Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here several times and really enjoyed it. We were sad to hear it was closing. So when we heard Sun Resorts had reopened it (at least temporarily) we made reservations. We chose a back in bay view site. These sites are a little tight side to side and neighbors are close but hedges between sites give some privacy. The hookups worked fine. The grounds are well kept. There's a narrow park between the property and bay. Nice for walking or riding a bike and it closes at 10:30 pm. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cool Sunshine RV Park, Alamosa, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new park located in Alamosa. The sites were dirt/gravel with a strip of grass and a table. The interior roads are extra wide. The utilities are well placed and worked fine. There are railroad tracks on the other side of their fence but they aren't active. It was very quiet at night. There are other parks closer to Great Sand Dunes NP but they were in the middle of nowhere. We like having supermarkets, shopping and fuel close by. We camped at Cool Sunshine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here twice. Both times to keep our rv plugged in while we houseboat on Lake Powell with friends. Our site 61 was located off the main entrance road. It was sloped front to back making it hard to level. The hookups worked fine. We got the weekly rate which includes the 7th night free. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead Point Campground and Cabins , Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

There are several RV parks in the Buena Vista area, In fact, 3 are next door to each other. This one is a few miles out of town. The campground is mostly dirt and gravel. Check in was fast and we were escorted to our back in site. Our site was on the south side which as it turned out got afternoon shade. The hookups worked fine. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. We camped at Arrowhead Point Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Rincon Parkway Campground, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Since the previous reviews were written, a reservation system has been put in place by the county of Ventura. You can now reserve a site 90 days prior to arrival. There were and are some bugs to be worked out but the new system seems to be working ok. The prime sites are in the 60's, due to easy beach access. Rangers come by in the morning and afternoon to check reservations (based on license plates) and to ensure people are in the right spots. Sites are asphalt 45' long and the width between the asphalt and the rocks vary. Your RV and tow have to fit within that footprint. In my case with a 37' coach, means removing my tow hitch. In spite of all the negatives, there isn't any other campsite in Southern California where you can parallel park your RV this close to the ocean. We camped at Rincon Parkway Campground in a Motorhome.

Vista Del Sol RV Resort, Bullhead City, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a newer mixed use 55 & over, private ownership park, with manufactured homes and RV sites. The RV sites are for sale and rent. A previous reviewer (who obviously didn't stay there) incorrectly stated this is a class A only park. It's not. It's open to all types of RV's that are over 26' long. The office was closed when we arrived but we were sent an email with gate codes and site access information. Our site was on the bluff and had great views. All the hookups were placed for easy access, although I had trouble opening the electrical panel. I overlooked the instructions in the confirmation email I had received. The park is new, so there is no shade or much landscaping. There are lots of activities and the people including the staff were very friendly. The only downside is it can get windy but we would stay there again. We camped at Vista Del Sol RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge park with about 1500 sites. It's a mix of older trailers, mobile homes, newer park models and RV sites. It's popular with snowbirds and there is lots of activities for them. We were there with our club and the park was very accommodating. There are two entrances and we entered the wrong one, as there is no clear signage. The check in was easy and the staff friendly. Another odd thing is the office closes at 2pm on Sat. and is closed on Sun. They will post your information paperwork outside the office when they're closed. Our site was a back in on gravel with a concrete strip. It was large enough to fit RV's, trailers and vehicles. They do have some pull through sites that are in a parking lot with hookups but have no privacy. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Motorhome.

Indian Wells RV Resort, Indio, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that has been taken over by Sun resorts. There is a mix of of all types and years of RV's, mobile homes and park models. Most of the park seems to be populated with a mix of full timers and snow birds. It is well maintained park but is showing it's age. The check in was easy and the staff was very friendly. Our pull through site was a little tight but the hookups worked fine. Although, Sun Resorts is in the process of making many changes and upgrades, the rate they are charging now is overpriced compared to other parks in the area. We camped at Indian Wells RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Jurupa Park, Riverside, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We've been to this park several times but not for a couple of years. We were happy it's even better than we remembered. It's a large county run park located in an urban/suburban area. In addition to being a campground, it's a day use park with a splash pad, two small fishing lakes and a miniature golf course. Every vehicle pays a fee to enter. There is a line for RV'ers checking in that bypasses the day use line, so check in was a breeze. Our site was in the newer RV only Cottonwood section. The interior roads are wide. Our site was spacious, with a level concrete pad surrounded by grass. Some sites are grouped closer together than others but there is plenty of open space. There is an older section, open for all types of camping and mostly dirt, called Lakeside and is not nearly as nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We'll be back. We camped at Rancho Jurupa Park in a Motorhome.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest parks we've ever been to. Camp hosts tidy up sites after they are vacated, including sanitizing the water connection. Our site was a waterfront on marina side. These are head in, which allows water views through your windshield. On the opposite side are bay view back in sites, which are popular with people that have rear windows in their RV's. All sites have a combination of grass and pavement for your RV and tow. T-Mobile doesn't have coverage here but the other major providers seem to work fine. The only negatives are slow to non existent wifi and the grass is constantly wet due to the damp conditions and watering 5-6 times per week. This means moving furniture, bbq's, etc. each night to avoid having them soaking wet in the morning. Those negatives aside, we will be back. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are planning to do a lot of ATV'ing, they are not allowed to be operated in the RV park and must be towed or pushed to the ATV path on main road. They are allowed to be operated in the nearby county campgrounds and some have hookups and would be a better option.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We called ahead to make sure we had a spot for the night. The owner was kind enough to text directions. This was very helpful as the entrance is not visible from the street. The owner warmly greeted us and showed us to our site and stopped by a couple of times to see if everything was ok and it was. Our site was long enough for my tow to stay connected and the utilities are conveniently placed. Perfect for an overnight stay. We will stop here again in the future. Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Mammoth NP. Close to the hwy and train tracks but the noise wasn't too bothersome. Check in was easy and you get escorted to your site. Sites are long pull thrus that have the utilities placed so that they can be reached and still leave your tow attached. Very well maintained grounds. There were a few children here during our stay but there isn't much for them to do here i.e. no play equipment or pool. There is another park nearby that would be more suited for families with young children. If ever in the area we'd stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

ICamp Green River, Green River, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

The park was a bit hard to find until we realized they've changed their name to Icamp. Check in was easy. The new owners appear to have been making much needed upgrades to the park. Our site was mostly dirt but fairly level. The biggest negative to us was a $5 extra charge for our dog (who weighs 10.lbs). That's the most we've ever paid and was no dog run or provided clean up bags. We camped at ICamp Green River in a Motorhome.

Louisville South KOA, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

I'm not usually a fan of KOA's because they tend to be a bit pricy but this one of the best I've been to. It's in a large park like setting off the main road. It's family oriented park with lots of activities. We arrived prior to Memorial Day weekend without reservations. After we we arrived we called several parks and found them all booked for the holiday weekend. The office staff went out of their way to help us extend our stay. If ever in the area we'll be back. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

Border Inn RV Park, Baker, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is located on US 50 at the NV/UT border. Very little traffic so noise is not an issue. Check in was easy, pay at the store and pick a spot. It's basically a large open lot with hookups. The utilities worked fine. There was a picnic table in our site but it was too weathered to use it. However we did see staff making repairs to other tables nearby. It's about a 15-20 min drive to GBNP. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was good. The staff was friendly and we'd stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Border Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.
