Valley View RV Park, Ely, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I wouldn't make it a destination, but it's nice enough for overnight. Out back is for long term and a bit sketch. Tight together. Could win prize for tightest we've ever seen, but OK. Laundry was OK, but old. Staying overnight? Great spot. Long term tourist? Maybe not. Canadians are going south so make a reservation. It was full on the weekend. We camped at Valley View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Only game in town, but a nice enough stop. We just overnighted. A few pull through for overnight and backin with a grassy patch. Right on the highway, but it quiets down at night. We camped at Antelope Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crested Butte RV Resort, Crested Butte, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is end of year. Sixty five all summer. A bit high, but what a great place. All gravel, but level. No laundry and a shower in a tent type barn. No sewer, which is tough if you want to stay a while. They offer a pump service from town that comes out for a fee. BUT... what a view and what a setting. It's a 12 on any scale. Right on a creek with picnic pavilion and fireplace sitting with a view that cannot be beat. I WILL stay here again. We camped at Crested Butte RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Grassy sites with full sun and some with shade. Nice grass that they keep green and watered. Laundry was good. We have stayed in a few others over the years and so far this is the best in the area. Satellite is available, but not in all sites - so make sure you ask. We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Motorhome.

What an oasis in the middle of a city. Great spot. Make reservations even this time of year. We had to leave on Friday because it was booked solid. Fantastic campground with full service hookups. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Steamboat Springs KOA, Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Best in town because it's the only in town. We have stayed here over the years and it's kind of going downhill. Still a nice enough spot. Very tight gravel spots with grass between. A la KOA (it used to be a KOA). Laundry was a mess. Hunters and workers washing greasy and muddy clothes. Had to wash the washer to use it. We camped at Steamboat Springs KOA in a Motorhome.

Sleeping Bear RV Park & Campground, Lander, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice spot on top of the hill over town. They offer a few sights with a grand view to the west for extra $. We were just overnight so we stayed in the middle. Gravel and some grass between sites. Pretty close together, but no worse than most. Restaurants within walking distance. Pretty nice town that we need to come back and explore. We camped at Sleeping Bear RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A step back in time but what a nice place. Great people. Clean laundry. All dirt and grass but level. Right on the river but RVs are off the bank by 100 yards. Tents next to the water. Would love to go back. We camped at Lazy Acres Campground & Motel in a Motorhome.

It gets a ten because of the neat and clean sites. Great excersice room. Almost too sterile but a great view. Definitely the best in town. 10%off for KOA because they own the KOA next door. We camped at Polson Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $44.00

Not as nice as the high dollar park but a VERY comfortable park. Like stepping back 30 years or more. All dirt sites in the trees so bring DVDs. Great people. We camped at San-Suz-Ed RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carriage House Inn & RV Park, Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

It's an OK spot for overnight but not a "nice" spot. Safeway right across the street if you need supplies. Not an easy spot for satellite, but some sites might work. Ours didn't have clearance through the trees. We camped at Carriage House Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.
