Seven Winds RV Park, Liberal, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a great park, but it was fine for an overnight. With Passport America we only paid $16 so it was a great deal! The regular price of $32 would be way too much for this park. We camped at Seven Winds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Salina KOA, Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice rv park with very friendly and helpful people. We were escorted to our site. We had a premium site which was level and had great hookups as well as nice furniture, fire pit and gas BBQ. This is a great stopover spot- lots of RVs pull in late and are gone the next morning. We stayed 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. It was a good location to visit Eisenhowers presidential museum. A little pricey as KOAs tend to be. It was near the freeway but the noise wasn't too bad. Sewer connections are right at the neighbors patio. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

Scenic Park Campground, South Sioux City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great rv park right on the Missouri River. Our site was level and hook ups were excellent. The freeway was just across the river, but there was very little noise. We read some reviews that complained about the trains, but they were way off in the distance and didn't bother us a bit. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The Pines of Kabetogama Resort, Kabetogama, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very pricey but there aren't any others in the area for big rigs. We've been traveling across the US for the last 10 months and this is the most we've paid for an RV site. The sites below are less expensive ($75) but when we saw the sites up on the hill with a view of Lake Kabetogama we opted to bite the bullet and pay the price for a larger site with a beautiful view. The resort director was great on the phone, followed up with an email and was very pleasant at check in. We told her that after Voyageurs we have visited every National Park and the next time we saw her she had a bottle of champagne and a congratulations card for us. We had a concrete pad to park the RV and nice grass on the rest of the site. I would have given the park a higher rating if it wasn't so expensive. We camped at The Pines of Kabetogama Resort in a Motorhome.

Itasca State Park, Park Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This a beautiful state park campground with lots of grass and trees. We were in Pine Ridge Campground. Our 40' class A fit fine. Our first site was on the end of Spruce loop where everyone drove by and the dumpster was right across the road. The next day we found a better, more private spot and were able to move - much better!! We loved our stay after our move! We didn't realize that check out time is 4:00 so we pulled in about 1:00 and our spot was occupied and they weren't leaving until the last minute. So we had to find a place to park the RV until 4:00. It would be nice if the check in office could keep track of checkouts so they could let you know if your site is available before you drove all the way back to your site. We camped at Itasca State Park in a Motorhome.

Sioux Falls KOA, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a very nice campground, if it was't right next to the freeway. The sites are gravel and grass with a picnic table. If you aren't in a premium site you have to rent a fire pit which they deliver to your site. Check in was pleasant and we were escorted to our site. The freeway noise was so loud that we couldn't really enjoy sitting outdoors which is what we like to do so we probably wouldn't return to this park. It is conveniently located to visit the Sioux Falls area. We camped at Sioux Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground, Christmas, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is kind of a plain Jane campground. There are pretty trees around the perimeter, but no greenery at all in the park. Evidently it is relatively new and a work in progress. We thought it was a little pricey for such a non descript park. Site was level and hookups good. We camped at Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park, Belleville, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We weren't sure what to expect at a fairgrounds rv park, but this is a very nice park! Our grassy site was in between two buildings with 3 other spots, it was quite roomy. The gals in the office were very nice at check in and were helpful when we had questions. There is a community garden in the park and we were able to pick some veggies to have with our dinner - what a nice touch!! This a great location to visit the Ford museum and factory tour, Detroit and Motown and Gerald Fords presidential library in Ann Arbor. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Camping World is very close. Be sure to visit the Ford Museum and take a factory tour. We walked the Detroit Riverwalk and were surprised to see how beautiful Detroit is - that's not exactly the way the media portrays it! The GM building is worth a visit too. The Motown tour was great - be sure to call ahead for reservations. We also really enjoyed the Gerald Ford library and seeing the University of Michigan campus and stadium.

Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground, Mancelona, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, clean campground. Campsites are well planned with bushes in between each site that hide the sewer hookups. The pool area is very clean. Check in was great. Make sure you memorize all the rules and make sure you only drive the posted 5 mph, only put your trash in white trash bags, and do not wash your windshield. I think rules benefit all of us, but it seemed like the gestapo was watching to make sure the rules were followed. Since we tend to follow rules we weren't really bothered too much, but the rules were quite the talk of the park! The only reason we got a spot for one night is because the people in our site the night before were kicked out! This was just an over night stop for us on our way to St Ignace. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Stowe and drive through the notch. Alchemist Brewery is well worth the visit, free samples of great beer. Ben and Jerrys ice cream tour is fun. Cabot cheese store has great cheeses that you can sample before you buy. Morse farm Sugarworks is an interesting visit - great maple syrup! The Von Trapp Family Lodge is fun to visit too. Great cider donuts and cider too at Cold Hollow Cider Mill.

Baldwin Oaks Campground, LLC, Hudsonville, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This could have been a very pretty campground because there are lots of oak trees and the owner works hard all day long keeping things up. But, there are many long term folks staying there that have pretty tacky looking sites. It is definitely a family campground which is great if you have kids, but we didn't even go to the pool because there were so many kids jumping, splashing and yelling as kids do in a pool. It would have been nice to maybe have an adult only time in the pool, although after all the kids I'm not sure I would have gone in anyway! Our site had a ton of cigarette butts all over when we arrived as well as other bits of trash. We ended up leaving a day early and of course didn't get our money back, which we we didn't expect, but would have been nice! We camped at Baldwin Oaks Campground, LLC in a Motorhome.

Tiki RV Park & Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice RV park with lots of pretty trees. We had a spot up front which we weren't sure we would like because it was right on the road at the entrance. It had a large grassy area and a view of Lake Huron so we loved it! The Shepleys ferry company sent a van to pick us up at the RV park for a trip to Mackinac Island which made it very convenient. We found that many of the RV parks didn't accept Passport America during the high season so we were quite pleased when they accepted PA and we got our spot for 1/2 price! This park is conveniently located to visit Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, and Sault St Marie is an easy 50 minute drive. We camped at Tiki RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This a great little rv park! It's right on the water and each site has a covered deck with a bench, picnic table and a view! The camp host is very pleasant and even stopped by to check and see if everything was ok after we got settled. There is a nice walk/bike path from the rv park into town and to the Isle Royale visitors center. We've been on the road for 9 months and this was one of our favorite stays! Wish we could have stayed longer! We camped at City of Houghton RV Park in a Motorhome.
