Western Village RV Park, Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great little find for our one night stopover. The site was perfectly level (we stayed in 34-54 pull through), and it seems we visited on a perfect night. There was a great mix of families and couples of all ages. Karaoke was going on in the park further back, and that was fun to listen to as our family played mini golf on a very fun and challenging little course with lots of fun obstacles that were run by motors. My kids are disappointed that it was just a one night stop. They had hand dipped ice cream in their store, along with lots of other well-stocked items. By the way, it's nestled in at the back of a cute little neighborhood. Hoping to be back some day! We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We only stopped here for the night, but it was 1/3 of the cost of the one down the street. Very nice people, and our spot was level. Clean bathrooms, and there was music on the back porch in the evening. Would absolutely stay again. We got an Uber into Nashville and back with ease. Very full park, but wifi was great, and that makes everyone in our family happy! We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ouray RV Park & Cabins, Ouray, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite parks ever. Friendly and super helpful owners and staff, and the greatest location. We chose a premium site which is right by the Uncompahgre River, and you can hear the rushing waters this time of year the moment you open your door. Great wifi, clean facilities, and within walking distance to town. We walked along the river several times a day as we made our way to the cute little town of Ouray. No bugs, AMAZING scenery, full hookups, close to town (about a 12 minute walk). Sites are gravel and fairly level. I can't say enough good things about this place, and we look forward to returning! We camped at Ouray RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Hot Springs, which is an 8-10 minute walk along the river. And if you like craft beer, you must try Ourayle Brewery and visit Mr. Grumpy Pants. Yelp for more details. Bring cash an prepare to have wonderful beer while meeting the brewmaster, bartender, and proprietor all in one person. Also, on Thursdays in June, there are free concerts in the park. This has been added to our list of favorite places to visit!

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We only had a quick night's stop here, but what a beautiful park. Clean doesn't come close to describing this place. And although we arrived at dusk, we could see that the resort offers many wonderful amenities! Level, concrete spaces. I only gave it a 9 since good wifi is important to us, and we didn't get great signals, but perhaps that was the location we were in. I wish we'd had more time, but we're on a long family road trip. Glad we found this gem and definitely plan to return! We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Quebec City KOA, Saint Nicolas, Quebec

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

I can't say enough good things about this place. If I ever visit Quebec City again, I will absolutely stay in this park. From the super friendly staff members to the security and cleanliness of the park, there were no disappointments. We camped there with our two kids, 10 and 16, and we were only a 20 minute drive into Old Quebec City, and only 5 minutes from other restaurants and shops. I used the laundry facilities, and they were reasonably priced and very clean. The Internet was super fast, and that is probably attributed to the fact that you can't stream shows on YouTube and Netflix. However, I love that concept. It keeps the Internet running smoothly for everyone. I can't say that I ever really enjoy showering in campgrounds, but I can say that for this place. They had nice music playing in all of the bathrooms, store, and laundry areas, and I truly felt like I was on vacation the whole time I was there, even while doing laundry. It's not like a state park with tons of scenery, but that didn't matter to us in the least. And oh! They had an awesome park (very clean) with a jumping pillow, and they didn't mind our entire family (adults included) making memories with our kids all jumping at the same time. I can't say enough about the friendly staff. They spoke fluent English (shame on us for not knowing more French), and one night one of the ladies even ordered our Thai take out for us. We had a perfect experience here, and if I could double the stars, I would! We camped at Quebec City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You must try poutine at Chez Ashton and Thai food from Thaizone (they will deliver right to your campsite if requested), and while in Quebec City, make sure you have maple taffy pops and crepes! And get poutine again every chance you get! And smell the Canadian money! It truly smells like maple syrup!!

North Beach Campground, Burlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very family friendly campground. The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars is that the showers did not have any hot water. It was a chilly night, so my husband was quite surprised when he jumped in to a frosty shower. He described it as a half degree above sleet. ???? Otherwise, this is really a nice place to camp, and I would definitely visit there again. I'd just plan to shower inside my camper if I were you. We didn't have a chance to stay long, but the campground is right near Lake Champlain and has a nice beach and bike trails. The Wi-Fi was average, but we were just happy to have it. Our site was on grass, and we had to level our camper, but that's something we have to do at most places, so it wasn't a problem. Would love to visit this place again, as it seems the town is very nice. We had pizza delivered to the front gate, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at North Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Chutes Provincial Park, Massey, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night as a stopover. The park is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of trees and a beautiful waterfall and many other opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately for us, it rained, so we were unable to do more than take a quick walk to see the falls. Be warned. With rain came mosquitos, many of them. But that's to be expected where there are tons of trees and it's just been raining. That can't be helped. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they have someone patrolling at night. Hope we can visit again when we can beat the rain! We camped at Chutes Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We only spent one night here as a stopover, but this was a really nice KOA. My son used the showers and said they were very nice with plenty of hot water. We loved the cute signs they had leading up to the park. It's not exactly right off the interstate, but if you're looking to get away from the highway noise and enjoy being in a more remote area, this place will be great for you. And it's truly not THAT far, haha! We just didn't realize it would be quite that far off the interstate. The Wi-Fi worked just fine, and everything was easy as far as after hours check-in and early morning check out was concerned. I would stay here again, but hopefully for a longer stay next time. We camped at Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA in a Motorhome.

City of Houghton RV Park, Houghton, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sadly, we only had the opportunity to stay here for 2 nights. Not only is this area an incredibly wonderful place to visit, the RV park here was impeccably clean, well maintained, offered all amenities besides showers (you'll need to be self-contained if you want to be clean! Haha!), and the greatest hosts ever. They were super helpful in offering places to visit, and in addition to that, we were able to spend a little time visiting with them and getting to know their stories. Within 2 minutes of pulling up to our spot, both of our kids (16 and 10) said "We're only staying two nights here????" Trust me, had our trip allowed a longer stay, we'd be staying. The playground with the huge slides and sand play area was quite entertaining (for us big kids too!), and there are restaurants and shops within a very short distance. We can't wait to return here. 2000 characters is never enough to explain in detail how much we enjoyed this beautiful park. We camped at City of Houghton RV Park in a Motorhome.
