Kewaunee RV & Campground, LLC, Kewaunee, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park in a small town along Lake Michigan. Quiet area with grocery stores close by. Level sites long enough for our 43' motorhome with a little room left to park the car. Convenient to Green Bay and Door County areas. Free firewood provided to campers. Looks like wiring for cable TV has been pulled out. Convenient to Green Bay & Door County points of interest. We camped at Kewaunee RV & Campground, LLC in a Motorhome.

Irvington Campground and RV Park, Menomonie, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with helpful staff. We stayed one night. Our GPS took us to the wrong location and once we arrived we found there was a much shorter route off of I-94 through Menonomie to the campground. CALL Campground for directions! 50 Amp electric, water and sewer all good. Verizon signal sketchy. We camped at Irvington Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Eggerts Landing COE, Valley City, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Heavily wooded campground very close to the lake. 30 amp but no water and no sewer. Good road surface within the park. Plenty of privacy between sites and very quiet. Unable to get satellite signal with the trees and Verizon was hit-or-miss. Campground host met us at the entrance and was very helpful. We camped at Eggerts Landing COE in a Motorhome.

Red Trail Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

When registering the employee wouldn't stop eating which I felt was rude and unprofessional. She asked how I found out about them and when I replied 'RV Park Reviews' she said "people only use that to complain" and the site was worthless! When initially making the reservation 6 weeks prior I specified I needed a level site for 43' Class A. I was put in the back at the base of a hill in the back which was basically a gravel lot. Tried to level but site was so bad both front & the right rear wheels were off the ground. Made 2 trips to office to try to get moved and was told no, others had no problem so I needed to learn how to level my coach. At the time the park appeared only half full. Another employee met me at the site and after looking at it agreed to move me from full hook-ups to W&E only, the only thing available. Office initially refused to refund the difference saying the price was the same, even though their web site indicates otherwise, and they don't give refunds. The employee who helped me move later brought the refund to me. On the campground 'rules' page a lot of words unnecessarily capitalized, which should have been a clue. Some issues with low hanging tree branches. We will never stay here again nor recommend to anyone. Overall not a bad park but prior reviews also indicate problems with the owners. We camped at Red Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Ennis RV Village, Ennis, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with the prior review. Staff was very pleasant. Interior roads were easy to navigate in our 43' motorhome. Site was long enough for big rig and tow vehicle plus some. Utilities are well placed and actually had two sewer connections on each site to minimize having to use extensions. Wifi was good. No cable, but we had no trouble using our roof mounted satellite dish. Campground is well landscaped and has spectacular mountain views. A work camper told us the owner did his research and interviewed RVers extensively before he built the park, and he obviously got it right. We definitely would stay again. We camped at Ennis RV Village in a Motorhome.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park which is close to the Little Bighorn National Monument. The park is well off the highway and sits on a slight hill but sites are spacious, long and pretty level. The park staff are extremely friendly and responsive. Park is well taken care of and the interior roads are easy for big rigs to maneuver. Electric is reliable and water pressure sufficient. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in a 43' motorhome. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Valley View RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This 'no frills' park located on Highway 20 provides the basics and a short 14-mile drive to the west entrance to Yellowstone. The daily $60/night is overpriced for what they offer, and they do not accept Passport America rate through July. We stayed here in August at a reasonable monthly rate. The RV sites are pull-through gravel/dirt sites with grass in-between with sufficient space between sites and each site has a picnic table. Cedar trees but no shade trees. The utility connections are conveniently located. The sites on the south side of the main gravel drive all appear to be level, but the sites on the north side in the back row are not, but could easily be leveled with the addition of a little gravel on the front end. The park staff members in the office are friendly and helpful, but we did witness two very heated altercations between outside staff members and different guests on two separate occasions. The park itself needs a lot of low-cost aesthetic improvements which we were told by staff members the elderly owners are choosing not to make. The areas behind the main building, miscellaneous landscaping equipment, a couple of junky looking road graders and a few dilapidated small buildings which are not used are all in the open. The 50-amp electric was reliable. This park is in a valley situated between 2 mountains and the wind is very gusty at times. There is a large 'Rec Room' which is nice but the main doors at the front of the building were always locked. A staff member told us this room gets very little use because it is not very visible nor advertised to RVers upon arrival. The 'Exercise Equipment' advertised on the park's web page was never set up per a staff member. All in all, not a bad park but there are several other RV Park options between here and the West Yellowstone Park entrance. With a little TLC this could be a great park. We camped at Valley View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Custer's Gulch RV Park, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park very close to downtown Custer. There is a gravel road to get into the park and it is well maintained. This park is on a slight hill but designed as such that the gravel RV sites are all very level and easy to get into. Plenty of room for our 43' coach and tow vehicle with room to spare. Office staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with information on local attractions. Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments within easy driving distance. 1/4 mile from Custer State Park. We were here 6 days and never ran out of interesting places to see. We will definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Custer's Gulch RV Park in a Motorhome.

San Antonio / Alamo KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here probably a dozen times in the past. Very close to the AT&T Center and downtown attractions. RV park is right on the city bus line to downtown. Park is well maintained and over the years we have found the owner is continuously putting money back into the park in the form of new structures, evening activities, playground equipment, pool, etc. Staff are always friendly. We full-time and will probably one day make this our home base. Sites are level with reliable power supply and has cable. Campground is easy to get to off of I-35. Good roads throughout the campground and is gated at night providing security. We camped at San Antonio / Alamo KOA in a Motorhome.

Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful and well maintained COE park. Only regret was that it was 25 miles from downtown Santa Fe and other points of interest, but very close to Tent Rock National Park which is amazing. We had a beautiful view of the lake. Very quiet area. We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Motorhome.

AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice family run park. We stayed in the back section. WIFI was much better than the average campground and cable TV is available. Reasonably level sites with some trees. During the reservation process owners will try to accommodate rigs with roof top mounted satellite dishes. BBQ restaurant on site with really good food and fair prices. Close to grocery and downtown area. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chief Hosa Lodge & Campground, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is listed as "Big Rig access" which we found is NOT TRUE if you are over 32' long. We had trouble making a turn to get out and rubbed a tree after sliding on loose gravel. Park is heavily wooded with sufficient space between sites, both nice features, but we only saw 2 or 3 truly level sites. The remainder were badly sloped requiring blocks or planks. Our front tires were on 4 layers of blocks and barely touching once we put our jacks down and we still were not level. Some loose gravel and a lot of dusty dirt until it rained, then everything was dirty. The lady in the office was nice to deal with and very helpful. The gentleman there not so much. First time in 7 years of RVing we had to pay ($23) to dump in addition to the nightly fee. Showers are coin operated. Will never return. We camped at Chief Hosa Lodge & Campground in a Motorhome.

Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park close to town. We stayed in the row alongside of the airport runway which is normally quiet weekdays but has a fair amount of small aircraft traffic on weekends during daylight hours which is fun to watch. The sites in this area are level with reliable power supply and cable TV. Office staff were friendly. We have stayed here in the past and will return to this park whenever in this area. Lufkin KOA, Lufkin, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. Sites are level concrete with asphalt aprons. Roads within the park are good. This park unquestionably has the cleanest restrooms and showers we have ever seen. Electric service and water pressure is good. 74 cable TV channels. The negatives are that the areas between many of the sites are on a slant so grilling and eating on the picnic table are a challenge. The grass around the sites had not been mowed anytime recently making it hard to see the fire ant mounds and the chiggers we biting everything in sight. This park would easily be a '9' if the owners would put reasonable effort into ground maintenance and insect control. We camped at Lufkin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The owners of this park have tried to re-define the meaning to the term “Resort” but this park is anything but. As soon as we had checked in and were led onto the property we felt that this was one of the less nicer places we have ever stayed at. It is a concrete jungle with no trees or shrubbery to speak of, and they pack the RVs in like they were sardines. The far majority of the rigs were either travel trailers or 5th wheels with less than a handful of Class A's. When we were led to our sight, the staff member guiding us never got out of his golf cart until the back of our rig came into contact with a truck parked along the drive. Although I accept responsibility for having ultimate control, I thought it was the staff members’ job to get us into the site safely, a bad assumption on my part! I guess the staffer's only job was to help me read the big bold numbers for the sites so I parked in the right one. All he could say was that it could have been a lot worse, and his coworker who arrived a few minutes later was heard to say that maybe I needed a smaller RV. This is a place where the majority of campers park and flock here on weekends leaving their rig unattended during the week. Obviously some of the residents are permanent, contrary to the web site, which seems lacking. The beach is a very long walk, difficult if you have small kids and are toting typical beach stuff. If you love ants, this is the place for you. On the plus side, the pools and the laundry areas are very clean and the bags of ice reasonably priced. The office staff was very professional but not friendly, making me realize their focus is solely on the $$ and not on customer satisfaction. We left a day early. We will not return here. We camped at Pioneer Beach Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
