Briarcliffe RV Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were excited to stay here and expected a luxury park by the photos. We did get a Passport USA discount which was nice but the photos on their website showed sand dunes and made it sound like it was minutes to the beach. This is why we selected it.

Well yes maybe the way the crow flies but don't try walking unless you have an hour and are ok crossing eight lanes of highway traffic. We only had bikes and it was quite a chore. Plus it took 30+ minutes by bike carrying beach chairs etc. etc. Parking also may be difficult at busy times as the area is pretty built up.

We were very disappointed and felt they were providing false advertising but they did not agree in their curt letter to us. I did just notice that they have since taken the dunes photo down but they still say minutes to the beach. It looks that way on the map but not so in person.

Pool is nice on the inland waterway. Families may enjoy adjacent commercial area and restaurants. And their Pickleball is just setting up a checked out net on their marginal basketball court with no fencing. We camped at Briarcliffe RV Resort in a Motorhome.

If you want a quiet relaxing spot perhaps a state park would be better.

River's End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. Very shaded and dog friendly. Two dog parks adjacent tot he park. Close bike to the beach/resturants despite the park feeling remote. Run by the town and they do a good job. Nice pool area. A little expensive but worth it due to the location.

Initially they had lost our reservation and person who confirmed was no longer there/new software. They got us into a site we liked better than original one after a little bit. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We do not have a tow vehicle and there is not an option to select this.....

The Shriners and American Legion invite campers to their dinners.

Go if you can!! What a kick and we met people in their 90s who grew up on the island. Had lots of fun at the yummy Shriners meal.

Breakfast - have to try the Breakfast Club downtown. It is a classic.
