Fishermans Cove RV & Campground, Brooklyn, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay here! Short walk to a small beach with picturesque wharf, or a longer walk or drive to Summerville Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in NS. Or short drive to White Point beach. There is a good fish and chip restaurant just 1km away, or your choice of fine dining at Summerville or White Point. Liverpool (short drive) for anything you would need. Our site was level, our friends needed to jack up their motorhome. The office had good dry wood for campfire. Excellent free WiFi. We camped at Fishermans Cove RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Check out the many museums in the area, Hank Snow in Liverpool, also the lighthouse at Fort Point Park also right in town. Cosby's nursery has incredible sculptures, nice walking paths and donations accepted. Beautiful plants, too.

Hubbards Beach Campground & Cottages, Hubbards, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park! In fact we stay here at least once every year. Staff is friendly and helpful. For us the main attraction is the beach, and since we are always a bit off season, it is quiet and uncrowded. Very restful to sit on one of the benches and read or to walk. Right on the premises is a canteen with good fish and chips as well as ice cream, plus the Shore Club, famous for its lobster suppers is also just at the entrance to the campground. There are lots of 'seasonals', and why wouldn't they want to summer here? but they are friendly and units are all well kept. Good wifi. We camped at Hubbards Beach Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Amherst is a lovely small town. There are well done murals all over. Look for Deanne Fitzpatrick's rug hooking shop! Nearby is Joggins, and Tidnish Bridge with a suspension bridge along the rails to trails. If you make the loop through Pugwash, stop at Nelly's Diner. But you might just prefer to relax and enjoy the campground. Canadian Tire and Sobeys grocery store are a 1 minute drive.

Walkabout Camp & RV Park, Woodbine, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park just off I-95. Helpful staff. Friendly. New washrooms and laundry. Some noise from I-95, but not terrible. Sites are all pull through and on grass mixed with Georgia clay so very dirty when wet. The free range chickens are friendly (but not pesky), and there is pleasant short walking trail. Good overnight stop. We camped at Walkabout Camp & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park, possibly the best we have ever stayed in, and we have been travelling for over 10 years. Very clean, level sites, excellent services, friendly staff, huge clean laundromat, and right on a beautiful beach! We came for a night and stayed three! We camped at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+), Intercourse, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Well run, pleasant park. Our front window overlooked a field where we saw the farmer tilling with a team of mules, and the quiet side road with the clip clip of the occasional horse and buggy. The side/rear windows overlooked the lovely countryside. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Ben Franklin RV Park, York, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Year round park. Good wifi. New activities building. The park is undergoing a change from being a mobile home park, our site was gravel, but sloped towards the back. There was still plenty of room for our 35' motorhome to be fairly level, but this made it a long run to the sewer which was at the very back of the site (needed 2 hoses). Close to Harley Davidson etc. for tours. The new owners are working hard to make your stay enjoyable. Park stays full, we had the choice of only 2 sites, so call ahead. We camped at Ben Franklin RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bingemans Camping Resort, Kitchener, Ontario

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as part of a rally. While OK as a campground, this cannot be called a resort. Interior roads rough. Sites were on grass, unmowed and not level or well marked. dump station, no sewer on site. Expect loud music from their event tent. wifi available at the office. We were self contained, but others we were with complained about unclean toilets complete with spiders and distant shower facilities. We would not choose to come here again. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Hadley's Point Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There is free shuttle bus service from the office. This is a nice family campground, although we do not travel with children we enjoy watching them play. We were in D section, which has campsites around the perimeter and a row in the centre. We were in the center area, site D-51. Our site was not as level as it should be, but our friends on D-50 had a level site. Although the office calls them camping in the field, in our opinion they are some of the best sites in the park. There is a large playing field in that area, and good space for children to ride bikes, play ball, and so on. 30A service and water, but no sewer. The park has a honey wagon service, but they also have a free dump station which we used. WiFi was good, but did not reach to our site, so we sat near the pool to pick it up. Very pleasant. The staff was exceptional, giving us hints on where to eat, things not to miss, etc. They keep the sites very clean, going to a site minutes after the occupants have checked out and putting the picnic table back out of the way to make it easier for the next campers to park, mowing if necessary etc. Fire rings are available if you want them. We were there at high season and park was kept full. Very convenient to visit Bar Harbor and the park by the free bus. Although there are no water view sites, we were busy enough that it didn't matter. We would return. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

White Birches Camping Resort, Shelburne, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park! Staff was friendly and helpful. Electric has been upgraded. Although there are many seasonals (they come once and decide to stay) they were friendly. Sites were adequately large, plenty of awning/slide space. Great park for families, and although we don't travel with children we watched them enjoy the pool and playground. Very nice pool. We just stayed overnight, but would stop again if we were in the area. We camped at White Birches Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres RV Park, Carmel, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic, small, RV park. Sites were large, on grass, with a background of trees. There is a pretty pond with some tenting sites and few free range chickens to add to the ambience. Roads are gravel. Park was kept very clean. Beautiful peaceful setting. There is some distant road noise, but not enough to bother us. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
