their 1:00 check out time. There were many sites available at the time, but they made me leave the facility even though I had reservations and come back at 1:00. When I got back at 1:00 they rushed me through the check-in process, because there were other campers waiting to get in. This is the only facility that has refused to check me in prior to their published check-in time when they had sites vacant. The rate here is very good for the four corners region. We camped at Sky Ute Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sleeping Ute RV Park (formerly Ute Mountain Casino RV Park), Towaoc, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here four nights while visiting the area. The rates here are as good as you can find in SW Colorado. Because of the nature of the location there is a lot of wind and dust. The camp ground area grass is watered to maintain the grass and trees. But the surrounding land is bare and dusty (Its a desert). Convenient to Mesa Verde, Four Corners. We camped at Sleeping Ute RV Park (formerly Ute Mountain Casino RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Cedar Creek RV Park, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed a two day stay here while visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The facility owners were very friendly. Follow the camping signs to the RV park on Hwy 50 rather than GPS for easier access. South on Hillcrest Drive, right on Alley Way. Entry directly across Rose Lane. This campground is well maintained. The laundry and bath house are clean. There is a mini-golf course on site. The facility also has cabins available. We camped at Cedar Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night because it was the week of July 4th and we did not have reservations. Had to move to a different camp ground in Montrose for a few more days. This is a KOA campground and is acceptably nice. However, the sites are very tight. We camped at Montrose / Black Canyon Nat'l Park KOA in a Motorhome.
