Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Basics are pretty much as described by others. Good place, very well kept up, easy to manuever, level gravel sites. Lots of choice in type of site 30 / 50/ cable etc etc. With some sites I could go a 9 overall but no patio, no shade, kinda close to next site just can't do it. Great folks running the place. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Crawfordsville KOA, Crawfordsville, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is about the minimum I'd expect from a KOA (which includes high prices unfortunately). If fact, I wonder if its soon to join the ranks of the former KOAs you see about. OK if you need a place with hookups, and actually its a a nice setting but somewhat rundown with some long-term folks. Bath the same old, rundown but clean. Sites can be acceptable to bad. Didn't try wifi with very good Verizon service. We camped at Crawfordsville KOA in a Motorhome.

Lincoln State Park, Lincoln City, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Nice natural setting adjacent to Lincoln Boyhood Memorial. Too bad they put a couple hundred campsites into it. Pretty well occupied too, even on a weekday. Interior roads ok, sites are terrible - I think only the handicapped are paved the rest have varying amounts of gravel and varying degrees of off-level. And, some were really badly off. There is water but from centrally located spigots probably requiring lots of hose. With all that, the price is way out of line. Verizon hit and miss. We camped at Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Harpeth River Bridge COE, Ashland City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Typical COE park. Good roads, large level concrete pads, picnic table, fire ring. Most sites have some good shade, the highest numbered closest to the bridge have less than others. Traffic noise from the bridge might also be a factor for those sites also. Good Verizon service. Gate office currently closed Mondays and Wednesdays you'll have to go to the website to see what they might have those days. We camped at Harpeth River Bridge COE in a Motorhome.

Natchez Trace Parkway / Meriwether Lewis Campground, Hohenwald, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Its hard to beat free. Very pleasant wooded (lots of shade) campground. Generous site spacing but clear lines of sight. Picnic table, fire ring. Some sites more level than others. Several pull-thrus for those that like most are probably just there for the night - curved off the road not, too tight for anything but maybe the biggest rigs. Asphalt roads and sites - some leveler than others. If cruising through checking it out there are two loops to pick from. We grabbed one of the sites on the first loop thinking we were about to head back out and later found there were several we liked better on the 2d loop. Met the hosts - good people. Had Verizon voice and marginal data without pulling out the amplifier/antenna. If they'd put in a dump I'd give it a 10. We camped at Natchez Trace Parkway / Meriwether Lewis Campground in a Motorhome.

Cross City R.V. Park, Corinth, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Super value! Newer, very well kept place. Level gravel pads and roads. Some trees, site spacing close but tolerable. In the country close to town, nice and quiet. Owner/manager very personable and helpful. Not a destination by itself but a real good place to stay while visiting the area. We camped at Cross City R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Maynor Creek Water Park, Waynesboro, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting on a lake, lots of trees. Then there is the facility itself. Roomy sites with picnic tables but had problems getting level on ours and looking about I think that most would have that issue. Interior roads need work too. Then, I wouldn't bring a big rig in here unless I really wanted a challenge - although it is doable. All utilities were ok, No Verizon data, voice ok. We camped at Maynor Creek Water Park in a Motorhome.

Riverview Campground, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older, quiet (mostly - weekend afternoon there was quite a bit of target practice going on nearby) park on the outskirts of Waco. Lots of trees providing good shade and they seem to work hard keeping them out of the way of the RVs. Manueverability could get a bit tight for big rigs but they are there so they got in. Level concrete pads with approaches as noted otherwise. Gravel interior roads and yes the road leading to the park could use work but no major potholes. Excellent staff - called to give us a weather update so we could adjust our travel accordingly and told us to park on an unused slab to stay out of the mud. OK wifi, Verizon data service marginal. We camped at Riverview Campground in a Motorhome.

Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE, Coleman, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real gem. Spacious sites - we got a full hookup pull-through because we could - hardly anyone else there. Grass and trees and the lake and deer fawning - quite the change after a winter in the desert. Nice and quiet - I do wonder whats its like on weekends when the several hundred spots fill and motor boats are running around on the lake. We camped at Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE in a Motorhome.

West Texas Friendly RV Park, Big Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Good newer park for where it is (West Texas oil patch) and what it was put in for (housing oilfield workers). Graveled roads and sites (level gravel, OK size and spacing) with good maneuverability. OK wifi and Verizon service. Good electric for us, don't think its the park that has problems, I think the whole system in this part of the world just hasn't reacted to the oil boom and greatly increased demand. Overall the park including bathroom/shower/laundry was quite clean. It is all long-term, we were fortunate to get an overnight space. Owner/mangers are real nice. We camped at West Texas Friendly RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Springs Campground (NPS Campground), Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Tough call on an overall rating. Great national park - the RV park - not so much. If you're here its not for the campground. Its RV spaces marked on an asphalt parking lot. Some pull-through, some back-in. No dump and I'd think about watering-up before coming in. The water fill is located so most rigs would have to go around (the wrong way) and come back in to get parked, non-threaded faucet, you'll need a water thief and pushbutton operated. Otherwise, phenomenal setting and great hiking. Marginal Verizon service We camped at Pine Springs Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful setting in the hills with great views. Most of the sites were quite spacious gravel, ours was level, with shelters and picnic tables. The volunteer staff is just incredible, going way above and beyond to make sure visitors get a site and are welcome. OK Verizon service. We camped at Rock Hound State Park in a Motorhome.

LoW-Hi RV Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Country setting, nice and quiet. Good park, older but very well kept up, pretty much gravel (it's the desert) with some landscaping. Sites level and adequately sized, long enough for a motorhome and toad to stay hooked up if you want. Good maneuverability. No problem utilities, OK Verizon, OK wifi. Friendly staff.
