Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly with level sites and FHU. The women at check-in was friendly and courteous. All services were good, including WiFi. Got about 20 OTA channels. Our site had a lot of shade. Very clean modern restrooms and showers. Very convenient to a lot of shopping, restaurants and gas stations and right off interstate which makes for great over nighter. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Typical KOA park, sites close, fairly level with some shade.....as always they have all the normal activities of a KOA, nice store and the staff was friendly and courteous, they met us as we pulled into the lot and led us to our site, it appeared that some sites could be a little tight but we had no problems with our 36' pulling toad....we had a fhu and services were good, ATT cell signal was good and their WiFi was good, cable about 25 channels....restrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water....a lot of shopping fast food and dine in restaurants nearby....easy in out gas stations also....convenience is what your paying for, close to interstate also but noise did not bother us....great for over night stop, we would stay here again if passing through, just would want cooler weather..... We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

Sioux City North KOA, North Sioux City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Your typical KOA which means you are paying for convenience which is what we wanted. Close to interstate and plenty of fast food and gas stations easy to get in and out of. The sites are level and close most have a lot of shade. We had w/e only, FHU were all booked. No cable at our site but got 38 OTA channels, WiFi was some of the best we have ever had, services were good and ATT call signal was good. The interior roads are OK, but it can be tight but we had no problems with 36' mh with toad. Showers and restrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water. The staff was Johnny on the spot, they came out and met us as we pulled in and led us to our site, very friendly staff and very courteous. They have all the typical KOA activities. I-29 very close but noise was no problem. Great over night stop for us. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Motorhome.

Badlands Interior Motel & Campground, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly, the sites were level and close but enough room for privacy, some have shade....we choose the 50 amp site which does not have sewer hookup like the 30 amp sites, so we used the dump station on way out....service was fine, ATT cell signal was good and the WiFi was ok until the park got crowded then it would slow down like most parks do....no ota channels or WiFi here....the staff was friendly and courteous and busy with cleaning and building new playground equipment for the kids....there is also a pool....the small town of interior has everything u may need or want but u will pay a higher price like gas 3.10/gal....overall this park is convenient to the badlands and surrounding area, the view is very good also...we would stay here again if in the area...... We camped at Badlands Interior Motel & Campground in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The park is big rig friendly and all the sites are fairly level, some with shade and some in open sun. There is a lot of remodeling and construction going on building a clubhouse and new swimming pool. You can get a pass from them and use the pool at the hotel down the street for now, along with fitness room, although their interior roads are nice, their turn radius into the individual sites is not cut right in my opinion and they will always have a problem with mud from rain and dead grass in my opinion. The services worked great, our ATT cell signal was good, the WiFi in our site was nonexistent, we got 8 OTA channels, no cable. The showers are individual bathrooms very modern just like home, with plenty of hot water. The staff was excellent and friendly and they lead you to your site. They have two types of sites, standard site with no fire ring and deluxe sites with a fire ring, make sure you get the type of site you paid for. Overall the park is nice, family friendly and will be very convenient once everything is completed. We would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Trail Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Although the sites are very close the park is big rig friendly.....the sites are level and all backins that I saw and fhu, the services worked great, WiFi was decent and our ATT cell signal was good....no ota channels but they have 48 cable channels for $3 a day.....the showers and restrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water....the town and national park is conveniently close by...there are a lot of trains that go by but they are not allowed to blow their horn, city ordinance I heard, but they are far enough back that you only hear a small rumbling sound from them that didn't bother us.....you cannot have wood fires at this campground either, another city ordinance I was told....the staff was always busy doing something around the park, we may stay here again if nothing else in the area was available, I would rate them higher if the sites were not so close together.... We camped at Red Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground for a stop over for a night or two....the owners are very friendly and courteous......the campground is big rig friendly, the sites are close but they are level and the fhu services worked great....the campground couldn't be any easier to find, its right off the exit, there is some interstate noise but it didn't bother us....WiFi was decent, we got 40+ ota channels and our ATT signal was good.....didn't use shower house or restrooms.....the view was overlooking the lake and this is a quiet relaxing atmosphere.....we would stay again if passing thru the area....very clean campground and friendly owners..... This is all about convenience.....a typical KOA campground but everything is close and easy to get to, right off expressway....the staff was friendly and courteous and leads you to your spot....all sites are pull thrus, some are short and others long....all sites are level, fhu and services worked excellent, WiFi was good including our ATT cell signal, we got over 35 ota channels....big rig friendly and family friendly.....clean bath house with plenty of hot water...storage onsite if needed....even though we was only stopping for the night we would camp here again if staying in the area....I applaud the friendly staff...... General Burnside Island State Park, Burnside, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park, although the park is full of rolling hills, the campsites are fairly flat......we were in a 36 ft MH and had no problems maneuvering into our spot, but we did pull into our spot instead of backing in, but some of the sites could be a problem on a busy weekend like this past memorial day, this is a boaters paradise and parking or maneuvering could be a problem.....some sites are completely shaded and some open sun, we had some shade mostly in late afternoon...this has to be one of the quietest parks we have ever camped in, by 9 everyone was inside and quiet......restrooms and showers were very clean and plenty of hot water....water and electric worked great, the dump station was easy in and out....cell ATT service was fine, no cable and only 4 ota channels.....some of these sites like ours was shared electric, so if u are going with another couple and you get their first like us we took the 50 amp service.....we would stay here again, nice hot relaxing weekend..... We camped at General Burnside Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Sharon Johnston Park, New Market, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice county park that has a little of everything. This Park is big rig friendly, the sites are mostly level and have a lot of shade except for the newer pull thrus. The services worked great and all have full hookups. We got a lot of ota channels and our ATT cell service was very good. The restrooms and showers are older and are going to be updated but they were clean and had plenty of hot water. The host was great and very helpful. We stayed a week and wasn't long enough with all the things to see and do in Huntsville. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Sharon Johnston Park in a Motorhome.

Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large state park that has everything....our site was big but like most of the sites they are a little to a lot unlevel so bring your blocks or 2 x 12's, but don't let that keep you from this campground....services were all fine, ATT cell signal was good and they have WiFi thru Tangonet, which is free or they have plans if u need to stream....we got several ota channels....the restrooms were clean and the showers had such great water pressure that you don't need soap, the water will blast the dirt away...they sell wood at the check-in and stores or they will let you collect wood from around the park that is down and cut up...each site has a picnic table and fire ring...the park has everything you want or need, stores, pool, restaurant, snack bar, Trails hiking and biking, falls, swimming, fishing and a lot of peace and relaxation.....they park does show some age and could use some maintenance but don't let it discourage you...we will be back if in the area.....I like the idea of each camping site has their own trash can that they come around and collect, staff was friendly and there is a camping site for all types here..... We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was large and long. It was not level side to side but with a few blocks it was fine. I've seen worse. Getting in and out of some sites could be tough if the park is full. There are a lot of trees which is good but not when trying to enter or exit a site. Our services worked fine but our sewer hookup was up hill so draining was a hassle. ATT cell service was good and their WiFi was good. A lot of cable channels. This park has a lot going on and is family oriented. The check-in staff was friendly and we always saw staff getting trash or driving around the park. The restrooms and showers were clean but there is no separate changing area in the showers so you have to hang your belongings outside the shower door so they don't get wet, more of a hassle than anything. They need to add gravel to the sites because if it rains the sites could get muddy. There were a lot of gnats or mosquitoes flying around some of the sites which was annoying at times. Overall the campground was ok but with all the choices there are in this and the surrounding area, I would look for someplace else next time. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg in a Motorhome.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was level but backing into some of these sites can be a problem because of the sharp incline from the road to the site, I saw a couple of motorhomes drag their backend on the incline while backing in, this could be a problem with some longer wheel based mh, this park is for the most part big rig friendly...our services worked great and our site was long enough for the toad also....cell service ATT was good but their WIFI was ok until the park got full then it was non existent, their cable was good with lots of channels...the restrooms and showers were clean with lots of hot water, did not use laundry but it was clean and all machines appeared to be in working order....no ground fires are allowed, City ordinance, but you can use your fire pit if u have one like us.....the other main problem with this park is there is no where to hook up your toad when leaving, there is a short strip while leaving the park but you could be blocking outgoing campers and it's on a down hill slope which sometimes can be a problem....this park is close to everything including the Biltmore which is about 5 miles from the park, easy access from interstate....staff was friendly, but with all the choices to camp at in Asheville I would look somewhere else the next time, but I would return here if I had too....there can be a lot of traffic noise from the interstate that can/could be a problem for some of us... We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Newton / Des Moines East KOA, Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably one of the nicest KOAs we have stayed at. Easy access from I-80 and your hosts are very nice people. The sites are typical of a KOA close but the grounds are very nice grass cut and everything around looks very nice and taken care of. Sites are level and have some shade. The restrooms and showers are very clean and modern, the shower head is the best I've ever used at a shower in any campground. The services are excellent, WiFi very good, they have cable but we choose to do OTA channels and got 36 of them. Cell ATT very good. Sorry to say we were just over night guess leaving in the morning. We will return..... We camped at Newton / Des Moines East KOA in a Motorhome.
