Copper Mountain RV Park, Tacna, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here three nights, rate reflects Veteran discount; usual rate is $38/day. I somehow missed the four day PA rate of $21/day (my fault); when I extended a day I was given that option and took it, of course! No offer to apply it to our previous two days. I'll preface our review by saying that we aren't your typical RVers. We don't like rules but don't go out of our way to break them. We like a quiet park without intrusive pleas to play bingo. We have two cats who come in and out of a cat door - they bother no one, sleep most of the day, wander to the neighbors to sniff their rigs. This irritates most dog owners who have to leash their pet(s). Copper Mountain RV is a well-thought-out, clean, spacious, large, quad oriented, rule-bound park. If you like quiet this place is stellar. We found the front desk to be a bit antiquated - check in is done by hand on different colored cards, receipts are hand written. I asked about online software and was told "I've been talking to her about it." I believe the front desk person is the manager, job-driven (all that paperwork to fill out by hand!) with no welcoming chatter that is usually present at most front desks. My attempt at friendliness was rebuffed with no conversational enthusiasm on her part, no interest in who we are or where we're from. I don't know her of course, her life may be in turmoil right now for all I know. In eight years I've been to a lot of RV parks and I recognize when someone may not be a good fit - due to their own issues or the owners. They need a pool and rumor is it's in their future plan. I rode my bike all through the park every day and found no one interested in my greetings, or wanting a further conversation. I believe they're happy with their current group of campers and don't need more acquaintances. Honestly, we will stay at another CG in Wellton again before returning here. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead RV Park (55+ park), Wellton, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a month - lovely people, tidy park, great (mostly unused) pool and hot tub. Mini golf and pickleball is FUN! Wellton itself is quiet and not much to do - OK by us. Geronimo's restaurant is excellent, Wellton hardware is great, Dollar General is my choice over the untidy Family Dollar, USPS staff are great. We rode our bikes all over town. There is a well-used golf course but we don't golf. We camped at Arrowhead RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Oasis Palms RV Park, Thermal, California

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

So many lovely weeks spent at this gem of a park in the past; alas, it's been sold and there is pretty much zero much needed grounds maintenance. Previous managers still manage and we were overjoyed to see one another. Lots of flies, ants, tall grass. Few campers. Pool heater broken, so no hot tub either. Site pads are dirty. The many days spent at the pool with lots of happy Canadians are no more. One couple pulls together the bonfire at night, and cooks gourmet meals, but they're moving on. Unless major clean-up is done at this once favorite little jewel, we will not be back. We camped at Oasis Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy park due to the many, many pull-throughs and the ease in getting to Reno. At least ten huge and clean showers, nice office folks, laundry room in the activity room. Right on Hwy 50. The most popular sites have concrete pads and grass between. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Silent Valley Club (Members Only), Banning, California

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Maybe six of us were in "F" Loop. It was utterly beautifula and peaceful. Adult clubhouse pool is closed, spa is open. There were three pool tables; a large TV; comfortable lounging/reading area. This is a lovely park. We understand in the summer it is not a "Silent Valley." We heard much talk about money problems, which is unfortunate. We think they need to revamp their business model for the current times. As a family park, we've never seen one better. We camped at Silent Valley Club (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Delta Shores Resort and Marina, Isleton, California

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

OK place. Watch out for the entrance there is a steep drop. A little worn down; showers are old but cleaned daily. Ask for the spa to be heated; the pool is cold. Friendly staff, good meeting room and kitchen. Price shown is RPI rate. Delta Loop is beautiful, Isleton is quaint. We camped at Delta Shores Resort and Marina in a Motorhome.

The Viking RV Park, Kingsburg, California

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a funny little RV park. Lots of trains. $20 is too much at half the regular price. Only one bathroom! Great laundry with a hot dryer. There isn't a soul around to talk to, but that's OK too. We would stay here again. We camped at The Viking RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seminole Canyon State Park, Comstock, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

So spacious and hot, blue skies and clouds. The campground for full utilities is on a plateau that overlooks Texas hill country for miles. We can only imagine that the sunset and night sky will be stupendous. The Native American pictographs can be accessed by tour only. We camped at Seminole Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Casa Blanca Intl. State Park, Laredo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park very near Laredo. I was in a funk so I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have - my bad. That being said, it was 85 - 97 degrees every day, with a sheet lightning/thunder storm thrown in. Not much to do unless you have a boat, and too hot to just walk around in. I did see a big black hairy spider, a lizard and a snake. Laredo is lacking in tourist info, although their Visitor's Info Center has great people in it. Wish there was swimming. We camped at Lake Casa Blanca Intl. State Park in a Motorhome.

Falcon State Park, Falcon Heights, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

What a gem of a find at $16.00 a night. Beautiful pull-throughs, birds flying and singing everywhere, hardly a camper in sight. The trails are really well maintained, the rec hall lovely. They even have bird blinds with feeders to get a chance to see some of the many species available. Cactus were blooming, too. Bathrooms are good, showers usually had a few spideys in them, but they ran away. Would have given it a 10 except no swimming. We camped at Falcon State Park in a Motorhome.

Old Pavillion RV Park, Perry, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America rate. Oh, this wonderful place. Truly beautiful, wonderful owner, friendly people. Every night, weather permitting, everyone gathers on the big old dock and watches the sunset. It is wayyyy out there, but worth every minute. Great places to see in the area too, especially chowder at Tony's in Cedar Key. We camped at Old Pavillion RV Park in a Motorhome.
