Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 24. Site is located in section beside farmer's field & tree lines, farthest from I 70. Convenient to I 70 but traffic noise. Gravel site with nice grass patch & two well trimmed shade trees. Required board to level. Plenty of room for truck. Close to neighbor on utility side; some sites are buddy style. Full hook-up. Good WiFi, AT&T cell coverage, over the air TV. Shower house is not as clean as most at KOAs; laundry house is okay. Both facilities could use web removal attention. Dusty lanes. Pool closed for season. Pleasant staff. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

South Bend / Elkhart North KOA, Granger, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 23. Full hook ups. Wide, pretty level, sand site with sparse grass patch. Lots of shade from well trimmed trees. Pine needle debris. Room for truck. Site is an end spot with a nice copse on utility side that creates privacy. Clean shower & laundry houses. Good WiFi, At&T cell coverage. Staff blow & rake leaves to keep campground tidy. Small book exchange. Pool, larger than most at KOAs, closed for season. Ping pong, volley & basket ball courts, tether ball, horseshoes, trikes, miniature golf, old exercise equipment. Quiet at night except for occasional nearby train traffic & whistle blowing. Light snacks prepared in office & all day coffee. Walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, banks. Very friendly staff. We camped at South Bend / Elkhart North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Shamrock Park, Berrien Springs, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on back in site 121, an end spot with a nice size grass patch (in newest section of park). Full hook ups. Wide, level, gravel site. No shade, although, small trees have been planted on sites. Plenty of room for truck. Some sites in old section are buddy type (facing awning to awning). Clean shower houses. No laundry, but there is one about two miles away in town. Good WiFi, AT&T cell coverage, & over the air antenna TV (about 15 stations). Volley & basketball courts, ping pong table. Book exchange. Small children's playground. Located on St. Joseph River with wide boat launch access. Quiet at night. Construction underway to expand park. We camped at Shamrock Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Creek Luxury RV Resort, Mears, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 21, which is wide & long concrete with full hook ups. Easy access; required one board to level. Large grass patch with nice size shade tree, well trimmed. Plenty of room for truck. Paved interior lanes. Very spacious, clean shower & laundry houses. Good WiFi, cable TV, AT&T cell coverage. Did not use pool, but looks very well maintained & is larger than most RV park pools with lots of lounges, Jacuzzi & child pool. Large children's play ground. Small book exchange. Billiard table, basket ball court, & corn hole equipment. Large level park, short woodland path-good for walking. Friendly staff. We camped at Silver Creek Luxury RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandy Shores, Mears, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on site 41, which is sand & W/E. Easy access & level. Lots of shade from well trimmed trees. Occasional falling acorns on rig roof. Adequate room for truck. Buddy sites (facing awning sides); however, sites are fairly wide. Clean shower & laundry houses. Shower is the push button sort that must be regularly pushed to maintain water stream. Only three washers, which might be a problem during the busy summer season. Good WiFi. Campground does have limitations on length of time & number of devices (one) that can be on-line at one time. No AT&T cell coverage. Poor over the air antenna TV some days, up to 12 channels on other days. Very quiet at night. Modest sized campground beach across the street from park, & limited grocery store is next door. Large children's play area. Restaurants & ice cream stands are short walking distances away. Staff is very friendly, welcoming, & constantly tidying sites. We camped at Sandy Shores in a Fifth Wheel.

Wild Cherry Resort, Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on back-in site 62, which is sand. Easy access & required one board to level side to side. Long site with plenty of room for truck. Large concrete patio. Lots of grass between neighboring sites & backed to grass reaching to pond. No shade. There is no shower or laundry house. There is a clean laundromat three miles away in Sutton's Bay. Good WiFi & antenna TV. Exchange book collection. Very quiet at night except for low hum from pond air bubbler, which might not be heard if at another site. Location is lovely, surrounded by woods, while sites are open. Would rate this park much higher if there were showers & laundry facilities. We camped at Wild Cherry Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on site 47, which is concrete and level. Modest grassy spot with trees to the rear. Site is 50/30/20 amp electric with water & easy back in. Adequate room for truck. Lanes are paved. Grounds are nicely maintained. Shower (spacious stalls) & laundry houses are clean. Good WiFi & cable connections. No fire rings for those who prefer smoke-free camping. Quiet during night. Did not use indoor pool/hot tub in casino lodge but look well maintained. An outdoor pool is under construction. Exercise room in lodge. Petoskey KOA, Petoskey, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is located off US 31. Did not see any direction signs until one at entrance. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 85, which is paved, but not level side to side. Small grassy spot & concrete patio. No shade. Like nearly all sites, this one is narrow & very close to neighbors. Easy access to site & room enough for truck. Full hook up with 50 amps. Electric pedestal is in the center of site. Layout of campground is nice; i.e.; circular site groupings & trees create a feeling of a smaller RV park. Pretty flower gardens & friendly, pleasant staff. Good cable TV & WiFi connections. Shower (cramped stalls) & laundry houses clean. Did not use pool, but looked well maintained. Quiet during the night. In addition to very narrow sites, vehicle & rig washing is permitted on sites. On three days of stay an outside cleaning service washed & waxed neighbor's rig. Our truck, patio, & picnic table were sprayed in the process. We could not use picnic table because workmen were immediately adjacent to it, sometimes using it, & getting it wet. Noise from washing & buffing, not to mention the intrusiveness, disrupted a quiet time on our patio. Two sites down another rig was washed. Vehicle cleaning is inappropriate because sites are too close beside each other. We camped at Petoskey KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Munising / Pictured Rocks KOA, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Directly off Michigan 28 about three miles east of Munising. Did not see any direction signs for campground until the low one at the entrance. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 35, which is sandy dirt with good shade from well trimmed trees. Site is easy access, fairly wide, & level with plenty of room for truck. Full hook up with 30 amps. Electric/cable TV pedestal is in the front of site requiring an extension cord & long cable. Roads are sand/dirt & very dusty when vehicles drive past sites & thick underfoot when walking. Road dust & smoke from many campfires hang heavily in the air all of the time. Cable TV was good, but WiFi was nonexistent from site. Can hook up electronics close to, & at, office. Bath house is okay, but is messy in the morning. There are only two shower stalls stalls for a busy campground that has many tenters to use them. Laundry facility is borderline clean (dryer ran for 45 minutes or so on high setting, but clothes not dry when done). Office ran short of quarters to operate machines, so bring a supply if need to do laundry. Small playground; large sparsely grassy area for lawn games. We camped at Munising / Pictured Rocks KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Summer Breeze Campground, Iron Mountain, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient to Iron Mountain restaurants, services, places of interest. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 20, which is grass/gravel with minimal shade. Quiet at night. Site is fairly wide & pretty level with plenty of room for truck. Water faucet is to rear of site & requires a rather long hose. Site awning side faces neighbor awning side (buddy sites). Roads are gravel. Five over the air TV channels. Good WiFi reception. Bath & laundry houses are clean. Did not use pool, but appeared well maintained. Small playground. Small exchange book & movie libraries, board games. Nice walk, suggested in campground literature, on wooded country road. Famers is a good restaurant for dinner & is about six or seven miles from campground, but watch for deer along the way. Park staff are friendly & helpful. We camped at Summer Breeze Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park, Lake Delton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient to I 90/94, but located far enough away that there is minimal traffic noise. Campground is geared to adults. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 26, which is level, gravel, with a large grass plot and some shade. On a slight incline so picnic table was not level. Room for truck. All sites are full hook up. Roads are gravel/dirt and created dust when vehicles traveled by sites. Adequate over the air TV. WiFi but was very limited during three-week stay. Bath and laundry houses are very clean. No pool. Nice exchange library. Staff is helpful about local places of interest, services, and directions. We camped at Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good over the air TV; good WiFi reception. Bath & laundry houses are clean. No pool. Volley, basket, & baseball courts & fields, miniature golf course. Playground. Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Goshen, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Attended a rally, & rate reflects special rate. Quiet except for nearby trains that run through the night. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on Maple Street. Site 287 was level, gravel, narrow with no shade or grass. Site is not long enough for truck, but able to park close by. Except for some field sites, interior roads are paved. There was lots of rain and many sites in grassy areas had many, long-lasting puddles and mud. WiFi was good as was over the air TV. Full hook up connections are in the rear of site & a long ways from trailer outputs. We needed more than 20 feet of sewer hose. Bath houses are very clean. No laundry facilities. Good areas to walk.
