Lake Osprey RV Resort, Elberta, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful lake and grounds. Free laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers and they have a signup sheet to reserve 2-hr time slots to use them--works great! Lots of activities. Everyone is SO FRIENDLY and helpful--makes you feel like family. BEST WiFi I have ever had at an RV Park. Very accommodating on reservations. They have DirecTV access instead of just cable.

We were VERY disappointed that the golf course next door doesn't give good rates for Park Residents but see comments under attractions.

Glen Lakes Golf Course has 27-holes and worked with us nicely for a good rate to play golf and isn't far away. Also park office has coupon for range balls there. If you are retired/active military, you can also golf the 27-hole course at Pensacola NAS just 20+ miles away for reasonable price.

MUST visit the Pensacola Naval Air Station Air Museum. Fantastic and you do not have to be military to enter base to see the museum. Just register at the gate. Can also visit the Pensacola Lighthouse on base. We camped at Lake Osprey RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Visit Orange Beach--Bubba's Seafood House-ask for Kim-AWESOME food/exc.svc. FANTASTIC Mahi-Mahi Trop.Dish at Shipp's Harbor Rest. Got free Drunk Brownie (which was to die for) for bday. Get fresh seafood from Foley Market on Sat/Tue. The Foley Chamber of Commerce--lots of info/very friendly/helpful.

Des Moines West KOA, Adel, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Under new ownership. Park is best KOA we have stayed at. Pretty landscaping and friendly, helpful staff. Labor Day Weekend they had free wine tastings each night from several different local wineries--how fun! Best store for souvenirs we have seen--not tacky but nice gifts to be found especially if you love bears! Highly recommend it! We camped at Des Moines West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

McGreer Camper Park, Big Springs, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Good use of farmland--working farm attached. Nice, friendly owners. Nothing special as far as views or landscaping but easy on, easy off Interstate and great for a one-night stay driving through from Denver as we did. Fee we paid was the Passport America membership cost including the $1 fee for 50 amp electricity hookup as it was very hot when we stopped there. We camped at McGreer Camper Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Larkspur, Larkspur, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before because it is close to our friends' home. However, we think they raised their prices too high since it is right next to the railroad tracks and trains go through all day and night. Since they are so high we just stayed one night and then moved to the State Park in the Denver area. Nice staff and very helpful. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Larkspur in a Fifth Wheel.

Earp & James Hitching Post (formerly Lottie-Dell Campground), Snowville, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The view is awesome!!! Not fancy place with beautiful landscaping but clean and easy on, easy off Interstate. Owner works hard on the property. Even has a free golf driving range--the only cost to you is getting your exercise when you retrieve the balls you hit onto the range! Great spot to stop for a night. We camped at Earp & James Hitching Post (formerly Lottie-Dell Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothell, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful owners. Very helpful and pleasant. Most beautiful RV park we have stayed in 11 years of camping. Believe every campsite has a view of the lakes--yes that is plural. Easy in, easy out. Also cheapest laundry facilities we have ever seen. Greatest park for us was the $2/day storage parking with electricity while we went on a 14-day cruise to Alaska. AWESOME!!! We camped at Lake Pleasant RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

West Lake Park, Summit Campground, Davenport, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and love it here. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only thing we don't like is they don't take reservations but if you get there before Friday afternoon, you probably won't have a problem. It is a beautiful park with lots to experience and enjoy and several different camping areas. They went up on their price from last year but still very reasonable. Very busy on weekends with lots of families getting together for cookouts. Nicely kept and peaceful. We camped at West Lake Park, Summit Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
