Bear River RV Park, Stewart, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the worse park experiences we had, during our 3 months on the road. Our site was decent, level, etc. All sites appeared to be buddy sites close together, utilities were very low and TV cable strung on the ground. As previously mentioned, their advertised internet was terrible and I was close to the office. I couldn't get on line as others have reported, and the rude lady in the office kept saying it was my computer.

The lady in the office was very blunt when asking her any question. There is a new looking building next to the office and the people staying in it had dogs that barked frequently and even ran loose a couple of times. Not sure if that was the owner or whom.

They did have a good RV wash, otherwise my rating would have been worse. We camped at Bear River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nenana RV Park & Campground, Nenana, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

When I called and told them I had a 40 ft. motorhome and had read that this park was not good for a large motorhome. She said they could take care of me. When I arrived she gave me a choice of trying to get into one of their sites or circle the park and park on the opposite side of the hookups on the end site headed in the opposite direction in order to have my hookups on the proper side. I chose the latter. Everything was very clean.

Generally, this park has a difficult time handling a big rig, although after we got set up, we had a great site having a large grass area on our entry side. Their sites are pull thru and there are trees between sites and a large RV would have a difficult time fitting in unless the trees are side trimmed. I would not have taken my coach into one. The other down side is that their advertised internet does not work. It is evident that the same thing existed on previous years responses. We camped at Nenana RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Mat Su Rv Park, Willow, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We had a backin 50 Amp service. Park is very clean. Owner is working constantly and walks around picking anything up that is out of place. It is basically a gravel lot, but some of the backins have a grassy area. We will stop there anytime we are in the Talkeetna area. We camped at Mat Su Rv Park in a Motorhome.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were passing through Billings on our way to Alaska when my wife developed a medical issue. It appeared that she was going to need surgery. I went to the KOA in need of at least one week and possibly two, and they were mostly full with Memorial Day weekend approaching. The folks in the office could not have been any nicer and they went to work to try to take care of me. After moving several reservations around, they were able to do so, even over Memorial Day weekend. This park is very nice, very clean, our pull through site is plenty big, and every site has a two person swing, fire pit, and table. We will be stopping her again when we are coming into the area.

Our posted rate is based on weekly rate divided by seven. We camped at Billings KOA in a Motorhome.

Five Flags RV Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campground's owner is one of the nicest we have ever met. He put us in a large pull-through and began hooking up our facilities as soon as I stepped out. Our site had a large concrete pad, Wi-Fi was excellent and he pointed to a water faucet and hose on the edge of the site and said we could use it to wash our motorhome or tow vehicle if we wished. As I looked around, it appeared that most of the sites also had an extra water hookup.

Anytime we are in the area, this will be our first choice to stay. We camped at Five Flags RV Park in a Motorhome.

Little Beaver State Park, Beaver, West Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of the biggest sites in the park, but it was not very level. Reason being that most of the sites are small and getting level would be a problem with a large motorhome. The park itself is very nice and well kept. The highway coming into the park resulted in a few miles of dodging overhanging tree limbs, some of which I couldn't miss. Also, the access road coming in from I-64 is very steep and curvy, so be very careful, but it is doable. We camped at Little Beaver State Park in a Motorhome.

Scenic Hills RV Park, Millersburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed there a week to visit Amish Country and to play golf. Our site was gravel and we had a lot of room on both sides, camping with friends on the side and across from us. There was an area of the park to pick up free firewood, although it was in August and not needed. Park is in the center of the Amish attractions and restaurants.

They accepted cash or check only, no credit cards, but that wasn't a problem because we knew in advance. We plan to go back in the spring to pick up some furniture we are having manufactured and will stay here again. We camped at Scenic Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Anchors Aweigh RV Resort, Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. We had a large pull-through on the end of a row. The site had a large concrete surface for parking and patio combined. It wasn't very full in August. The sites are grass and all have concrete pads. Able to wash my motorhome for a small fee, well worth it. Staff was very friendly. Park is very close to outlet mall, great restaurants (including Lamberts), and grocery stores.

Will stay there next time we are in the area. We camped at Anchors Aweigh RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wolfie's Campground, Zanesville, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The long road leading up the hill has several places that two motorhomes can't pass. If I had met someone and they were towing a vehicle, one of us would have had to disconnect and back up.

When we called for reservations that morning, neither we or our friends traveling with us were told anything about check-in time. We arrived shortly after noon and the owner was irritated after I told her I was concerned about the narrow road leading up the hill to the park. She informed me that check-in time was 2 PM and charged us both an additional fee for early check-in. She also told me that I was causing her to be late for lunch. Very rude person! I didn't realize that she was charging me an additional fee until my friend checked-in and told me about it. I checked my receipt and found I had been charged. If she had told me that, I would have left right then.

There are signs all over the park about park rules. They didn't seem to apply to everyone. Once in the site, the site, it was OK. I believe we had the two best sites in the park as several did not appear to be very level and some were very short. The next morning neither of us connected our tow vehicles until we got down the winding hill for fear we might meet someone else that didn't know their rules and we couldn't pass.

If you have a big rig, I don't recommend using this park! We camped at Wolfie's Campground in a Motorhome.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The day before we arrived, I had my motorhome and tow vehicle washed. It was a hot sunny day when we arrived and the man that led us to our site left us in a cloud of dust. By the time we got to our site, the motorhome and tow vehicle were coated with thick dust. It rained the first night and the dust coating became a swirl of dirt. Every time a vehicle or their golf cart went by our site, we would eat dust. It's a shame because the park has great hookups, good Internet, etc. But until they do something about their interior roads, we won't be back. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Centennial RV Park and Campground, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We use this campground whenever we're in the area. The only negative is that there is no dog walking area. They request that you walk your dog around the perimeter that use to have grass, but is now gravel. Campground is convenient to all of the sights in that area or Colorado. We camped at Centennial RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
