Everglades Isle Motorcoach Resort (Class A only), Everglades City, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful park in rather remote location. First the positive. Large, decoratively paved, landscaped sites. Extremely clean and pretty, with gorgeous clubhouse and facilities. The airboats across the canal are quite noisy but only during the day, and we really did not find bothersome. Very nice staff. Cannot give 10 stars simply because we found grossly overpriced in spite of lovely park. The WiFi is very sketchy, and cable was terrible. There is not much to speak of in the area other than a few small "restaurants" and a mini-mart style grocery store, although certainly good location to explore nature in the Everglades. Would like to return but cannot justify cost. Majority of park sites were open during our entire stay. We camped at Everglades Isle Motorcoach Resort (Class A only) in a Motorhome.

Live Oak Landing, Freeport, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park. A bit remote. Level, long sites. Very nice accommodating staff. Surprised to find only one small bathhouse for entire campground, and pool is pretty and screened but very small. Extremely clean, quiet. Cable is not very good and antenna is equally very limited. Couldn't use satellite due to trees. WiFi was good. Would love to return but kind of hard to justify price for location and amenities (and we have stayed at other parks owned by same conpany several times). We camped at Live Oak Landing in a Motorhome.

Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Large sites. Immaculate park. Great view of Mobile Bay and city in distance. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Park is treating for a chronic ant problem, and we follow their advice and do our own measures. Second time we have been here and no issues whatsoever. Love coming here and will be back. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Colonia del Rey RV Park, Corpus Christi, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one week to explore Corpus Christi and Padre Island. Great location with easy access to both. Our site was very level concrete pad. Everyone is very nice and the park is clean and felt very safe. Biggest issue that prevented higher rating is that sites are extremely tight, just a bit too much "togetherness" going on. (And we had premium pull-through site). Shame because otherwise we would absolutely stay there again. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Motorhome.

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This review is a bit more detailed. Lovely, clean park. Many seasonal, beautiful sites with some of the nicest people who are very welcoming. Unfortunately have to address issue with reservations. We have stayed here for short visits several times so decided on a 1 month stay. This was prompted from an email we received from Sun resorts promoting such stay and including Travelers World. We immediately called (August?) and were told without hesitation that there was "nothing available" for November. We offered flexible dates, were willing to take a back in site, and even stated we would switch sites during the month. The online reservation system displayed several available sites but the woman we spoke to again stated "doesn't matter what it says online". In October we decided to call and just reserve one week in November which we were able to do easily. Imagine our disappointment when for our entire week there were multiple (20+) sites that were open, and other guests stated several sites had been open throughout the month. Unfortunately we could have filled one of those spots. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Marco Naples RV Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very tightly packed together park that is combo of RVs, park homes, and some converted campers made into permanent dwellings. Far from a "resort" but we are pretty laid back so that isn't typically a big consideration. Would blame the hurricane a few months ago but that really wasn't the issue. Fairly recently purchased by Sun and it is obvious they are working hard to improve. First the good- it is clean and felt very safe. Conveniently located for all things Naples or Marco Island. The staff is helpful and personable. Unfortunately the downside is that we were squeezed into a site (between 2 permanent structures) that was definitely not made for a 40' MH (reservations made many months ago). The ground was so beat up and uneven that it was difficult to put out chairs and the very small concrete "pad" was actually at the back of the motorhome. Getting to the site required a resident to move their lawn decorations because the road is so tight that there is no way to make the turn (we were told that this is a well-known problem). In fact pretty close to tightest road we've ever seen in an RV park. If improvements made would consider but otherwise not likely to return. We camped at Marco Naples RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gulf Coast RV Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here to visit Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Was a bit nervous after reading prior reviews but guessing maybe something changed because certainly not as described. Not a resort ($17/night - really?) but extremely quiet, clean, and wonderful staff. Wooded but site was more than adequate for our 40' MH. There were some older units (as well as many new) and some obvious seasonal - all very well-kept. Certainly did not see lots of mold and mildew. Relaxed, comfortable, and felt safe in this rustic campground, so much so that we stayed extra day. Will return when in area again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Motorhome.

Capri Court Campground, Houma, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 1 night through PA. A little odd because have to drive through a residential MH park to get to campground. Some run-down units in both places but next to newer ones. However very clean and staff employee who guided us in was very nice and attentive. The campground is small rustic area next to canal and under moss covered oaks. That said, we liked it. Quiet, clean, level and felt very safe. Certainly not a resort by any stretch but would have no problem staying again. We camped at Capri Court Campground in a Motorhome.

KOC Kampground, New Iberia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Clean park with large sites. Gravel and mostly level with concrete patio. Very nice helpful staff. Not a resort but safe convenient location to visit area. Only problem is so close to Hwy 90 (and our site was right near entrance) there was extremely loud traffic noise. Campground can't help that but can't be ignored. If in area would likely stay here again. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

Spring River RV Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Overall Rating:

Great little park to visit Roswell. The owner is wonderful and goes out of her way to be helpful. Was actually almost full but found us a spot to squeeze in our 40' MH that worked just fine. Not a resort but level gravel sites. Very quiet and immaculate. If come through again would absolutely stay here. We camped at Spring River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

Would have liked to give more stars as this is a pretty park with friendly staff. But very tight sites that mean you are very close to your neighbors. That said, our (obviously long term) neighbor had children who yelled and pounded walls of their rig like it was an indoor wrestling ring for hours in the evening, a dog (tied to the side of the rig facing us) who dug up so much dirt we had to take up our rug and was tied at various times (11:30pm) and barked. We are truly not complainers but got old after a few days. Said something to the evening security person who was nice but nothing done or said. Weirdly there were multiple wide open unoccupied spaces for our entire stay (5 to 6 sites in a row) so had no idea why we were placed about 6 feet from another rig. Would like to stay there again but considering rate after this experience probably not. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Treasure Island RV Park, South San Francisco, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here to visit San Francisco. This is absolutely not a resort but rather an RV park with mostly full time and seasonal rv's - all very well-cared for. Very clean and quiet at night. Several reviews have commented about the man in charge in office. Although he seems rather brusque, he was in no way rude and our check-in was efficient and easy. He also answered all our questions. A worker guided us to our site and stayed to ensure all was good. Site was large, concrete, and so level that I did not need to use levelers. We camped at Treasure Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Napa Valley Expo RV Park, Napa, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here to enjoy Napa and tour the wineries. Excellent location convenient to everything. Clean, huge, level sites. Rather open and no specific amenities (pool, store, etc) but wasn't staying there for that. Wonderful, helpful camphosts. We were unfortunately there during the fires however the camphosts kept all aware of everything so we were certain to be safe. Additionally they provided accommodations for evacuees and first responders. Wonderful place and absolutely hope to return there. We camped at Napa Valley Expo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent park. Located on casino property but park stands alone. Clean, large level paved sites. FHU and cable. Wi-fi pretty good. Directly off I-80. Some traffic and train noise but certainly not bothersome. Excellent service from staff. Casino nice with good food at restaurants. Would absolutely stay here again. Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights. Could only give above rating because campground itself overpriced (PA price is only applicable one night but helped). Sites are very close together (can't possibly make campfire without burning down something and sewer hose of neighbor right next to our motorhome). Although it is very clean the campground is a bit rundown. That said, it's a shame because the ranch itself is delightful, the staff is wonderful, and the restaurant/bar on site has excellent bison burgers and steaks. There are ranch tours and horseback riding, and a unique playground/rides for kids that is active in summer. With a little work I think the campground could be "spruced up", not "resort" just a little less sad. Would definitely consider returning. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.
