Stonewall Resort, Briar Point Campground , Roanoke, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is on a peninsula with water on three side near the Stonewall Resort across the water. I am very impressed with how well maintained this campground is kept up and how nice the sites are with blacktop for each trailer and gravel area for each picnic table and fire ring. There is plenty of grass around each site. There is a boardwalk near the front of the park near site #1 which goes over the the lodge and is a beautiful walk, I went over several times while walking my dog Callie. There are at least two playground areas for children. I noticed several people fishing off the edges of the park. Each site has it own trash container and recycling container which is enclosed by a wooded structure and covered by a steel grate to prevent wildlife from getting in, a very nice convienience. I am only passing through on a multi-state trip but would definitely return again if I were in the area again. The other campers were very friendly as well. Not sure if that is because this is West Virginia. We camped at Stonewall Resort, Briar Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a walk on the boardwalk crossing the water to the lodge and bring your camera! There is also a graveyard near site #40 with one of the nicest gravestones of a person who loved camping and the outdoors, don't forget to take a look. The etching is incredible.

Logan / Hocking Hills KOA , Logan, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has a very nice view of the surrounding area and is situated on a hill. I am glad for my experience pulling a 5th wheel while navigating the roads in the park with the trailer in tow. When it came to leveling side to side, I had to put to boards under the drivers side and then an additional orange leveling block under each tire. Other than that, the site was very nice with the picnic table on an area of crushed rocks with a railroad tie boundary. The hookups were fine. There was the dog park area which my German Shepherd enjoyed. The pool was enjoyed by many on the hot 90 plus days I was here, but not overly crowded. They have a nice playground next to the pool, and a well stock camp store with pizza and ice cream. It is a family friendly camp with things for kids to do. Next summer to a different part of the country but if I find myself in Southern Ohio I would come back again. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made you feel like they were glad you were here. One drawback is the narrow access road which would not be good for two trailers to pass at the same time, and the road is a very steep incline. Pay attention to arrival and departure times and you'll have no problem. The access road in not under the campground's ability to change as it is controlled by the township. Don't let that stop you from visiting this very nice campground. It was nice to have Christmas in July during the 3 above 90 degree days I was here. The camp decorated several areas very nicely. We camped at Logan / Hocking Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Triple R Camping Resort & Trailer Sales, Franklinville, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is on a hill and was very picturesque with nice views of the surrounding area. This is a very well maintained facility and I think each site had a huge flower pot with several different colored flowers which were well groomed. Near my site #621 at the top of the hill was a bird house which made it enjoyable to see all the different birds. This would be great for families with children as they have a pool, a bounce pad, three different playgrounds. I wasn't able to ride my bike with my dog trailer behind because of the hills, but other campers did seem to enjoy navigating the hills with their bikes. I found the park easy to navigate around with my fifth wheel. The wooded trails were a treat for Callie, my German Shepherd. Next summer a different part of the country but if I am ever in the area I would definitely want to come back here again. We camped at Triple R Camping Resort & Trailer Sales in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Lake Campground, Lancaster, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

I have been coming to this campground since 2007. Every year there are upgrades and improvements. The pervious summer the owners added two water slides and enlarged the swimming pool. I had a premium site which overlooks the lake on the property. The lake allows swimming, fishing, kyacking, paddle boats. The campground is very well maintained and the owners and family are very friendly and helpful. There are several new cottages on the lake side of the campground too. This is by far my favorite campground ever and why I return year after year. It is truly a very family friendly campground with activity for children including a wagon ride around the park. There is a mixture of sites in the open and some more secluded sites with plenty of shade. The back side of the campground is a bit more hilly and roads are easy to navigate. They always have fireworks on the lake on the 4th of July. This is a gem in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We camped at Mountain Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
